She relocated to Whitesboro, NJ in 1987 with her mother and Father, William Stubbs. She attended Middle Township Middle School and graduated with the Middle Township High School Class of 1995.

She began her career in nursing as a CNA at Cape May Care Center, and she continued her career in providing personal care when she started as a cottage attendant at Woodbine State School where she was employed over eight years.

Ebony had such a love for children and cherished her family (her seven children and two step-children). She was a hard worker and believed in putting her shoulder to the wheel and always strived to work for the better things in life. When you looked at her, she always had that radiant smile that melted your heart.

Ebony enjoyed spending time with her family, especially bonding with her new grandson. She loved to write poems, and sing (even though some thought she couldn't carry a tune). She loved shopping and was known for never taking the tags off of her clothes. She learned later how to pamper herself by always getting her hair done. She best expressed this in her poem, "My Mirror" - "My Mirror shows a face, a face of strength, a face of beauty. As I look at that beautiful structure of soft milk brown skin, in my mirror I smile, I blow a kiss and say "I love you, I love you my mirror, my new friend, my me, myself and I." And she also wrote another poem "Open your eyes!" - Can you see who you are? What you are? Look into your eyes and find you; only you know who and what you are, then you'll know what you want to be, what you can be. But first, "Open your eyes"

On April 22, 2009, Ebony found her peace with the Lord, she surrendered her physical so that we can celebrate her spiritually: her three sons - Brian Flanders, Malik Flanders and Yamire McNeal; four daughters - Antwanette Flanders, Keyana Flanders, Yazmine McNeal & Naadirah Harrison, all of Cape May Court House; two stepchildren - Ronisha Harrison & Jallah Herron of Atlantic City; her mother - Sharon Stubbs of Sanford, FL; her father - William Stubbs of Cape May Court House; three brothers - David (Jen) Flanders of Trenton, Darrese Bradley of New Britain, CT and Tyrone T.
