Riley, Harold R.

Harold "Pat" R. Riley, 77, of Del Haven, died on Friday, August 23, 2002 at the Court House Convalescent Center. He was born in Hamilton, KY and lived in Del Haven for fifty-five years. He was retired from the New Jersey Bell Company after forty-two years of service. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood. Pat's community involvement included serving as Middle Township Welfare Director, serving on the Middle Township Board of Education for five terms, the Middle Township branch of the AARP, the Community Rent Leveling Board, the Animal Welfare Society, the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, and a Boy Scout leader. He and his wife, Elvina started the Transportation of Patients Project, driving people to the drug store and grocery store, to chemotherapy treatments, and inviting lonely people to their home for dinner. He joined the Green Creek Fire Company, where he was the first president, and was instrumental in the building of the first firehouse there. On December 21, 1998, he was enrolled in the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, a national award for community service, named in memory of four Army chaplains who gave their lives to save others. He was involved in organizing the Middle Township Memorial Day Parade and was an avid basketball fan of the Middle Township Panthers team.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Elvina J. nee Fritsch; his daughter, Elvina M. Johnson and her husband, Edward of Goshen; his son in law, George Davies of Onalaska, WI; his brother, Clifford; his sisters, Patricia Riley and Jean Sullivan of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Scott Davies and his fiancée, Tammy Peters of Twin Lakes, WI, Steven Davies and wife, Nicole of Ames, OH, Brian Johnson of Florida, Phillip Johnson and his fiancée, Heather Carr of Goshen, and Edward Johnson and his fiancée, Gena Ribeiro of Goshen; his two great grandchildren, Alexis Dawn and Trent Tyler Davies; his sister in law and brother in law, Ruth and Charles Fritsch of Del Haven; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol J. Davies on December 20, 2000.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 230 East Maple Avenue, Wildwood, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Riley, Jr., Francis "Sonny" Joseph

Francis Joseph "Sonny" Riley, Jr., 81, of Burleigh section of Middle Township, died on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at his home. Born in Chester, PA, he has lived here for the past 40 years, coming from Chester. He was a machine operator for the Scott Paper Company. He was Tyler for the Hereford Masonic Lodge and also Past Master. He received the Distinguished Service Award of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey. His memberships also include Belcher Lodge of Egg Harbor Township, Tall Cedars Lodge, Shriners Crescent Temple of Cape May County, Odd Fellows Lodge with a 50 year membership and was Past President of the Scottish Rite Club of Cape May County. He is survived by his sister, Althea Burns; his niece Marian Hite and her husband, Jim; his great niece Typhiny Hite and his great nephew, Jason Hite, all of Woolwich Township, NJ. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 8:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 7:00 p.m. Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19100.

RILLING, Claire J. (nee Dixon)

Of Marlton, NJ for 49 years. On June 22, 2007. Age 80. Beloved wife of the late Jacob G. Jr. Devoted mother of Jack and his wife Terri, William and his wife Terri, Judith Huesken, Joanne and her husband Bruce Huggins, Lois Lawrence and Elizabeth and her husband James Perkins. Loving grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 19. Dear sister of Joan Dixon. Mrs. Rilling is a Past President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Sampson WWII Navy Veterans. RILLING, JACOB G. JR.

On November 18, 2003 of Marlton, NJ for 45 years. Age 78. Beloved husband of Claire (nee Dixon) for 56 years. Devoted father of Jacob "Jack" and his wife Terri, William and his wife Terri, Judith Huesken, Joanne and her husband Bruce Huggins, Lois Lawrence and Elizabeth and her husband James Perkins. Loving grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 16. Prior to retirement in 1983, Mr. Rilling was employed as a manager with AT&T in Philadelphia for 35 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of the Sampson WWII Navy Vets and a member of the Medford Chapter of the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt 73 and Evesham Rd. A Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM at the Funeral Home. Rindone, Patricia A

Rindone, Patricia A. (nee Sawn). On May 28, 2006 of Marlton, NJ. Age 47. Loving wife of David Rindone. Devoted mother of Michelle, David Jr., and Lauren. Caring daughter of George and Patricia Sawn. Dear sister of George, Thomas, and John. Daughter-In-Law of Mariann. Patricia will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Patricia was a nurse for St.Agnes Hospital for over twenty years and devoted her life to nursing and serving others.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing from 6-9 Wednesday and 8:15-9:15 Thursday morning at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton. Rinebold, Paul A.

