Otton, James C.

OTTON, JAMES C., age 83, of Stone Harbor, NJ, died on Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI and lived in Springfield, PA before moving to this area over sixty years ago. Mr. Otton was a realtor owning the James C. Otton Real Estate firm in Stone Harbor. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church here. Mr. Otton had served on the Stone Harbor Board of Education; Chamber of Commerce; the Board of Realtors; he also was a member of the Stone Harbor Lions Club; the Stephen C. Ludlam Post of the American Legion; and served in the US Army during WWII as a member of the 104th Infantry of the Timberwolves, and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of the Silver Council of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Otton enjoyed golf, and was the founder of EPGASH (a golfing group), fishing and boating, and was a member of the Stone Harbor Yacht Club.

He is survived by his children: J. Geoffrey and his wife, Ann, of Cape May Court House; Joselyn O. Rich and her husband, Robert, of Stone Harbor; Sharyn O. Marrone of Atlanta, GA; and J. Craig and his wife, Lauren; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 1999, and his parents, Roland and Emogene Otton.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007, at 11 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th St. and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247. Private burial was at the convenience of the family in Fairview cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Outreach Program of St. Mary's Episcopal Church at the above address. At the conclusion of the memorial service, a time of fellowship and remembrance will be celebrated at Coldwell Banker - Otton Real Estate Office, 97th St. and Second Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ.

Overton, Gloria B.

Gloria B. Overton, 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Saturday, October 12, 2002, at the home of her daughter, Sherye Chase Pearson. Born in Mobile, AL, she was a District Sales Manager for Avon Products, New York City, NY. She has lived here in Cape May Court House for the last four years coming from Martha's Vineyard, MA, where she was a full time resident for twenty years and was a summer resident for thirty years. She was a member of Christ Gospel Church, Whitesboro; Apostolic House of Prayer, Martha's Vineyard; and Love Tabernacle Church of Yonkers, NY. She was truly a very active church member. She was a fashion model with the Bradford Agency of New York, NY, and had graduated the Institute of Fashion and Design of New York. She was a lifetime member of Auxiliary #198 of NAACP of Cape May Court House.

She is survived by her son, Frank Alexander Overton of MA; two daughters, Sherye Chase Pearson of Cape May Court House, and a special daughter Wanda Jean Myers of Martha's Vineyard; two daughters in law, Wanda Overton of Brooklyn, and Denise Van Allen Overton of Boston, MA. She was predeceased by her two sons, Lenwood Joseph Overton and Joseph "Jay" Lenwood Overton. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 15, at 12:00 noon at Christ Gospel Church, Anna St., Whitesboro, where relatives and friends may call after 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Bluffs, MA, on Thursday, October 17, at 1:00 PM. Memorials to Christ Gospel Church Building Fund, PO Box 44, Whitesboro, NJ 08252.

Overton, Frank Alexander

Frank Alexander Overton, 48, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at home. He was born in New York City, NY, and had lived here for many years. He previously lived in New Bedford, MA. He was an union organizer for Local #338, and was a self employed entrepreneur and was knwon as "Mr. Wonderful" to his many friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine; and a member of AA and NA.

He is survived by his son: Shawn Hayes Overton of North Carolina; and sister: Sherye Chase Pearson of Cape May Court House, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lenwood Joseph and Gloria B. Coleman Overton; brothers: Lenwood Joseph and Joseph Lenwood Overton; and sister: Margaret Overton.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 11:00 AM at the Christ Gospel Church, 2209 Rte. 9 South, Whitesboro, NJ, where friends may call at the Church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, MA, on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Men of Alms Ministry, First Baptist Church of Woodbine, Woodbine, NJ 08270.

Owens, Ruth M.

OWENS, On December 3, 2004, Ruth M. (nee Morrell) of Wiley Home in Marlton, formerly of Moorestown. Age 87. Beloved wife of the late Ralph H. Owens. Mother of the late Robert Owens. Sister of Wayne Morrell. Mrs. Owens was a former school teacher. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11am at the Wiley Church, 99 E Main St., Marlton. Owens, Ralph H.

OWENS, on Februaury 14, 2002, Ralph H. of Marlton, formerly of Moorestown. Age 85. Beloved husband of Ruth M. Owens. He is the father of the late Robert Owens. An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Owens was an executive and Senior Vice President for Moore Products Company of Spring Hills PA. Ownsbey, Juanita

Juanita Ownsbey, age 73 of Oakhurst, NJ, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a graduate of Atoka High School in OK. Ms. Ownsbey worked for Chrisman-Sawyer Bank and most recently Bank of Independence until her retirement. She also worked part time at The Whistle Stop in Asher, where everyone remembers her huge smile and ornery sense of humor. Her favorite role however was that of “Granny”. She loved nothing in this world more than playing with her beloved great granddaughter, Chloe. Born in Upshur County, Texas, she was a long time resident of Asher, OK, before moving to Oakhurst, NJ, to live with her granddaughter, Sheri Anderson. In addition to Ms. Anderson, she is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Ownsbey of Independence, MO; three additional grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held at Kolb cemetery in Spencer, OK, 10:00am, Saturday, March 10. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch was in charge of arrangement.

Pacana, Angelina

Angelina Pacana, 90, of Woodbine, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Chapin House. Born in Avalon to the late Tony and Maria (DiStephanio) Giampa, she was a lifetime resident of this area. She was a member of St. Casimir's Church. She taught Home Economics at Atlantic Cape Human Resources in Woodbine.

