Pasquariello, Angelo Flynn

ANGELO "FLYNN" PASQUARIELLO, 96, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday, June 25, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. He was a sales representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., North Jersey, for 32 years, retiring 20 years ago. He was U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Monmouth Park Association. Born in Newark, he lived in Bloomfield before moving to Long Branch 8 years ago.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Tortoriello Pasquariello, in 1975, and a brother-in-law, Michael Tortoriello, in 2000. Surviving are a son, Robert A. Pasquariello; a daughter, Janice A. Pasquariello, both of Long Branch; a brother, Armand Pasquariello of Belmar; and two grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Jenna Rose.

Relatives and friends can call from 1 to 5 p.m Sunday at the Damiano Funeral Home, corners of Third and Franklin Aves. A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 300 Second Ave., CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

Patrick, Rita

Rita Patrick, 92, a long time resident of Wildwood, died on Monday, September 17, 2001, at Crest Haven Nursing Home. She was born in Savannah, GA. She was a member of the Eureka Baptist Church of Wildwood. There are no immediate survivors.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, at 12 noon at the Eureka Baptist Church, Wildwood, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Patten, Kathleen D.

KATHLEEN D. PATTEN (Nee Ringhand), a long time resident of Tabernacle, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with emphysema and cancer. She was 78 yrs. of age. Born in DeLuth, MN, Kathy moved to Phila. in 1937 where she lived until she married and built a home in Tabernacle in the early 1950's. A loving and dedicated mother and Grandmother, Kathy will be deeply missed by her sons, Dennis Scales, Kenneth Scales & Cheryl Utley, Frank and Valerie Scales, Stephen & Kathy Scales, her daughter Crystal & William Scott and her Grandchildren Frank, Corey, Travis, Mihaela, Lindsay, and Shane all of Tabernacle, NJ. She will also be missed by her dear cousin Robert Teare & his wife Dorothy. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ, (609-953-7600), where a Celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has requested memorial donations to either the Tabernacle Rescue Squad, P.O. Patterson, David Thomas

PATTERSON, DAVID THOMAS, age 44, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, died on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Cherry Hill, NJ, the loving son of Rose Gellura, who survives, and the late David W. Patterson. He was the dear brother of Denise of Wildwood, NJ, Dennis of Wildwood Crest, NJ, and Daniel and wife, Tammi, of MN; dear uncle of Trina, Joseph, Jessica, Samantha, Christian; and grandson of Rose S. and late Thomas S. Gellura, and the late George and Grace Patterson. He is survived by many caring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by his favorite uncle, Thomas J. Gellura.

Funeral services will be held, December 26, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit at 4:00 p.m. Interment is private. Memorials may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of South Jersey, 295 Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

PATTERSON, DONALD R. on August 20, 2004, of Sicklerville, NJ. Formerly of Media, PA. Age 72. Beloved husband of Maureen (nee Konrad). Loving father of Donald Patterson of TX, Steven Patterson of FL, Robert Patterson of FL, Karen Patterson of TX, Donna Grainger of Voorhees, NJ, and Debra Carmody of Freehold, NJ. Brother of Elaine Kett of CA and Robert Patterson of FL. Also survived by 6 grandchildren: Ryan, Brittany, Michael, William, Carolyn, and Melanie. Donald attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and worked at First Pennsylvania Bank in Philadelphia for over 25 years before starting his own business in the 1970's. He later moved to New Jersey and continued working in the banking industry before retiring in the early 1990's. Elesebeth "Betty" Irene Patterson of Moorestown, NJ went to be with her eternal Father on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Born in Patricksburg, IN on Oct. 19, 1930, "Betty" was the oldest of the eight children of Gladys Clawson and Oscar Wayne Smith. She is survived by two sons Roy and Glen Patterson both of Cherry Hill, NJ One Daughter in law Janet, 5 Grand children Daniel, Rebecca and Courtney Patterson of Cherry Hill, NJ Beth Fox of North Carolina and James Patterson of California and also 5 Great Grand children and a sister Joanna Stevens of Moorestown, NJ and 10 Nieces and Nephews. "Betty" Lived what she beloved and left her handprint on our hearts. Home at last no pain, no sorrow, no more parting Constantly Abiding with her Savior. "BETTY" was a faithful member of and teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Parkertown, NJ. PAUCIELLO, Albert J.

