Gavin, Michael

Michael Gavin, age 54 years of Cape May Court House, NJ died suddenly on Friday, February 6, 2009 at his home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to Elizabeth (nee McKinnely) Halpin and the late Joseph Gavin and has lived here for the past fifteen years coming from Philadelphia.

Michael was a retired Able Body Seamen with the Cape May - Lewes Ferry and retired in 2006 after fourteen years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a Banjo player along with the Duffy String Band who also dearly love animals and his two dogs. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Gavin.

He is survived by and was married to his wife of sixteen years, Sandra J. (nee Fynes) Gavin, his son Erik M. and his wife Dana Gavin of Levittown, PA, his daughter April and her husband Gerald Fox of Levittown, PA & his mother Elizabeth Halpin of Villas, two brothers; Patrick Gavin of Villas & John and his wife Jennifer Gavin of Exton, PA, three sisters; Anne and her husband Thomas Bright, Elizabeth (late Carlton) Woodlin & Isabella Halpin all of Villas, step brother of; Margie Bertrand, Marie Gallo, Katie Schelder, Jimmy Halpin & Isabel Allen, his four grandchildren; Erik, Josephine, Grace & Gavin, nephew of. Margaret Doyle and Thomas Gavin also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Funeral Liturgy will be said 10:00 am Friday, February 13, 2009 at Our Lady of the Angels Church, East Mechanic Street and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House where relatives and friends may call after 9:00 am.

Interment at 1:30 pm, Friday, February 13, 2009 in Saints Peter & Paul cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA, 19064. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Michael's memory.

Gawel, Walter M.

Walter M. Gawel, 77, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. Born in Poland, he has lived here for the last four years coming from Wildwood Crest, NJ. He was a well known builder/contractor having built the Aladdin Motel, Alps Motel and the Paradise Inn of Wildwood Crest, where he was owner/manager from 1970-2000. He enjoyed the beach, golfing, sailing and snow skiing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christine M. (nee Mazur); his son: Walter J. (Patricia) of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ; daughter: Christine A. Gawel of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers: Stephen (Ann) & Joseph (Laura); sister: Helena (Edmund) Kryspin all of Stamford, CT; and one grandson Walter J., Jr.

Relatives and friends may call 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2007 and again 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ. On December 26, 2008. Of Maple Shade. Age 70. Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Braude). Loving father of Robert Gazzara and his wife Lynn, stationed in Japan. Devoted grandfather of Caroline and Mak. Dear brother of Louise Gazzara and Emily DelBonifro. Mr. Gazzara graduated from Bok Trade School in Phila. in 1955, then attended Phila. College of Art. He was a well-known art director who worked at several different advertising firms throughout Phila. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at 10am on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment Calvary Cem., Cherry Hill.

GEFFERT, MARIE on January 12, 2007, of Marlton, NJ. Age 81. Loving mother of Ronald Perugini, Linda Young, and Debra Rivera. Sister of Nick Canazzi and Helen Dailey. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Marie enjoyed reading her Bible, knitting, spending time with her grandchildren and attending Marlton Assembly of God Church. Geiger, Mark Edward

Mark Edward Geiger, age 53 years of Del Haven,New Jersey, died on Friday, September 8, 2006 at his home. Born in Abington, PA, he has lived here for the past 22 years coming from Sea Isle City & Abington. Mark was employed as a Supervisor for the Sea Isle City Water Department. Mark was a member of St. Raymond's Church, Villas, NJ, enjoyed reading, was an avid Eagles, Flyers & Phillies fan, enjoyed the history and was knowledgeable of both the Civil War and World War II.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, his three children; Jennifer Geiger, Kimberly Geiger and Daniel Geiger all at home, his mother Barbara Geiger of Sea Isle City, NJ, five brothers and sisters Kathleen Steele, Patricia Geiger, Paul Geiger, Robert Geiger and Marcella Cormalis, one grandson Charles Geiger. He was predeceased by his two brothers Christopher and Kenneth.

Funeral Mass will be said on, Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Raymond's Church, East Hudson Ave., Villas, NJ where relatives and friends may call after 9:00 AM. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Geiger and his wife Marilyn of Medford, NJ, William J. Geiger III and his wife Sara of Abington, PA, Suzanne K. Geiger of Hamilton Twp., NJ, Shirley G. Gragilla and her husband John of Cherry Hill, NJ and Gary G. Geiger and his wife Susan of Absecon, NJ. She is also survived by six grandchildren. Born in Peoria, IL, she is the daughter of the late William and Ethel (nee Hubbard) Hall, the mother of the late Anthony L. Geiger and the Grandmother of the late Amanda M. Geiger. A former employee of J.F. Builders in Sea Isle City, NJ, she also worked for the NJ Dept. of Tourism in the South Jersey area. Funeral Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Geiser, Jerry

Geiser on Jan 9, 2002 Bernard (Jerry) of Marlton age 75 survived by his beloved wife Doris nee Hillgrube and 2 sons Kenneth S. & Karen of Mt Laurel, Ronald E. & Joanna of Derry NH also a brother and 5 sisters also 5 grandchildren. In 1984 Jerry retired after 42 yrs as an engineer with Brown-Boveri Inc of Chalfont, PA . and Past President of the Cherry Hill Lions Club, Jerry was a Eucharist minister at St Joan of Arc church and a volunteer at Virtua West Jersey Hosp in Marlton. Gemignani, Louis

Louis Gemignani, age 84, of West Long Branch died Monday August 1, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Louis was born in Contignola, Italy. He came to the United States as an Italian prisoner of war and was detained at Ft. Monmouth, where he met Rita. He returned to Italy in 1949 to marry her. Upon returning to the United States he settled in West Long Branch in 1957. He founded the very successful company of Louis and John Drywall, Long Branch, and remained as its president until his retirement in 2000. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity RC Church, Long Branch.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Corcione Gemignani, in 1989. Surviving are his wife Lina, of seven years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Michaela and Michael and Kathleen; two brothers, Vincenzo and Valter Gemignani of Contignola, Italy; two sisters, Franca Marescotti of Contignola, Italy and Maria Boschi, Long Branch and three grandchildren Ravenna, Luke and Sophia.

