Heun, Phillip George

Phillip George Heun, 65, of Cape May Court House, NJ and Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2009 at Cape Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 13, 1944 in Ohiowa, NE to the late Phillip and Fredia Heun, Phil and his family moved to Ocean View, NJ when he was 12 years old. Besides his parents, Phil is predeceased by his brother, Vern Hillgren, Uncles Fred and Douglass (Anne) Heun, Aunts Margaret (Dave) Mundy and Elizabeth Heun, Father In Law and Mother In Law, William and Dorothy Albrecht and Niece Michelle Albrecht Grothe'.

Phil is survived by his loving Wife of 45 years, Patricia; sons Phillip III (Deborah), Christopher (Jennifer) and Daughter, Victoria (Chad); and His pride and joy Grandchildren, Phillip IV (Monica), Heather, Kristen and Christopher James. Also surviving are his Brothers, Doug (June), John (Ardella), Vaughn Hillgren (Shirley), Victor Hillgren (Marge), Aunt Helen Heun, Brother In Law and Business Partner, William F. Albecht, Jr. (Sophia); and many Nieces and Nephews.

A true legend in his own time, Phil and his brother in law, Bill started Albrecht and Heun Inc. in 1969. Known for his hard work and insight, the business grew to where it is today along with its many subsidiaries. He was extremely proud to have his Children and Grandchildren working alongside him and helping him build his dreams. His legacy will be carried on through them.

"Philbert", as he was best known to family and friends, was an avid collector of antique cars, trucks, tractors and boats. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, which was especially helpful when he got sick. When asked how things were going, whether it was his health or business, he'd just say "Stay Tuned". Phil kept some of the Nebraska Hayseeder Farm Boy in him by planting gardens of corn, pumpkins and flowers. His unique personality will be missed and he has left a huge hole in the heart of the family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where his funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Heun, Frederick

Heun, Frederick, 87, of Cape May Court House, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Helen. They were married over 58 years. He is also survived by his nephews, Phil (Pat), Douglas (June), and John (Ardella); and his niece, Lorraine Camacho. He is also survived by a host of good friends.

Mr. Heun was born in New York City, but loved this area and has been coming here over 50 years and moved here permanently 15 years ago. He was always the most generous person and was well known for his many gifts of gladiolas to all.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist cemetery, Ocean View.

Hevener, Myrtle "Sug" C.

Myrtle C. "Sug" Hevener, 81, of Green Creek, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was former junior choir director of Green Creek Community Church, coached Babe Ruth Baseball Team, and managed the men's team in the Cape May County Slo-Pitch Softball League. She was former director of the Cape May County Veterans Bureau and was a driving force in bringing the Veterans cemetery to Cape May County. She loved to read and fish.

Sug is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry R. Hevener, Jr.; her sons, Harry of Erma, and William and his wife, Diane of North Cape May; her grandchildren, Lori Sockriter and her husband, John, William, Holly Remy and her husband, Mark, Ronnie, Steven, William, and Jennifer; and her great grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, Jake, David, Kateland, and Ronald.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1010 Bayshore Road, Del Haven, NJ 08251.

Hevener, Jr., Harry R.

Hevener, Harry R., 88, of Green Creek passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Harry and Lillian (formerly Youngberg) Hevener, Sr., he moved to the area as a child after living in Camden. After graduating Wildwood High School, he served in the U.S. Army and was a disabled veteran from his service during World War II. He later worked as a Construction Superintendant for Simms Construction. He was an avid fisherman, loved animals (especially dogs), and was a member of American Legion Post 1000. He was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle "Sug" in 2003.

He is survived by his sons Harry Hevener III of Erma and William (Diana) Hevener of North Cape May along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be private.

Hewes, Henrietta

HEWES, Henrietta Forey (nee Witmer) died November 9 at Virtua Hospital, Marlton, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents, Samuel T. and Louise Grenewald Witmer; brother, Dr. Samuel G. Witmer; and sisters, Mary Louise Jones, Barbara Young and Dr. Jane Kienle.

Beloved wife of Charles Richard Hewes of Southampton, NJ. Loving mother of Ann Yanuklis of Monroe, NY and Beth Sosdorf of North Wales, PA. She is also surived by her son-in-law, John Yanuklis, 5 grandchildren, Rich Sosdorf, Betsy Sosdorf Waldo, Darlene Sosdorf Geisel, Amanda Yanuklis Kucerka and Richard Yanuklis; and 3 great-grandchildren, Brian Waldo, Shelby Waldo, and Erin Geisel. Mrs. Hewes was born on April 3, 1916 at her childhood home, located at 529 Broadway in Hanover, PA. She graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover and the Wilford Academy in Philadelphia. She was married in St. Matthews Lutheran Church on June 28, 1936. Mr. And Mrs. Hewes enjoyed a blessed marriage of 66 yrs. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday evening from 7:00-7:30 PM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1 Winchester Ct., Tabernacle, NJ. Funeral Service will be 7:30 PM at the Church. Mrs. Hewes will be buried in Rest Haven cemetery in Hanover, PA on Wednesday. Hewett, John W.

