Lamanna, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Lamanna, 89, of Clermont, NJ, died on Thursday, January 1, 2004, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Carmello and Catherine Foti Catanoso, and lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph's RC Church of Sea Isle City, NJ, and was a retired LPN having worked at Mercy Hosptial and Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Lamanna is survived by a daughter: Marilyn Petitto and husband, Low, of Clermont, NJ; sons: Louis and wife, Rosemary, of Seaville, NJ, and Peter and wife Joyce of Medford, NJ; brothers: Anthony (Phyllis) Catanoso of Florida and North Wildwood, NJ, Leonard (Connie) Catanoso of Florida and Clermont, NJ, Joseph (Millie) Catanoso of Wildwood, NJ, Charles (Louise) Catanoso of Florida and Rio Grande, NJ, and Peter (Carol) Catanoso of Villas, NJ; sisters: Leona Betz of Wildwood Crest, NJ, and Mary Nestor of North Wildwood, NJ; brother-in-law: Louis Lamanna of Ocean City, NJ and Washington, DC; grandchildren: Louis and Tammy Lamanna of Mays Landing, NJ, Anthony of Clermont, NJ, Gina Lamanna of California, Dean Lamanna of Medford, NJ and California, Lisa Lamanna of Medford, NJ, Mark and Perry Lamanna of Texas; and three great grandchildren of Texas.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, January 5, 2004, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church, 4400 Landis Av., Sea Isle City, NJ, where friends may call at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth's cemetery, Goshen, NJ. Lamb, Kevin Michael

Kevin Michael Lamb, age 17, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Monday, December 28, 2009, from injuries in an auto accident.

He was born in Annapolis, MD, the son of Michael J. Lamb and Caryn Rixey and was a lifetime resident here.

Kevin was a senior at the Cape May County Technical High School where he played basketball, soccer and ran cross country. He played sports for the Middle Township Rec Department before entering high school. He was employed at ACME in Cape May Court House as a cashier.

He was an avid music lover creating his own rap music, playing guitar and playing on-line games and being on his computer.

He is survived by his mother, Caryn Rixey and her husband, Robert; his father, Michael John Lamb of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his maternal grandparents: Joseph and Hilda Cotrufello of Brigantine; his paternal grandmother, Helen Lamb of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his aunts and uncles: Michael and Elizabeth Cotrufello; James and Violet Rixey and Richard and Mary Rixey; step-brother, Robert Rixey (Leigh) and Carol Karavangelas (George); cousins: Emily and Sean Cotrufello; his dog "Harley" and numerous friends including Brandon and Michael Devitt; Cole Accardi; Seth Kelly, Josh Johnson, Liz Van Trieste and Shane Pinckney.

A service for Kevin will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 10:30 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where relatives and friends may visit 9 to 10:30 am. Interment will be private.

LA MORTE, ARTHUR A., on December 23, 2006 of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Bronx, NY. Age 91. Beloved husband of the late Rose (nee Manna). Devoted father of Frank and his wife Ann and Peter. Langberg, Edwin

LANGBERG, EDWIN, on December 11, 2006, age 81, of Lumberton, NJ. Son of the late Samuel Langberg and Rosa Nacht. Beloved husband of Julia Kozubal Langberg. Also survived by sons Mike (Debra) Langberg of Cupertino, CA, and Jonathan (Jill) Langberg of Atlanta, GA, half-brother Anatole (Pnina) Langberg of Haifa, Israel, and three grandchildren.

Edwin was born on April 6, 1925, in Drohobycz, Poland. At the age of 16, after the Nazis invaded eastern Poland and began exterminating the Jewish population, he fled and survived the war years by assuming a series of false identities, ultimately fighting against the Nazis in the Polish Air Force. Edwin told his remarkable story in his autobiography, "Sara's Blessing," published in 2003.

Edwin came to the United States in 1949, settling first in Philadelphia. He graduated from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania in 1953, and received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1956. In a long career as an entrepreneur and inventor, Edwin accumulated more than 22 patents in electronics and biomedical engineering.

LANGBORGH, Margaret Irwin, on October 8, 2008, of Cherry Hill NJ, formerly of Beach Haven and Chatham NJ. Loving mother of Richard and his wife, Barbara of Olean NY, Peter and his wife, Gwyn of Cherry Hill and Daniel and his wife, Janet of Chatham NJ. Dear grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in law, Janice Irwin and 4 nephews and their families. She was the former wife of Howard Victor Langborgh. Mrs. Langborgh was an alumnus of Connecticut College and a member of the American Association of University Women. Langdon, Sr., Kenneth Eugene

Kenneth Eugene Langdon, Sr., age 44, of Hamilton Township, NJ, died on Thursday, November 6, 2009, at the Absecon Manor.

He was born in Atlantic City, NJ, the son of the late Eugene E. and Dolores F. Liepe Langdon. He was a mechanic all of his life and was employed as fleet mechanic for the Stroehmann Bakeries, Inc. for five years until he was injured on December 9, 2008. He was an avid motorcyclist and hunter and enjoyed building model airplanes. He served in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie D.; two sons: Kenneth E., Jr. of Egg Harbor Township and Sebastian C. at home; a step daughter: Samantha C. Hand at home and three sisters: Deborah Bingham, Rose Langdon and Shirley Armbruster, all of Mays Landing.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00am at the Moravian Church, 235 Boston Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ, where relatives and friends may call at 10:00am. Langley, Helen D.