On May 26, 2004 of Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly of Marlton, NJ. Age 87. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Hunter Lundell Pauciello. Loving father of Lisa Rowe of Gladwyne, PA. Devoted grandfather of Lily and Christopher Rowe. Dear brother of Carmella Foreman and Ida Carozza of Cherry Hill, and Anna Pauciello of Phila. Mr. Pauciello was served in the Army Rangers and in the US Coast Guard-Merchant Marines. He also entertained with the USO during World War II. He was a member of Marlton VFW Post and was an amateur boxer. He worked as a masseur at the Philadelphia Athletic Club and a stevedore for Penn Fruit. Paul, Jessie Roma

Jessie Roma Paul, age 19 of South Dennis, NJ. "It is not length of life, but depth of life." - Emerson.

Jessie Paul died on July 19th, 2005 of a congenital heart condition. Jessie attended Dennis Township School, St Joseph's School and was a graduate of Wildwood Catholic High School as a member of the National Honor Society. Jessie had just completed her freshman year at Ohio Wesleyan University. As a piano student, she attended Summer Sonatina piano camp in Bennington, VT. As a theatrics student, she attended Stagedoor Manor summer camp in Loch Sheldrake, NY, and summer session at Columbia University's Drama Dept. Jessie made lasting friendships at all these places, and wherever else she went. Her heart was damaged, but it held so much love and joy.

Jessie loved her family, loved her friends and loved life. She is survived by her loving parents Robin and James (Chip) Paul and her adoring older brother Alex; all of South Dennis, NJ. Her special friend Erik Unverdruss, who was at her side when she passed away; many aunts and cousins, and many, many dear friends.

Jessie leaves us with memories of her beauty, talent and sweet nature. She will be missed by all who knew her. We wish to extend our sincerest gratitude to all who came to our side in our grief. PAVARINI, ARTHUR FRANCIS, JR. on May 11, 2005 formerly of Watchung, NJ. Age 40. Beloved husband of Kathleen E. (nee DiPietropolo). Loving son of Arthur F. Pavarini, Sr. and Diane (nee Regan) Goldbach and her husband Robert. Dear brother of Paul & Michael Pavarini, Celeste Reck, Donna Chapman and Stephen and Robert Goldbach. Also survived by in-laws John & Kathie DiPietropolo and the whole DiPietropolo family. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday from 10-11:45 AM at the Holy Eucharist Church, Medford Lakes Rd in Tabernacle. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. Pawlus, Alfredo

Pawlus, Alfredo age 66 years, of Wildwood Crest, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has lived here for the past twenty six years coming from Monroe, CT. He was a maintenance mechanic with the Mobil Chemical Company of Stratford, CT where he retired in 1980 after ten years of service.

He is survived by his wife Norma (nee Minciardi), his two sons Fabio, Sr. and his wife Deborah Pawlus of West Cape May and Claudio and his wife Jacqueline Pawlus of Wildwood Crest, three grandchildren Kristi, Fabio, Jr. and Landon.

Services and interment will be private in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Make a Wish Foundation, 1034 Salem Road, Union, NJ 070983

Payne, Esther R.

PAYNE, ESTHER R., on August 21, 2008. Beloved wife of George Payne Sr. Loving mother of Michelle Payne and George Payne Jr. Sister of Merle Seylor, Estella Schultz, and Bonnie Wood. Also survived by her grandchildren, Joanne, Brittany, Ashley, and Darlene, and daughter-in-law Lori Radwell. Payne, Lieutenant Colonel Irving P.

