Guindon, Leo A.

Leo A. Guindon, age 83 years of Ocean View, NJ died peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his home. He was born in Central Falls, RI to the late Arthur Guindon & Angelina Levesque and has lived here for the past twenty two years coming from Westwood, NJ. He retired from Western Union as a Communications Manager after twenty years of service, was a Navy veteran of both WW II & Vietnam War, was a member of the American Legion and had worked as a security guard at both Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital & Shore Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Beverly E., (nee Arruda) Guindon, his three sons; Richard Guindon, Brian Guindon & William Guindon, four daughters; Christine Guindon, Sandra Pearson, Cathy Stone & Linda Boyajian, his two brothers; Ernest Guindon & Robert Guindon, his three sisters; Beartrice, Clare & Cecile and his five grand daughters & five grand sons.

Funeral Services and interment are private. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Guire, Sr, Jacques J. " Jack "

JACQUES J. "JACK" GUIRE SR., 77, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Monday, March 17, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. He was the former proprietor of John Guire Co., Long Branch, for 25 years before retiring in 1984, also a bus driver for the Asbury Park-New York Transit and owner of Peeps Trucking, West Long Branch. He was known for his van service, "Jack in the Box." He was a World War II Navy veteran; ex-captain and trustee of the West End Engine Company of the Long Branch Fire Department and a honorary member of the West Long Branch Fire Company 2. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Born in New York City, he lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch in 1959.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Conte Guire; two sons, Jacques J. Guire Jr. and John Guire, both of West Long Branch; a daughter, Diane Guire of Long Branch; a sister, Yvonne L. Guire of Long Branch; and a grandson, Jacques J. Guire III.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Damiano Funeral Home, corner of Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home with Mass offered at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. L

Gulino, Tillie Liquori

Tillie A. Liquori Gulino age 83 of Oceanport died Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She made plane safety equipment for Air Cruiser Company before retiring several years ago. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she had lived in Oceanport for the last 14 years. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent Gulino who died in 1976.

Surviving are 3 sons and 3 daughters in law, Roy A and Caroline Gulino, Lakewood; Vincent and Hong Gulino, Jackson; Anthony and Peggy Gulino, Barnegat; 2 daughters, Donna Manley, Beachwood and Cecelia Lane, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Tuesday, May 18, from 2-4, 7-9 pm with a funeral service to begin at 8:30 pm.

Gunson Sr., Richard A.

RICHARD A. GUNSON SR. of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 8, 2009. He was 84 yrs. of age. Born in Camden, NJ, he has resided in Leisuretowne since 1994 moving there from Mt. Ephriam, NJ. He is the former Owner of West Jersey Construction Co. in Voorhees, NJ which he started in 1949. He was a member of the Burlington Country Club and a Veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is the Beloved Husband of Margaret T. (Nee McFadden) of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ and the Loving Father of Joan A. Lefczik and her husband Larry of Medford, NJ, Richard A. Gunson Jr. and his wife Clare of Medford Lakes, NJ and Pat R. Balanetsky and her husband Robert of Audubon, NJ. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Gunson of Clearwater, FL and Phil Gunson of Runnemeade, NJ, his Grandchildren Michael and his wife Veronica Balanetsky and Robert Balanetsky, Jennifer Gunson and her husband Jose Fernandez, Rachael Gunson, Katie Lefczik and Maggie Lefczik and his Great Grandchildren Michael Balanetsky and Jose' Fernandez-Gunson. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday from 11:00 – 12:30 pm at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ (609-953-7600), where a celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in the BG Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cem. in Arneytown, NJ.

Gurdgiel, Mary J.

Mary J. Gurdgiel(nee Kosher), 99, of Woodbine, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Ocean View Center. Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 17, 1907 to Josef and Nellie Kosher, previously from Poland. They moved to Woodbine when she was a small girl. Mary worked in various clothing factories until the early 90's. She was a waitress at Buck Tavern in Corbin City and Jan's Luncheonette in Woodbine. She also volunteered at Woodbine Developmental Center as a Foster Grandparent. She is predeceased by her husband John; four sisters, Annie Kosobucki, Bertha Fitzick, Stephanie Yarrish, and Julia Trione; and her grandson, Michael Gurdgiel.

Surviving our beloved "Bochie" is brother, Albert Kosher and wife Irene; three sons, Joseph of Woodbine, NJ, Edward and wife Nancy of Marlton, NJ, and Julian (Junior) and wife Janet of Cresco, PA; also 11 grandchildren; and many great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine, NJ, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir's cemetery, Woodbine, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053, or to the Foster Grandparents at the Woodbine Developmental Center.

Gurdgiel, Beverly A.

Beverly "Tootsie" A. Gurdgiel, 67, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. She was born in September 13, 1936, to the late Charles W. and Mildred F. Dillahay Layton at Mercy Hospital, Sea Isle City, NJ. She was a cook at the Woodbine Developmental Center. She enjoyed being a mom and grandmother by putting her family first. She was a great cook; she enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Tootsie was an avid Eagles fan and had coached Little League Baseball and was a Cub Scout Den mother.

