Mary C. Capone

Mary C. Capone, 78, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., Pa.

She was a packer for 17 years at OPT Industries, Lopatcong Twp., retiring in 1991.

Born July 22, 1926 in Easton, Mary was a daughter of the late Toby and Lena Ritchey Cosentino.

Her husband, Richard, died in 1966.

Mary is survived by a son, Richard S. and his wife Katherine of Center Barnstead, NH; two daughters, Lucy A. Capone of Phillipsburg and Mary "Connie" Jones and her husband Clarence of Palmer Twp.; a sister, Stella Rush of Plainfield Twp.; 6 grandchildren, Shannon Kirk, Barandt, Adam and Michael Capone, Jason Jones and Matthew Capone-Deemer and one great-grandson, 18 month old Max Kirk whom brought her great joy. A brother John Consentino died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ss. Philip and James cemetery , Greenwich Twp.

Grace M. Carlotz

Grace M. Carlotz, 66, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, January 11, 2000 in the Radiant Star Rest Home in Harmony Township, NJ.

Born August 4, 1933 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Michael J., Sr., and Jennie Merlo Frinzi.

She graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1950.

She attended St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Gearinger of Easton and a brother, Michael J. "Duke" Frinzi, Jr. of Pohatcong Twp. A brother, Dominic M. "Mickey" Frinzi and a granddaughter, Cortney Deborah Gearinger died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will take place in the Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, PO Box 215, Phillipsburg, NJ 00865-0215.

Anthony J. Casciole, Sr.

Anthony J. Casciole, Sr., 76, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, September 24, 2004 in SCCI Hospital, Wilson Borough.

He worked for the State of New Jersey for 25 years, retiring in 1995 as the Superintendent of Grounds at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton.

Born March 1, 1928 in Wilson Borough, he was a son of the late Leonard, Sr., and Mary Muretta Casciole.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was an Army corporal in the Korean War, serving with the 28th Signal Corp., 28th Infantry Division.

He and his wife, the former Sophia Mackera observed their 53rd wedding anniversary April 4th.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Anthony Jr., of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Diane Dalrymple of White Twp., N.J.; three brothers, Nicholas of Palmer Twp., Richard of Forks Twp., and Louis of Wilson Borough and a sister, Mary Rebman of Easton; two grandsons, Ryan and Adam Casciole. Two brothers, Leonard Jr., and James both died earlier.

Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. in the Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

Mary T. Casey

Mary T. Casey, 65, of Glendon, died Monday, March 20, 1995 in her home.

She had worked for the former Chipman Knitting Mills, West Easton as a pairer.

Born January 20, 1930 in Plymouth, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Abahowski Doran.

She attended the Glendon United Methodist Church, Glendon.

She was a member of the Avona volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Avona Heights.

Her husband, John E. "Jack" died in 1984.

Survivors include a son, Jack E. of Hampton, NH; four daughters, Mary Ann "Randie" Zapko, Palm Harbor, Fla, Veronica A. Shaffer of Glendon, Loretta C. Lester of Williams Twp. and Loraine C. Haydt at home; one brother, John of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sisters, Rita McGuiness and Margaret Buscemi, both of Easton and Rose Casey of Avona Heights and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be hetd 11:00 AM Friday in the Glendon United Methodist Church, 3 High St., Glendon. Calling hours will be held Thursday, 7-9 PM in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ and 10-11 AM Friday in the church. Private cremation will follow the services.

The family requests memorials to the Salvation Army, 214 Spring Garden St., Easton, PA 18042 or to the Church building fund in her name.

William J. Casey, Sr.

William J. Casey, Sr., age 75 years, of Morris Park, Lopatcong Twp., NJ, died Saturday, March 1, 1997 in his home.

He was a machinist for the Cameron Division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., in Phillipsburg, NJ for 43 years, retiring in 1983.

Born December 25, 1921 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Veronica McNulty Casey, Sr.

He was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War Two, from July 29, 1943 to August 19, 1945, and served in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War Two Victory Medal.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg and was a 1939 graduate of St. Philip and St. James Catholic High School.

