Laquer, Chris

Chris Laquer, 79, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, died on May 16, 2006. She was born on January 25, 1927 in Altus, Oklahoma, and spent most of her early years in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. At. 16, she moved to live with her Aunt Marge in Washington, D.C. where she met her husband, Ulric, a pre-medical student still in the Army. They were married on March 16, 1946 at the First Unitarian Church of Germantown, Philadelphia. They had four children, Richard, Thomas, Brenda and Barbara, and celebrated their 60th wedding aniversary at Wooddale Village, Sun City, Arizona.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House, New Jersey, with a Celebration of Her Life immediately following at the Cape May County Museum.

Laquer, Christine DeArmond

Christine DeArmond Laquer, 79, a former resident of Cape May Court House, NJ, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006. She was born on January 25, 1927 in Altus, OK, and spent most of her early years in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. At the age of 16, she moved to live with her Aunt Marge in Washington, DC, where she me her husband, Ulric, a pre-medical student still in the Army. They were married on March 16, 1946 at the First Unitarian Church in Germantown, PA, and had four children: Richard, Thomas, Brenda, and Barbara. Dr. and Mrs. Laquer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Wooddale Village, Sun City, AZ, where they resided. She had a life long interest in art and became an accomplished painter in her own right. She and her husband moved to Cape May Court House, NJ in 1949, where Dr. Laquer established a family practice and then purchased the Robert Morris Holmes House in 1957. The restoration was accomplished by Joel Robinson under Christine's watchful eye. The property was then sold in 1975 to the Cape May County Historical Society when they moved to San Antonio, TX, and then retired to Arizona in 1987.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Rd., Absecon, NJ 08201, or the Clarence Davies Sports Complex, c/o Middle Township Recreation Department, 33 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, ATTN: Mary Kate.

Larch, Blanche Archut

LARCH, Blanche Archut died peacefully on April 7, 2008, of Marlton NJ Age 72. She is the loving mother of Alice Munsey and her husband, David, Linda Eckert and her husband, David, Chuck Larch and Diane Clark and her husband, Jeffrey. Blanche will also be missed by her 6 grandchildren; Tiffany, Jessica, Nicholas, Victoria, Olivia and Samantha and her great granddaughter, Leah. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Joseph Archut and many loving nieces and nephews. Blanche was the daughter of the late Alice Marie and the late Alfred A. Archut and the sister of the late Robert Archut and the late Marie Connelly. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday from 9-10am at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Church Willow Bend Rd. Marlton. Entombment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blanche's memory to the American Cancer Society 1851 Old Cuthbert Road Cherry Hill NJ 08034.

Large, Violet

Violet Large, age 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Cape Regional Medical Center. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and lived in Petersburg for many years. She was a retired seamstress for the Feit Clothing company in Woodbine. She was an avid bingo player; enjoyed crocheting; fishing and being on the water.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice M. Ellison of Cape May Court House and a son, Charles G. Center of Laurel Lake; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment are private. Memorials in her name may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, 40 Rt. 47 South, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Laricks, Louise W.

Louise W. Laricks, age 96, of Sea Isle City, NJ, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2008, at The Shores at Wesley Manor, Ocean City, NJ. She was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Irwin Wick. She lived in Carlstadt, NJ prior to moving here in 1946.

She was a graduate of Rider College with a degree in Business Education, taught business in East Rutherford High School, and was a substitute teacher for the Sea Isle City School System. She was a member of the United Methodist Church here. She was a real estate broker/owner of the Larick's Real Estate firm here for fifty years. She also had an insurance brokers' license. She was an avid golfer, bowler and swimmer having memberships in the Wildwood Golf and Country Club and the Seashore Bowling League. She was a past secretary of the local Chamber of Commerce; the Republican Club; the Order of the Eastern Star and the Cape May County Board of Realtors. She also was a world traveler and spent her winters in North Palm Beach, FL.

She is survived by a son, Donald A. and his wife, Elvira of Sea Isle City, NJ; a sister, Marie Wright of Seaville, NJ; three grandchildren: Dana (Bob) Little, Daron Laricks, and Dustin (Debra) Laricks; and five great grandchildren: Theresa Laricks, Matthew, and Jocelyn Little, and Dustin and Peyton Laricks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Laricks, former Cape May County Surrogate.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, JFK Blvd. and Park Road, Sea Isle City, NJ, where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Calvary Baptist cemetery, Ocean View, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, JFK Blvd., Sea Isle City, NJ 08243.