She is survived by her children: Chris A. of Woodbine, NJ, Robin A. (Josephine) of Cape May Court House, Scott A. of North Wildwood, NJ, and Julie L. of Woodbine; brothers: Charles "Sonny" Layton of Millville, NJ, and Donny Layton of FL; sister: Helen Saduk of Belleplain, NJ; six grandchildren: Jay, Allen, Jason, Steven, Jasmine, and Brandon; and two great grandchildren: Samantha and Jay, Jr. She was preceded in death by two sons: Michael and Jay, a sister: Clara Layton, and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Friday evening, February 6, 2004, at 7:30 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call 6:00 PM until time of services. Interment will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Casimir's cemetery, Woodbine, NJ. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, South New Jersey Regional Office, 917 North Main St., Toms River, NJ 08753-6587.

Gurdgiel, Sr., Joseph J.

Joseph J. Gurdgiel Sr., 78, of Woodbine, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 at his home. Born in Millville to the late John and the late Mary (Kosher) Gurdgiel, he was a longtime resident of Woodbine. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Gurdgiel worked as a meat inspector for the USDA and was a part time police officer in Woodbine for 25 years. He was a member of the Woodbine Fire Company for 51 years and past chief of the Woodbine Rescue Squad. He was a member of the New Jersey State Fireman's Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mr. Gurdgiel is survived by his children, Kathleen Harris and her husband, Albert of Warner Robbins, GA, Joseph J. Gurdgiel, Jr. and his wife, Donna S. of South Seaville, Robert Gurdgiel and his wife, Donna E. of Dorchester, and James Gurdgiel and his wife, Bonnie of Woodbine; his brothers, Edward Gurdgiel and his wife, Ann of Marlton and Julian Gurdgiel and his wife, Janet of Cresco, PA; and his five grandchildren, Frank DiLorenzo, Jr., Joshua Michael Gurdgiel, James Robert Gurdgiel, Chad Evan Gurdgiel, and Robert Thomas Gurdgiel, Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Gurdgiel on May 24, 1985.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

GUSTIS, HENTIETTA (nee Pospiech) on December 14, 2004 of Mt. Laurel since 1970. Beloved wife of John Gustis. Dear sister of Ted Pospiech of New Port Richey, FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Henrietta was employed at Penn Mutual Insurance for over 40 years. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Saturday February 19, 2005 from 10-11 AM at St. Mary's Church 2001 Springdale Rd in Cherry Hill. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Henrietta was employed at Penn Mutual Insurance for over 40 years. At the convenience of the family, there will be a Memorial Service held at a later date under the direction of the Bradley Funeral Home, Marlton, NJ. Gut, Roman

GUT, Roman, suddenly on August 3, 2005 of Cinnaminson, formerly of Mt. Laurel.

Age 22. He is the beloved son of Victor and Elena Gut. Dear brother of Dennis Gut. Roman is also survived by several loving family members. He was born in Russia and lived in Israel, prior to moving to the United States. Roman is a graduate of Lenape High School class of 2001 and a graduate of New York Institute of Technology with a Dental Laboratory Technician degree. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Sunday from 9-10:30am at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd. Marlton. Services will be held graveside at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill following the viewing.

Guzzi, Alfred " Fritz "

ALFRED F. "FRITZ" GUZZI SR., 83, of LONG BRANCH, died Thursday, Sept. 4, at Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic. He was the owner and operator of Colonial Fuel Service, Long Branch, retiring in 1984. He was a U.S Army Air Force veteran, serving during World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch. He was an exempt fireman, past captain and past president of the Atlantic Engine and Truck Company of the Long Branch Fire Dept. He was a member of the Allied Building Trades, Local 694, Neptune, a 4th degree with Knights of Columbus 335, Long Branch, and a member of the Long Branch Old Guard. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Kurpell Guzzi; one son, Alfred Guzzi Jr. of Long Branch; two daughters, Nancy Montgomery of West Long Branch, and Maryanne Squillari of Monmouth Beach; two sisters, Emma Galluccio and Edith Bratton, both of Long Branch; and six grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Michael's Church, West End, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.

Guzzi, Rose Kurpiel

Rose Kurpiel Guzzi, age 79 of Long Branch died June 30, 2005 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Rose was a homemaker her entire life, but loved helping out at her daughter's florist shop in West End. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch. Born in Mahoney City, PA she lived in Elizabeth before moving to Long Branch in 1946. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred "Fritz" Guzzi, Sr.in 2003 and her parents, Thomas and Mary Kurpiel. Surviving is a son, Alfred "Fred" Guzzi, Jr. of Long Branch; two daughters, Nancy Montgomery of West Long Branch and Maryanne Squillari of Monmouth Beach; a brother, Thomas Kurpiel of Bayville; a sister, Jean Kenesky of Frackville, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Rosalie, Freddie, Billie, Michelle, RJ and Robert.

Visitation will be held at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Tuesday, July 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral, Wednesday, 9:30 am at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:30 am at St. Michael's R.C. Church, West End, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