He was a member of the Bernardine-May American Legion Post #457, and the United Steel Workers Union, Local 5503, both in Phillipsburg.

He and his wife, the former Helen G. Svachak observed their fifty-third wedding anniversary last June 26th.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, William J., Jr. of Lopatcong Twp., Thomas A. at home, Charles E. of Albuquerque, NM, Richard P. of Parsippany, NJ, Joseph P. of Flower Mound, Texas; six daughters, Patricia A. Rice of Veazie, Maine , Helen E. Giammarinaro of Forks Twp., PA, Mary E. of Bethlehem, PA, Jean M. at home, Veronica B. of Easton, PA and Ann Marie Heater of Forks Twp., PA; three sisters, Mary C. Ward of Phillipsburg, Margaret Salitz of New Brunswick, NJ and Veronica Wynkoop of Phillipsburg; seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchild and two step grandchildren.

Five brothers, Edward C. Jr., Charles E., Leo P., Robert J., Sr. and John E., all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St, Phillipsburg. Calling hours will be 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 Tuesday in the funeral home. Private cremation services will take place immediately following the Mass on Wednesday. Entombment of the cremains will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ., at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Karen Ann Qunilan, Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave, Newton, NJ 07860-2614, or to the Church, 430 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865-3031. Contributions will also be accepted at the funeral home during the calling hours.

Arthur P. Castaldi

Arthur P. Castaldi, 85 of Harmony Township, died peacefully on Thursday, September 15 in New Eastwood Nursing Home, Wilson Borough.

Born September 11, 1920 in Netcong, N.J., he was a son of the late Carmine and Jennie Esposito Castaldi.

Mr. Castaldi graduated from Dover High School in 1938 where he played football.

In 1985, he retired from Hoffman-LaRoche in Belvidere after 17 years of service, where he also served on the Roche Heavy Rescue Team. Previously, he was a chemical laboratory technician for General Aniline and Film Corporation in South Easton for more then 25 years, retiring in 1971.

Mr. Castaldi served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist Mate, 1st Class, serving aboard the L.S.M. Landing 307, serving in Okinawa, Guam and Hawaii receiving the Navy Medal, World War II Victory Metal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Honorable Service Pin and Button.

Arthur and his wife, the former Agnes M. Rossi celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage September 7th.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Belvidere for 53 years and also served as usher for many years. He was also a member of St. Philips and St. James' Over-Fifties Club and served as an officer of the Holy Name Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian G. and his wife Coreen of Lolo, Montana, a daughter, Elaine M. Young at home; three brothers, Victor of Owasso, Oklahoma, Louis of Netcong, N.J. and Valentino of Dover, N.J.; three sisters, Sara Mercure and Madeline Pollison, both of Succasunna, N.J. and Marie Broadhurst of Port Orange, Fl; grandchildren, Jill M. Young, Sara, Nicholas, Kate and Emma Castaldi. Two brothers Philip and Lawrence died earlier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 327 Greenwich St., Belvidere, N.J. The Rev. Charles Sabella will be the celebrant of the Mass. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. Sunday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in St. Philip and St. James cemetery , Greenwich Twp. .

Frank J. Catino

Frank J. "Peaches" Catino, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, one day before his 91st birthday, in the Lopatcong Center.

Frank retired after forty-three years of service from Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company, Phillipsburg, where he began when it was known as the Warren Pipe and Foundry.

Born October 18, 1916, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Filomena Rubano Catino.

He was an active member most of his life of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Phillipsburg, where he served on the vestry, as a youth group advisor, usher, grounds keeper and organized many fund raising events for many years.

Frank was a Corporal in the Army during World War Two and served with Cannon Company, 310th Infantry 78th Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal, Good Conduct medal, European-African-Middle Eastern medal with two Bronze Stars and the World War Two Victory medal.

His wife of fifty-two years, the former Mary Brailo died in 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Catino Moser, of Bethlehem; brothers, Louis, of Roseto, Pat of Coplay and Sigmund, Palma and Peter, all of Pen Argyl; a sister, Phyllis Becker of Bethlehem, seven grandchildren, Kelly Fox, Frank Wismer, Sandra Youpa, Gina Stocker, Ann Marie Sabo, Daniel Wismer and David Cerino, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and his companion, Marie Lane. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Mariaelena Cerino, brothers, Ernest, Anthony and Charles and sisters, Mamie DeNardo and Josephine Abruzzeze.