Larkin, Evelyn Mae

Evelyn Mae Evie (nee Diggins) Larkin AGE: 90

Born: Philadelphia, PA HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF Marcus Hook, PA for 82 years, BEFORE MOVING TO Middletown Twp., PA, 8 years ago.

EMPLOYMENT: In her younger years she worked as a Glass Worker at Viscoe, Marcus Hook, PA

ORGANIZATIONS: CHURCH: Member St Martin's Episcopal Church, Boothwyn, PA

Other: A homemaker who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, bowling and travelling.

SURVIVORS: Wife of the late Douglas Arthur Larkin who died in 1995; She is survived by her Daughter and Son-Law who cared for her Sandra Evelyn & R. Craig McKinley of Middletown Twp., PA; Two Sisters: Dorothy Dot MacColl of Folsom, PA and Ruth Smith of Folsom, PA. Also survived by Two Grandchildren and One Great-Grandson; Sister of the late Lewis Diggins.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Burial Office with Requiem Eucharist will begin on Monday 11:00 am from St Martin's Episcopal Church, 700 Meetinghouse Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment Siloam United Methodist Church cemetery, Bethel Twp., PA. Larkin, James J.

James J. Larkin, 74, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Charles Anthony and Marie (McCrossin) Larkin, and moved here in 1979. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. He was a police officer for the City of Philadelphia for 24 years, retiring in 1979. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing. He was part of the Gas House Gang on Rising Sun Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

Mr. Larkin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Suzanne; his children, Alison Meredith of Dennisville, James Larkin, Jr. of Cape May Court House, Kelly Larkin of South Dennis, Sean Larkin of Cape May Court House, Thomas Larkin of Port St. John, FL, and Megan Larkin of Woodbine; his brother, Charles Larkin of Philadelphia; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Erie Avenue at Front St., Philadelphia, PA 19134.

Larkins, Clifford Harry

Clifford Harry Larkins, 89, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he has lived here for the past year coming from Fort Pierce, FL. He was a retired Automotive Salesman, an Army Air Corp World War II Veteran, a 50 year member of the Shriner Amara Temple of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a 32 Degree Mason with the Radiance Star Lodge in Hatboro, PA, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Salem, NJ, and a member of the Order Of Eastern Star in Port St. Lucie, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude S.; daughter, Joyce Morris of Salem, NJ; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services and interment are private.

LaROCK, Virginia

On Wednesday, August 20, 2003 our beloved Virginia LaRock fell asleep in death.

Ginny, as she was called, was born Sept. 5, 1929 to Addie Horton White and George Daniel White in Orwell, NY. Ginny was sister to seven siblings; Vera, Mable, Mertice, Everett, Harwood, Flora and Paul.

She was united in marriage to Basil Eugene LaRock on July 1, 1949. Of their union, five children were born; David, Barbara, Noreen (Fougeray), Douglas and Daniel.

Ginny was not only a loving wife and mother, but also enjoyed a lengthy career with Zurich American Insurance Co. where she made many friendships. She lived in Tricia Meadows in Mt Laurel, NJ where she again developed many close friends.

Ginny leaves to mourn her five devoted children, her five grandchildren; Christine, Ron, Rick, Dana and Doug; her sister and brother Mable and Paul, along with a host of friends.

Friends are invited to greet the family 9:30-10:30am Saturday at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. Memorial Service 10:30am Saturday at the Funeral Home. Inurnment Berlin Cem., Berlin.

Larosa, William J.

William J. LaRosa, Sr. of Williamstown, NJ, on December 16, 2000. Age 83 years. Beloved husband of Betty Jane (nee Clemens). Devoted father of Dianne Collins, Marolyn Updike, Betsey Parham and William J. LaRosa, Jr. Loving grandfather of Kenny, Jimmy and Bryan Collins, Natalie and William LaRosa III, and Christopher and Jonathan Updike, and great-grandfather of Kristine, Daniel and Liam. Dear brother of Frances LaPorta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday at St. Mary's RC Church Main Street and Carrol Avenue Williamstown, NJ. A viewing will be held 6-8pm Tuesday at BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME 420 South Main Street, Williamstown (856-629-7244). Interment St. Mary's cemetery, Williamstown.

LaRosa, Betty Jane

Betty Jane LaRosa (nee Clemens), age 75, of Williamstown died Wednesday at New Seasons Assisted Living Community, Washington Twp.

Betty Jane was born in Camden and she lived in Williiamstown most of her life.

She was a former member of the Williamstown Women's Club, St. Mary's Church Choir and a Volunteer at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Washington Twp.