Helen D. Langley, age 82 years, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Eastern Shore Nursing Home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William J. Menold & Elizabeth Robinson and retired as a Cashier from Handyman Haven Hardware Store in North Cape May. Helen enjoyed painting and had an appreciation for art.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Langley in 1985. She is survived by her two daughters; Patricia H. and her husband Ed Nesbitt of Cape May Court House & Debra A. and her husband Bill Noe of Delmont, her brother Edward Menold of Sickerville, two nieces; Janice and her husband Ed Wilson of Villas & Thelma and her husband Buddy Frank of North Wildwood, four grandchildren; Edwin, Scott, Stephan & Damon and three great grand children.

Funeral Service 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 pm. Interment in Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Langley, Rev. Earl W.

REV. EARL W. LANGLEY, 67, of LONG BRANCH, died Sunday, Dec. 29 at the Hospital Center at Orange in Orange. obitpix He was a dedicated police officer for the City of Long Branch for 29 years before retiring as corporal in 1993. He received many departmental citations. He served as chaplin for the Long Branch Policemen's Benevolent Association, and as pastor at McLaughlin Faith Pentecostal Church, Long Branch. He was the presiding Elder of the New Jersey Region, a member of the Official Board of the Pentecostal Faith Church of All Nations, and a community friend and leader. Born in Grimesland, N.C., he lived there before moving to Long Branch in 1955.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth E. and Theresa Langley of Long Branch; three daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry Langley, Rochelle Langley, and Veronica and Jimmy Langley-Stephens, all of Long Branch; a brother, Herbert Langley of North Carolina; two sisters, Barbara and Louise Langley, both of Baltimore; an aunt, Nina Dickens of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jerrod and Jessica Langley; and his special friend, Elder Carol Bennett of Long Branch.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty St., Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church, followed by interment at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Lantelme, Robert E.

ROBERT E. LANTELME of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 8th, 2008 at the Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was 76 yrs. of age. Born in Jamaica, NY, he is the son of the late Edgar & Elsie Lantelme. The former owner of BSL Construction in Medford Lakes, NJ, he has been a resident there since 1959. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and a member of the Old Guard and has been involved in construction his whole life working for Brick Homes, US Steel, Univac, Ford Motor Co. and many other businesses. He has also been involved in real estate and was a Realtor and was a member of the Protestant Community Church in Medford Lakes, NJ. A veteran of the Army, he was a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War. He is the Beloved Husband of 53 yrs. of Sheila M. (Nee Rougvie) Lantelme and the Loving Father of Bruce E. and his wife Martha E. of Winston-Salem, NC, Beth Anne Bangs and her husband Donald of Southampton, PA and Robert Scot and his wife Klarisa J. of Pine Hill, NJ. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth John Lantelme of Dataw Island, SC and his Grandchildren Adam David Lantelme, Zachary James Lantelme, Donald Sevrin, Timothy Ryan, Jeffrey Robert and Corey Michael Bangs. Cherished great-grandfather of Gabriel and Julian Venuto.

Beloved step-father of Charles Marandino, Rosemarie Domenico and her husband Joseph Domenico, and Jack Marandino and his wife Elizabeth. Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Flocco) and his son Johnny. Sal will always be remembered by his family and friends that are left behind as a sweet and gentle man who filled their hearts with much love, laughter and respect. Lappin, Thomas

Thomas Lappin, 73, of Cape May Court House, died on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at home. He was born in Pennsylvania and moved to this area in 1974 from Havertown, PA. He and his late wife, Marie, owned and operated the Nob Hill Gift Shop in Stone Harbor, NJ until retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, who he married on May 27, 1950 and will be celebrating their 54th anniversary with her.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancie M. Iacona of Washington Township, NJ; two sons, Steven P. of Upper Darby, PA, and Paul M. and his wife, Joan of South Dennis, NJ; a brother, David Lappin of North Carolina; a sister, Patricia Miller of Cape May Court House, NJ; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery.

Marie Elizabeth Lappin, 69, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Saturday, December 8, 2001, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. She was born in Philadelphia and was an area resident since 1974 moving from Havertown, Pa.

She had been a faculty secretary at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. before opening the Nob Hill Gift Shop in Stone Harbor and operating it until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; a daughter, Nancie M. Iacona of Washington Township, NJ; two sons: Steven P. of Upper Darby, Pa. and Paul M. of South Dennis, NJ.; a brother, Charles Melough of Lafayette Hills, Pa.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at 11 am. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will be in the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ.

Lapresti, Billie Blaisdell

Billie Blaisdell Lapresti, age 91 of Eatontown, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was co-owner of Steve's Bait and Tackle Shop, Long Branch for twenty years before retiring. Born in Omaha, NE, she lived in Perth Amboy before moving to Eatontown 37 years ago. Surviving is her husband, whom she married on August 18, 1956, Joseph Lapresti; a brother, Charles Blaisdell; and a sister, Fern Wright, both of Alexandria, LA.

A committal service will be held at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport on Friday, June 24, at 9:30am. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.