John W. "Pete" Hewett, 79, of Rio Grande, died on Friday, February 8, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. He was born in Philadelphia and was a lifetime resident of this area. He was the owner of John W. Hewett Plumbing and Heating. He volunteered three years to the Navy in World War II, serving in both Europe and the Pacific. He was a member of Wildwood Golf and Country Club and VFW Post 3509 of Wildwood. He was a devoted husband and father.

Mr. Hewett is survived by his wife of sixty years, Sylvia (nee Kajander); his sons, John W. Hewett, Jr. of North Cape May, and William Hewett of Rio Grande; his brother, Frederick Hewett of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his nieces, Nancy K. Minarik of Clermont, Francine Baglia of Virginia, and Judy Van Zant of Media, PA; one grandson; and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be to the First Baptist Church, 101 South Main Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Hewitt, Mark P.

Hewitt, Mark Paul, 50, of Villas, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday April 16, 2009. Born in Cape May Court House to Elton and Alberta (Dabler) Hewitt, he was a life long resident of Cape May County. He worked as a roofer in the family business. Along with his parents, Mark is survived by his children, Mark and Joey Miller, and Marie Hewitt; his brothers, Kevin (Tina) Maui Hi, Shelby (Kathy) Hewitt of N. Cape May, Raymond (Debbie) of N. Cape May, and Kenny (Chrisann) of Villas; his sisters, Theresa (Dave) McPherson of Villas, and Kimberly (Walt) Kubiak of N. Cape May; his companion Melanie; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Gregory, and his sister Donna.

Graveside services will be at Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery, 780 Seashore Road, Cold Spring, NJ on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

Hewitt, Adeline

ADELINE (nee PARSONS) HEWITT, 95- of Ocean View, formerly on Woodbine passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Crest Haven Nursing Home, Cape May Court House. Born in Dennis Township (8-5-11), she has been a lifetime Cape May County resident. She was a seamstress at the Clothing Factory and Woodbine State School, both in Woodbine until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ocean View, and then of Gethsemane Baptist Church of Woodbine.

She was predeceased by her husband Howard Hewitt, son, Charles Hewitt, parents, Clara and Thomas Parsons, sisters, Edith Wilson, Amanda Kendall, Martha Robinson, Lillian Reeves, and brother Samuel.

Adeline is survived by her daughter, Anna Mae Bateson, of Ocean View, and son, Howard Hewitt Jr. of Texas; her grandchildren, Patricia (Tom) Baker of Key Largo, Fl., Joseph (Cindy) Petrella, Eugene (Debbie) Petrella, of Ocean View, Mark (Kim) Petrella, of Linwood, Candy(Brady) White, of Texas, Jackie and Kirk Hewitt, of Millville; her nieces, MaryEllen (Daryl) McClain and Ruth (Orsini) Kubiak, and 11 wonderful great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist cemetery, Ocean View. Hewitt, Rose Helen

Rose Helen Hewitt, 86, of Wildwood, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Seashore Gardens Nursing Home, Galloway Township. Born in Wildwood to the late Norris A. and Florence (Colberg) Witzell, she was a lifetime resident of this area.

She is survived by her daughter, Billie Staller (Alan) of Margate; her brother, Ross Witzell (Mary Jane) of Levittown, PA; her granddaughter, Laurie Frebowitz (Edward) of Nashville, TN; her grandson, Paul Staller (Jessica) of Los Angeles, CA; her nieces and nephews, Gloria Haferkamp (Harry), Allen Witzell, Douglass Witzell, Wayne Witzell, Nicky Witzell, Bruce Sheldon (Diane), David Sheldon (Susan), and Brian Sheldon; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Ocean City, 1 Shelter Road, Ocean City, NJ 08226.

Hewitt, Joseph A.

JOSEPH A. HEWITT of Leisuretowne, in Southampton, NJ passed away on Monday, July 4, 2005, at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Center in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was 72 years of age. Born in Nutley, NJ, he resided in Southampton for the past 7 years moving there from Little Falls, NJ where he lived for 35 yrs. A retired Marketing Director for ITT in Manhattan, NY and a long time entrepreneur, Joe was an avid golfer and member of the Red Lion Golf Association. He was involved in many charitable functions including a chairman for the TOUCH Golf Outing and also served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is the beloved husband of Virginia Ann (Nee Wittlieb) Hewitt and the loving Father of Joseph A. Hewitt Jr. of Verona, NJ, Michael C. Hewitt of Manahawkin, NJ, Joyce M. Miller of Voorhees, NJ, Susan C. Schaper of Medford, NJ and Jennifer A. Prouse of Medford, NJ. He is also survived by his 8 Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Church, Medford Lakes-Tabernacle Rd. in Tabernacle, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Hiatt, Audrey E.