She is the wife of the late William J. LaRosa.

She is survived by a son William J. LaRosa Jr. of Williamstown, three daughters Dianne Collins of Williamstown, Betsey Parham of Williamstown, and Marolyn Updike of Washington Twp, a sister Pearl Rein of Williamstown, and a brother Jack Clemens of Pine Hill. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Kenny, Jimmy, Bryan, Natalie, William III, Christopher and Jonathan and three great grandchildren: Kristine, Daniel and Liam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12noon Friday at St. Mary's Church, Main Street and Carrol Avenue, Williamstown. A viewing will be held 9:30 to 11:30AM Friday at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 South Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Interment St. Mary's cemetery.

LA ROSA, Joseph R.

On July 8, 2004 of Cherry Hill, NJ. Formerly of Pennsauken, NJ and Phila. Age 70. Beloved husband of Helen (nee McKinley) Loving father of Helene LaRosa of Yardley, PA, Carmel and Guy Smith of Tuckerton, NJ, Donna and Thomas Dymond of Turnersville, NJ, JoAnne and James E. Pritts of W. Berlin, NJ, Joseph and Janice LaRosa of Hammonton, NJ and Christine and Lawrence Reeve of Washington Twp, NJ. Devoted grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 2. Larsen, Mary Stevens

Mary Stevens Larsen, age 94 of Oceanport died April 3, 2005 at home. She was a retail salesperson for Fields Department Store in Newark for 25 years, retiring in 1975. Mary enjoyed traveling the world. She was a tireless fund raiser for Deborah Heart and Lung and the American Cancer Society. She was the past president of the Women's Division of the Boys Club of Newark from 1950-1952; a long time member of the Senior Sandpiper's Club of Monmouth Beach. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Long Branch. Born in Newark she had lived in Monmouth Beach before moving to Oceanport in 1994. She was predeceased by her first husband, Matthew J. Stevens in 1984. Surviving is her husband, Albert K. Larsen; a son and daughter in law, Jan M. and Jean Stevens of Naples, FL; a daughter and son in law, Pamela S. and Charles d'Emery of Oceanport; three grandchildren, Gina Schmidt, Craig Stevens and Vincent Stevens; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 4:00-7:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 7:00 pm. Larusso, James B.

James B. Larusso, 62, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2003 at his home. He was born in Cape May Court House and was a lifetime resident here. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed general contractor and proprietor of Muscle World in Cape May Court House.

Mr. Larusso is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan (Brearly) Larusso; his brother, Robert of Cape May Court House; his sister, Elizabeth Lombardi of Philadelphia; his mother in law, Lorraine Brearly of North Cape May; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or the Humane Society of Ocean City, P.O. Box 1254, Ocean City, NJ 08226.

Lashley, Sr., Eli B.

Eli B. Lashley, Sr., 77, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2003. Born in Seaville to the late Eli and Lily (Mason) Lashley, he was a lifetime resident here. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; his sons, Leonard of Maine, Eli Jr. of Goshen, Joe of Green Creek, and David of Philadelphia; his daughters, Emma Lee of Goshen, Paula Jones of Whitesboro, Betty Jean Myers of Mayville, Rhoda Lashley of Wildwood, Lillie Moore of Goshen, Rae Ann Frank of Philadelphia, Mary Lou Horton of Millville, and Diane Lashley of Wildwood; 46 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

Lassiter, Loretta Gale

LASSITER, LORETTA GALE, June 15, 1941-January 2, 2005. Predeceased by John Willie Lassiter. Sister of Jacqueline Taylor. Mother of Michael Gregory Lassiter, Darren John Lassiter, and Pamela Lassiter Rhone. Grandmother of Krystalle Michelle Lassiter-Guzman, Michael James Lassiter, Domenic Cameron Lassiter, Victor Darren Lassiter and Darius John Lassiter. Great Grandmother of Alexys Michelle Guzman. Mother-in-law of Linda M. J. Lassiter and Patrick Andrew Rhone. Also close to Loretta's heart were: JoAnn Barnes, Linda Janet Alamo and Mark Guzman. Loretta leaves to celebrate her life, remember her love and appreciate her kindness and generosity: numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and loved ones. "We will never know how many lives Loretta touched over the years, only that those who came in contact with her will never be the same." Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday January 7, 2005, from 5:00-7:30 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 7:30 PM. Interment will be Saturday in Rolling Green cemetery, West Chester, PA. Departing from Bradley Funeral Home at 10:00 AM.