Visitation will be at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) on Wednesday August 3, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Thursday, 8:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Holy Trinity RC Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary, Neptune.

Genova, Josephine

Josephine Genova, age 93 yrs, of Williamstown, NJ on Aug 26, 2001. Mrs. Genova was born in Santa Anna, Sicily, she traveled to America with her patents, Charles and Mary Perrone at the age of 2. Josephine was the oldest of six girls. In 1930 she married Joseph L. Genova, (deceased 1978). They purchased land in Williamstown, NJ in 1941, where they farmed. Josephine was a homemaker. Her passion for cooking and entertaining was enjoyed by many friends and family members. She was also a supportive partner to her husband during his years in the trucking business. Devoted mother of Marie Haupert of Exton, PA and Dolores Davy and Joseph S. Genova, both of Williamstown. Loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Jack, Diane, Michael, Lisa, Kim, Gina, Greg, Mary, Joseph, Angela, and Michelle and 6 great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Ariana, Anthony, Nicholas, Natalie and Matthew. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Thursday at St. Mary's RC Church, Main St. and Carrol Avenue, Williamstown, NJ. A viewing will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday and 8:30-9:30 AM Thursday at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 South Main St, Williamstown, NJ. Interment St. Mary's cemetery.

Gentile, Salvatore S.

SALVATORE S. GENTILE, 82, of OCEANPORT, died Tuesday at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. He was the vault manager for Bank of New York, New York City, for 20 years before retiring 20 years ago. Born in New York City, he lived in Long Branch before moving to Ocean-port 45 years ago. He was a parishioner of the Roman Cath-olic Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus 335, Long Branch, and a member of the Old Guard, Long Branch. He was active in the Oceanport community for more than 30 years. He was involved in the recreation committee and was one of the members instrumen-tal in forming the borough's li-brary, where he served as the association's vice president. He was also an active member of the Oceanport Seniors and served as president in 1987 and 1988. His involvement extended beyond Oceanport. In 1992, the Monmouth County Park System recognized his many hours of volunteer service by presenting him with the Achievement Award for Voluntary Service. In 1999 he was named Man of the Year by the Monmouth County Senior Citizens Council and in 2001, Mayor Gordon Gemma presented him the Oceanport's Life Time Achieve-ment Award. In recognition of his achievements, the Mon-mouth County Board of Freeholders appointed him to serve on the advisory council to the county Office on Aging.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Gioscia Gentile, in 1986. Surviving are two daugh-ters and a son-in-law, Angela and Kevin Coyle, and Virginia Whitfill, all from Brick; and a granddaughter, Rosemary Coyle.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at the Church of Precious Blood Church, Monmouth Beach. In-terment will be in Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations are request-ed to the Knights of Columbus, P.O. Box 493, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Prior to retirement, Jerry was employed as a truck driver for Charlton Brothers out of Philadelphia, PA for over 25 years. Loving grandfather of Denise Mankevich, Lori Albright and her husband Bruce, Marlene Donovan and her fiancé Jack McDermott, and Pam Georgette, and great-grandfather of Shana, Shaun, Ryan, and Matthew. Also survived by his niece and nephews, Barbara Malan, and Jack and Mark Georgette, and great-nephews Mark and Anthony Georgette. Mr. Georgette retired in 1972 as a bus driver for New Jersey Transport for 35 years. Loving father of Sandra Tallon, son-in-law Albert Prelle and the late Jo Ann Prelle. Caring grandfather of Paul Peditto (Stephanie), Darren Peditto, Tonilyn Peditto and Laura Prelle. Great grandfather of Zackary McFerren, Kati Peditto and Nicholas Peditto. Anthony was a member of the Odd Fellows in Medford, U.S. WWII Navy Veteran and an employee of RCA. Geracos, Mary B., 88, of Rio Grande, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at her home. Born in Greece to the late Elias and Metaxo (Stamatis) Boulgarides, she moved here 30 years ago from Sewarren, NJ. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.

Mrs. Geracos is survived by her daughters, Dianne Polli of Rio Grande; and Marina Tronolone of Maui, HI; her sister, Roberta Van Note of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; her brother, James Boulgarides of Culver City, CA; her five grandchildren, Michael Tronolone, Christopher Tronolone, Leah Polli Aquilani, Jay Polli, and Georgia Polli; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Geracos on June 15, 1989.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Holly, NJ, she has resided in Tabernacle for the past 45 yrs. moving there from Buddtown, NJ. She is the beloved wife of 51 yrs. of Norman H. Gerber Sr. of Tabernacle, NJ and the Loving Mother of Norman H. Gerber Jr. and his wife Sandra of Chatsworth, NJ and William J. Gerber Sr. and his wife Nina of Waterford, NJ. She is also survived by her brother Theodore Hargrove of TN, her sisters Helen Danley of Mt. Holly, NJ, Nancy Clayton of Browns Mills, NJ and Alice Hargrove of Tabernacle, NJ, and her Cherished Grandchildren Krystal (Gerber) Hall and her husband Jay, Norman H. Gerber III, Mandee Gerber, William Gerber Jr. and Jacob Gerber. She is the sister of the late James Hargrove.