Services will begin 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Funeral Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. in the church, 500 Hillcrest Blvd, Phillipsburg. Interment will follow in the Calvary cemetery , Harmony Township, NJ. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.

Gerald T. Cavaluzzo

Gerald Todd "Jerry" Cavaluzzo, 42, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 in Stewartsville, NJ.

Jerry formerly owned and operated his own construction business, Cavaluzzo Construction, in Stewartsville.

Born April 11, 1965 in Raritan Township, NJ, he was a son of the late John A. and Evelyn Abbey Cavaluzzo.

He attended the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, Phillipsburg.

Jerry and his wife, the former Karen E. Neigh celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary September 20, 2006.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Christopher G. Cavaluzzo of Wilson Borough, Pa.; a daughter, Kayla Rose Cavaluzzo of Phillipsburg; two step-daughters, Heather L. Hartranft of Stewartsville and Amanda E. Hartranft of Phillipsburg; a brother and his fiancée, Guy Cavaluzzo and Amanda Shotwell and their two children, Amber and Kirsten, all of Hackettstown, NJ.

A remembrance gathering will be held at a later day. There will be no visitation. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, is handling the arrangements.

Ralph Celia

Raffaele "Ralph" Celia, 82, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, November 24, 2003 in Warren Hospital.

Born August 20, 1921 in Petrizzi, Province di Catanzaro, Italy, he was a son of the late Francesco and Marietta Jiorle Celia.

His wife of 53 years, the former Theresa Piperata died April 30, 2002.

He was a retired laborer for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg. He formerly worked for Harmony Dye Works in Easton, the former Warren Foundry, Phillipsburg and also worked for area contractors as a bricklayer and mason.

He was a veteran of World War Two, serving with the Italian Army, 48th Regiment, Artillery di Montangna, from 1941 to 1945. During that time, he was captured as a prisoner of war and held in the German concentration camps.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed various activities at the Phillipsburg Senior Center and being a member of their Friendship Group.

Survivors include a daughter Toni E. Colello and her husband, Ronald of Hackettstown; two grandchildren, Brian and Nicole Colello; two brothers, Anthony and Vito Celia, both of Phillipsburg and a sister, Jean DiBilio of Nazareth. A brother Louis died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in the church, 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp. A calling hour will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 am Wednesday in the funeral home.

Theresa Celia

Theresa Celia, 87, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002 in her home.

She was a former sewing machine operator for the Northampton Pants Co., Easton.

Born January 3, 1915 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria (Barbuto) Piperata.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She and her husband, Ralph Celia observed their fifty-third wedding anniversary February 19th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Toni E. Colello of Hackettstown; two brothers, Peter of Pohatcong Twp., and Nicholas of Phillipsburg and two grandchildren. Three brothers, Frank, Dominick and Joseph all died earlier.

Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp., NJ. A calling hour will be held from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.

Mamie Cerino

Mamie Cerino, 87, of Lopatcong Twp., formerly of Bangor, Pa., died Thursday, January 1, 2004, in the Lopatcong Center.

She was a former garment worker.

Born February 25, 1916 in Roseto, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Rose Martino Casciano.

She was a former member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, Bangor.

Her husband, the Anthony Cerino died earlier.

Survivors include a son, David A. of Lopatcong Twp.; a daughter, Wanda Bush of Stroudsburg; a brother Fred Casciano; two grandchildren, David A. Jr., and Gina Stocker and two great-granddaughters, Casey and Abby Stocker. Three sisters died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Plainfield cemetery , Plainfield Twp., Pa. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

John James Chelton

John James Chelton, 34, of Lopatcong Twp., died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in his home.

Born March 2, 1970 in Morristown, he was a son of Elizabeth Coughlan Chelton and the late James L. Chelton, Jr.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, James L. Chelton, III.

Memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