AUDREY E. HIATT, of West Long Branch, died Saturday June 24, 2006 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Rutherford before moving to West Long Branch 17 years ago. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Michael's RC Church, West End.

Daughter of the late George and Lillian Ahlmeyer, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul D. Hiatt, two sons, Paul D. , Jr., Jersey City and Alan, Rutherford, two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Hiatt, West Long Branch and Linda and Alan Pinkall, New Hampshire, two sisters, Agnes Ahlmeyer, Rutherford and Theresa Indyk, Avon, and 2 grandchildren, Kelsey and Ryan Pinkall.

Visitation will be on Monday June 26 from 7 to 9 PM at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch. The funeral will be Tuesday June 27th at 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Michael's RC Church, West End. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery in Oceanport.

Hibbs, Vincent James

HIBBS, Vincent James, on August 11, 2004, of Mt. Laurel NJ, formerly of Marlton & Brigantine. Age 69. Beloved husband of Patricia Hibbs (nee Brophy). Loving father of Vincent Jr. (Vicki), Patrick (Janell), John (Renee), Darren (Beth), Christopher (Elisa), Colleen Hibbs Aaron (Bob), and Kerri Hibbs Walsh (Tony) and loving grandfather of Johanna, Shay, Laura, Casey, Ali, Joe, Alex, Max, Christopher, Meghan, Scott, Ciara & Kaelin. Dear brother of Eleanor Tate. Mr. Hibbs retired in 1992 after 52 years with the UA Local 322 Plumbers & Pipefitters of Winslow. He had worked at the Salem Nuclear Plant, Virtua West Jersey Hospital Marlton & the Tropicana and Taj Mahal Casinos. He was a baseball coach and member of the Marlton Rec Council, also an active member of St. Joan of Arc Church. And an avid Phillies fan. Gladys K. Hibbs, 79, of Pitman formerly of Williamstown died Saturday Dec. 29, at her home.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 52 years, Nelson D. (Doug); son N. Douglass Hibbs Jr. of Dallas, TX; 2 daughters Judith M. Hibbs of Barnsboro and Barbara Ann Mangum of Tequesta, FL; grandchild Susie Conklin and sister Marjorie K. Irelan of Bridgeton. She is predeceased by her son Glen Alan Hibbs.

Gladys loved animals and enjoyed her trips to the casinos playing the slot machines.

Interment private. Arrangements are made by the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.

HICKEY, Raymond J., Jr. on May 29, 2008 of Marlton NJ. Age 75. Beloved husband of Doris Hickey (nee Johnson). Loving father of David and John Hickey and Linda Myers and her husband, David. Dear grandfather of Sarah. He is the brother of Daniel Hickey, Patricia Conner and Peggy Beauleaux. A 27 year veteran of the US NAVY, Mr. Hickey served during the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He retired as a military contractor from Vitro. Hickman, Paulette K.

Paulette K. Hickman, 61, of Rio Grande, formerly of Green Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Salem to the late Dwight Marion and Mary Kathleen (Allen) McCracken, she moved to this area in 1969. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was formerly employed at the post offices in Green Creek and Whitesboro. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Hickman is survived by her children, Amy L. Lord and her husband, Stephen of Cape May Court House, Justin Hickman and his wife, Angela of South Dennis, Jason Hickman of Woodstown, and Darcy Hargest and her husband, Tom of Goshen; her brother and sisters, Jack McCracken of Monroeville, Jean Foster, Betty Hiles, both of Harrisonville, and Nancy Thomas of Aldine; her seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ricky, Jason Jr., Alyse, Summer, Isabel, and Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Hickman, Lewis

Lewis Hickman, 83, of Millville, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at home. Born in South Dennis to the late Clayton and Cora Hickman, he moved to Millville 50 years ago from Dennisville. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was employed as a prison guard at Southern State Prison. He was a member of the American Legion Post 82 in Millville and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and doing yardwork.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife, Lillian; his sons, Charles Hickman and wife, Linda and Jayson Hickman both of Millville; his daughter, Lou Ann Phillips of Millville; his three grandchildren, Andrea, Nicole, and Jamie; and his nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Hickman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Union cemetery, South Dennis. Memorial donations may be made to NJ Cuidado Casero Hospice, 45 West Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.

Hickman, Sr., Lewis Gordon

Lewis Gordon Hickman, Sr., 61, of Lee Mont, Virginia, formerly of South Dennis, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post 1400 in Virginia.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his son, Lewis Hickman, II of Belleplain; his sister, Jeanette Vistenzo; his grandson, Lewis Hickman, III of Folsom; his granddaughters, Kendall Hickman, Angelica Hickman, both of Folsom, and Clarissa Hickman of Belleplain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Esther Hickman; his brothers, Somers and Claude Hickman; and his sister, Hazel Tomlin.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Union cemetery, South Dennis.