Paul A. Rinebold, 56, of South Seaville, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Panama, he had lived in this area for 40 years.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Brenda (nee Goar); his sons, Joseph Rinebold and his wife, Jan of Erma, and Charles Rinebold of Cape May County; his sister, Linda Butts and her husband, Robert of Hawaii; his three grandchildren; his stepdaughter, Bosha Venable of South Seaville; his brother in law and sister in law, Eugene and Dora Haggins; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pauline and Albert Rinebold, and his brother, Gene Rinebold.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

RINER, Caroline H. (nee Brandt), on December 31, 2008, of Lake Bluff IL, formerly of Warminster PA. Age 84. Beloved wife of the late Henry G. Riner. Loving mother of Henry G. 'Hank' Riner Jr. and his wife, Maria of Lake Forest IL. Dear grandmother of Jason and Jennifer Riner. Rinier, Robert Thomas

Robert Thomas Rinier, 58, of Cape May Court House died on Monday, Jul. 22, 2002. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he has lived in Wildwood for 52 years coming from Philadelphia. He was a Floor Mechanic and worked for Fams P & S in Wildwood for 30 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

He is survived by his mother Lillian Cheesman of Philadelphia; three sons: Robert L. and wife Vicki, Shane P. & wife, Kristie, and William P. Leaming; his daughter: Jessica Moore, all of Cape May Court House; brother: William of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren: Shane P., Jr. and Liam Rinier, William, Kristie, Ashley and Rachael Leaming, and Carmel and Avery Moore.

Services and interment are private.

Riper, Olga A.

RIPER, OLGA A. (nee KOSTYK) 73, of Villas, died Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Victorian Manor, North Cape May. Born in Chester, PA, she lived in Villas for over 45 years. Olga owned and operated Barbara's Seashell Florist in the Villas for eight years. She loved her flowers and garden. She is a member of St. Raymond's Church, Villas, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Riper Sr., devoted mother of Robert J. Riper Jr., Maryanne Plimsoll, Jeanette Simmermon, Barbara Glitz-Frame, and Alice Margolis; loving grandmother of seven grandchild-ren; dear sister to Michael Kostyk, Walter Kostyk, Sophia Rest, Edna Mielcarek, Helen Hagen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 11:30 AM at St. Raymond's RC Church, Ocean and Bayshore Rd., where relatives and friends may call 10:15 to 11:15 AM. Interment St. Mary's cemetery, Cape May.

Rippel, Frank Howard

FRANK HOWARD RIPPEL, age 69, of Woodbine, NJ, died on January 5, 2009, at the Atlantic Regional Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and moved to Cape May County in 1959.

He was a Viet Nam Veteran serving in the Air Force. He was a member of the Viet Nam Vets of Erma.

He is survived by his three sons: Francis W. and William C. of the Villas; Jeremy of Iowa; a daughter, Amanda C. Rippel of Cape May; a sister, Lillian (Richard) Baker of Wildwood; one granddaughter, Kayla and a great granddaughter, Anya Evelyn. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may visit at 6 p.m.

Interment is private. Memorials may be made to the Viet Nam Veterans of America, Chapter 602, 596 Seashore Road, Erma, NJ 08204.

Risley, Lucille M.

RISLEY, LUCILLE M., age 79, of Cape May Court House, NJ died on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the North Cape Center. She was born in Avalon, NJ, and had been a resident of Darby, PA returning to this area in 1995. She was a board certified electrician for the commercial aircraft division of Boeing Corporation. She is survived by two sisters: Mildred R. Hoffman of Cape May Court House, NJ and Pauline Haines of North Cape May, NJ, and two half brothers: James Risley of LaPlata, MD and Charles Risley of Erma, NJ. Private graveside services will be held at the Asbury Methodist cemetery, Swainton, NJ.

Risley, Roseanne Lee

Roseanne Lee Risley, 51, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009. She enjoyed embroidery and her family. She is survived by her husband, Charles Sr.; her sons, Charles Jr., Jason, and Jimmy; her brothers, Robert, Joseph, Stanley, and Walt Cubernot, and Michael Mathis; her sister, Betty Risley; grandson, Jason; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Wayne. Services are private.

Ritchie, Nancy Bent

Nancy Bent Ritchie, 88, of Stone Harbor, passed away November 30, 2002, at The Lutheran Home in Ocean View. Born August 31, 1914 in Haverford, PA, to Felton Bent and Helen (Darlington) Bent, she was a quiet child who grew into a sociable adult.

As a child, she had a pet goat that rode in the "rumble seat" of the Model T. She traveled with her parents to England by steamship in search of champion English bulldogs. Nancy's mother died when she was 16, and she was left with a father who did not know how to care for a young woman. During a difficult, she was cared for by her aunt, Deborah Bent, who became her lifelong mentor.