Angie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Waldron and husband, James; her son John F. Pacana and wife, Lynn; her sister, Rose Wells and husband, Marvin; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max F. Pacana on December 20, 1992.

Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Wildwood Catholic High School, 1500 Central Ave, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Pacheco, Victoria

Victoria Pacheco, 70, of Woodbine, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the First Latin Pentecostal Church of Woodbine.

She is survived by her husband, Santiago; son: Jose Manuel Bonilla of Camden, NJ; daughters: Lucy Pacheco, Hayde Turner, and Miriam Pacheco all of Woodbine, Delia Pacheco of Rio Grande, NJ, and Lillian Hubbard of Whitesboro, NJ; brothers: Jose Tirado of Woodbine and Juan Tirado of Puerto Rico; sister: Porfiria Tirado of Puerto Rico; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 27, at the First Latin Pentecostal Church, Franklin & Adams Streets., Woodbine, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Head of the River cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.

Packer, Judith A.

Judith A. Packer, age 57 years of Rio Grande, NJ died on Monday, December 3, 2007 at her home. Judith was born in Philadelphia and had previously lived in Cape May Court House and Myrtle Beach. She was a registered Nurse having work with Hope Community Cancer Center, Marmora and Shore Memorial Hospital I.C.U. unit. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Cpae May Court House, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers; Daniel & Ezra Packer and nephew Daniel. She is survived by her sister Clare "Pat" and her husband William Guilmartin of North Wildwood and brother Albert Packer of Philadelphia, her two nieces; Rita & Maureen, three nephews; David, James & Geoffrey and Godmother of Tim. Funeral Service, 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 803 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 AM.

Packer, Clare C.

Clare C. Packer, 82, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in this area for four years. She was a retired machine operator at Fleer's Bubble Gum in Philadelphia.

She is survived by two daughters: Clare P. Guilmartin of North Wildwood and Judith A. Packer of Cape May Court House; two sons: Daniel and Albert J. of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra J., III and a son, Ezra J.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, February 3, 2003, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, E. Mechanic St. and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery, Roslyn, PA. Memorials may be made to the North Cape Center Activities Fund, 700 Town Bank Rd., North Cape May, NJ 08204.

Paduano, Lucille Linda Marrotta

LUCILLE LINDA MARROTTA PADUANO, 54, of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Wednesday, June 23, at the Hospice Center in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Linda was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident before moving to Ocean Township five years ago.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Damiano Marrotta, in 1999. Surviving are her father, James Marrotta of Ocean Township; two brothers, James P. and Patrick, both of West Long Branch; four sisters, Barbara Pugel of Ohio, Mary Marrotta of Long Branch, Janet Miller of Ocean Township, and Rachael Marrotta of West Long Branch; and several aunts and uncles.

At the family's request, all visitation will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church. Beloved husband of the late Arcelia (nee Colon) and Amelia (nee Nieves); Devoted father of Mercedes Borrero, Carmen Padilla, Blanca Rios, Rosario, Hector, Cesar and Luis Palau; Loving grandfather of 17, great grandfather of 9 and great great grandfather of 7. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement in 1972, Mr. Palau was employed with the Candy and Confectionary Workers Union Local #452 for over 20 years.

Palazzo, Louis P.

Louis P. Palazzo, age 86 of Long Branch died September 18, 2006 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. He was the owner and operator of Sam's Tavern in New York City for 50. Born in New York, he lived in Yonkers, NY and summered in Long Branch since 1947 before moving here permanently in 1970. He served honorably during WWII in the Army Air Corps; and was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. Mr. Palazzo was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Long Branch. He is predeceased by a sister and a brother.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Mary A. Bevilacqua Palazzo; a son and daughter in law, Salvatore and Cynthia Palazzo; a daughter and son in law, Valentina and Friedrich Metz; 4 grandchildren, Lindsay, Michael, Louis and Laurenne; and a great granddaughter, Sage.

Visitation will be on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held Friday, 9:00 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Star of the Sea Church, Long Branch. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.

Palazzolo, Vincent H.

Vincent H. Palazzolo, age 80, died Wednesday August 3, 2005 at the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. He was a baker and a co-owner of Baldanza Bakery, Long Branch retiring 20 years ago. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, Long Branch. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Born in Passaic, NJ he lived most of his life in Long Branch.

He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth Mocci and a brother, Anthony Palazzolo.

Surviving are his wife of 12 years Marie Laugelli Palazzolo; four sons, Dominic Palazzolo of Hazlet, Vincent Palazzolo of W. Virginia, Anthony Palazzolo of Long Branch & Joseph Palazzolo of Long Branch; a brother Dominic Palazzolo of Monmouth Beach; three step-children, Stephen, Gregory and Diane Laugelli; nine grandchildren and one step-grandson.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. corner of Third Ave., Long Branch on Friday, August 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Saturday, August 6, at 9:00 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Memorial donations are requested to Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740-6303.

On August 23, 2007, of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Audubon. Age 95. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Concetta Maloney (Edward) of Mt. Laurel and the late Angelo Palermo (Marie). Devoted grandmother of Joseph Maloney, Maryann Bodine, Edward Maloney, III, Lisa Organisak, Michael Palermo and Joseph Palermo. Great grandmother of 12.