Lieutenant Colonel Irving P. Payne, age 86 of West Long Branch died Thursday, February 26 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Achieving rank of Lieutenant Colonel in May of 1963 in the US Army, he retired in 1966 after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Old First United Methodist Church, West Long Branch; a charter member of the West Long Branch Lions Club and a member of Airstream International Wally Byram Caravan Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Clerk Payne in 1996. Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Philip C. and Louise Payne of West Long Branch and a granddaughter, Heather.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 12:00 pm at Glenwood cemetery, West Long Branch. Donations are requested to the Oceanport First Aid Squad, 2 Pemberton Avenue, Oceanport, NJ 07757. Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Payton, Edith Beson

Edith Benson Payton of Monmouth Beach died on May 10, surrounded by members of her family. Throughout her 86 years of life, Edie's deeds embodied faith in God, love of family, and kindness to others.

Born in 1918, Edie grew up in Jersey City, NJ and was the eldest of five children of Frank and Marie Della Corte. Always a sharp mind, Edie graduated high school at age 16 and began work in NYC. She married Raymond Benson at the age of 23. Between the ages of 26 and 38, she had four sons: John, Richard, Mark, and Chris Benson.

The family moved to West Chester, PA, in 1950 where Edie worked as a stenographer and paralegal. Widowed in 1959, she moved to NJ to be closer to her siblings. There, Edie began working as an administrative assistant for Merck & Company in the foundation department and public relations department. After her sons were grown, Edie met her future beloved husband, Bill Payton, whom she married in 1976. When Edie retired five years later, they moved to Monmouth Beach and fulfilled Edie's lifelong dream of living at the beach.

Despite the death of her son Richard in 1989, Edie maintained a positive attitude of devotion to God throughout her life. She attended Mass daily, served in the Rosary and Altar society, and most importantly lived a life full of good deeds, hope, and love.

Her beloved family holds fond memories of her devotion and optimism. Edie's husband, Bill, and her surviving sons are thankful for her unending support and joy-filled life. She will be remembered for her talent in making each person feel special, a trait particularly cherished by those who called her Gram, her grandchildren: Patty, John, Paige, Ben, Drew, Jeff, Mike, Grace, Anna, and Kathryn. Edie extended her genuine acceptance and inclusive love to her all her family related by marriage: Kathleen, Carolyn, Jane, Patty, & Michael. Edie's warmth and delight are also cherished by her four siblings: Louise Porcelli, Midge Litcholt, Ceil Crawford, and Joe Dellacorte, their spouses Peter, Leo (deceased), Robert, and Gloria, and their 18 children and 24 grandchildren.

Members throughout the community hold memories of Edie and her good works. She delivered meals to the sick and elderly, took sick individuals to doctor and hospital visits, and provided counsel to those struggling with personal issues. Throughout her life, she ministered to friends, family, and many in the community. Her legacy is that through the many lives that she has touched, her good works are carried on in the world.

Visitation will be at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. on corner of Third Ave., Long Branch, NJ on Friday, May 13, from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral Saturday, 8:30 am from the funeral home with a 9:30 am Mass at Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Memorial donations can be made to the Roman Catholic Church of Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Ave., Monmouth Beach, NJ 07750.

PEARO, ALMA KAY (nee Smith)

On March 17, 2003, of Park Ridge, NJ; age 84 years.

Beloved wife of the late, William; Dear sister of the late, Bob Smith and Jennie DiLorenzo; She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Devoted mother to Richard(Carol) Pearson of Pine Hill, NJ, and the late Paul Pearson. Caring grandmother to Deborah(Jim) Flynn of Glen Burnie, MD, Laura Pearson of Blandon, PA, Paul(Mary Ann) Pearson of Valdosta, GA. Dear sister of Betty Jehn of Denver, CO, Earl(Peggy) James of Farmington, NM and the late Elsie Weidner. Survived by her brother-in-law Walter Weidner of Lakeview, OH. Mary Alice was a member of the St.Joan of Arc Catholic Church where she taught CCD classes for many years. She volunteered for RSVP (Contact of Burlington County) and was a member of "Fun and Games" at Burlington County Community College. He later worked at Crozer-Chester Medical Security For 12 years until his retirement in 1994.

Other: Devoted family man who loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed his yearly trips to Wildwood with his family. Member of West End Boat for over 20 years.