Nancy was predeceased in 1962 by her husband, Howard Spencer Pleasants. She rallied from sadness at her loss and became a community leader in Stone Harbor. She remarried , to John Louis Ritchie in 1971, who predeceased her in 1977.

In 1978 she initiated the founding of The Garden Club of Stone Harbor, which continues today to include many volunteers who beautify the borough with flowers every year. Her love of flowers inspired many to participate in flower shows and spread the joy of floribunda.

She was a member and leader for more than 40 years of the Episcopal Church Women and Altar Guild at St. Mary's Church, Stone Harbor. She gave generously of her heart and her time.

Nancy was also active in the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce and the Realty Owners Association, where she voiced political statements in favor of the island at large.

She is survived by two children, Howard and Marcia Pleasants; two granddaughters, Katrina Blum of Roseville, Michigan, and Sarah Blum of Norwich, Vermont; and a great grandson, Silas Hermens, of Norwich, Vermont.

Nancy first moved to Stone Harbor in 1949 as a summer resident on 87th Street, then in 1957 as a year-rounder on 90th Street, her ultimate address.

She was full of life and gave herself birthday parties to which she invited hundreds of guests, just for the pleasure of seeing everyone have a good time. She sparkled and joked and was the life of every party she attended. May she rest in peace.

Donations may be sent to St. Mary's Church, Stone Harbor; The Garden Club of Stone Harbor, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247; The Wetlands Institute, Stone Harbor.

A funeral will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th Street and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, on Thursday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours.

Ritchie, John J.

RITCHIE, John J. 'Jack' suddenly on March 3, 2009, of Cherry Hill NJ. Age 52. Beloved son of Edna (nee Andrews) and Eugene F. Ritchie. Loving brother of Kenneth E. (Judith), Timothy A. (Marianne) and Robert R. Ritchie. Dear uncle of Julianne and Andrew Ritchie. Jack is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mr. Ritchie was employed as a civilian for the US Army in Germany for over 10 years. Most recently, he was an IT Technician for the Camden County Library in Voorhees and was just promoted to his new position including statistical reports and special projects. RITTER, ALAN J., on July 9, 2007, of Cherry Hill, NJ. Formerly of Voorhees, NJ. Age 77. Loving husband of Elizabeth (nee Toth). Beloved father of Dawne Penner and her husband John of Voorhees. Also survived by his granddaughter Aimee. Mr. Ritter was a veteran of the US ARMY, serving during the Korean War. Josephine Rivera, 39, of Pleasantville, formerly of Woodbine, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at home. She was born in Cape May Court House to the late Luis and Inez (Guibas) Rivera and was a lifetime resident of this area. She was formerly employed by the Woodbine State School.

She is survived by her son, Jesus Rodriguez; her daughter, Jenice Rosa, both of Woodbine; her sisters, Aida Feliciano and her fiancé, Noel Luciano of Pleasantville, and Darma Perez of Vineland; her brothers, Pasquale Perez and his wife, Vera of Springfield, MA, and Virgilio Rodriguez of Woodbine; and her niece, Shelya Feliciano.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. There will be viewing time on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Head of the River cemetery, Estell Manor.

Rivera-Garced-Alvidrez, Virgina I.

Virginia I. Rivera-Garced-Alvidrez, age 85 of North Long Branch, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at home. At her side was her daughter Orfa Thompson whom has cared for her for the past two and a half years, her nine other children and many grandchildren. Born in Cidra, Puerto Rico; she moved to Long Branch in 1958 where she purchased her shore side home and raised her children. Devotedly religious she was involved in community activism with the local church group at the First Presbyterian Church on Chelsea and Third Avenue, Long Branch and later when it moved to Cedar Avenue. Some years later, she joined the 7th Day Adventist Church in Lakewood. Having traveled around the world at various times having residence in Sacramento, CA; Killeen, TX; Miami, FL; Stuttgart, Germany; she maintained her residence in her beloved home at the Jersey Shore and returned there to live out her remaining years. A dedicated housewife and mother, she was born to Bernabe Rivera and Serafina Reyes, and had three brothers and six sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her daughters and son, Orfa Naomi Thompson of Jackson, CA; Rody Borman and Rick Garced of Miami, Fl; Virginia Christensen of New York, NY; Victor Garced, Herman Garced, Herbert Garced of Long Branch; Humberto Garced of Wayside; Irma Fay of Ocean Twsp.; Abby Blassingill of Oakhurst; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, Long Branch on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral, Thursday, Sept. 9, 9:30 am from the funeral home with a service and eulogy offered at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Saint Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Avenue, CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740, in her name.
