Roop, Elsie L.

Elsie L. Roop, age 72, of Green Creek, NJ, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 17, 2010, surrounded by her family. Elsie was born and raised in New Gretna, NJ, and was a resident of Green Creek for the past fifty four years. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and also a friend to many. After her retirement from the Cape May County Board of Social Services, Elsie enjoyed spending her time in the kitchen cooking and baking, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and their activities.

Elsie was a lifetime active member of the Green Creek Community Church including being a former Sunday School teacher and co-leader of the junior choir. Elsie was a present member of the senior choir, women's society and the official Church board working side by side with her closest friends on many Church rummage sales, cake sales and hoagie sales over the years. She loved the Lord with her whole heart, mind and soul and was a pillar of strength to many in their time of need.

She was predeceased by her mother, Marietta Maxwell and her son, Joseph J., Roop, Jr., and is survived by her loving husband of fifty four years, Joseph J. Roop, Sr.; a daughter, Vicki Winter and her husband, Christopher, Sr. of Erma, NJ; grandchildren, Michelle Winter and Christopher J. Winter, Jr., and Sherrie Connelly of Florida; her brothers, William (Doranna) Maxwell, James (Patricia) Maxwell, and Robert Maxwell; a cousin, John Storey; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends and family may call at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Donations in memory of Elsie's life may be made to the Green Creek Community Church, 424 Delsea Drive, Green Creek, NJ 08219.

Roper, Jr., Willie "Rope"

Willie "Rope" Roper, Jr., 65, of Whitesboro, NJ, died on Saturday, May 15, 2004. He was born in Savannah, GA, the son of the late Willie and Harriet Owens Roper, Sr. He served in the US Army. He was a self employed mason; was on the Wildwood and Woodbine Police Force; was an examiner for the NJ Motor Vehicle Services and was a driver for the Cape Counseling. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro; the Elks Lodge of Wildwood; and enjoyed motorcycling and belonged to the "Spokes Unlimited".

He is survived by his children: Willie, III and Warren of Wildwood, NJ, Wayne of Philadelphia, PA, Deborah A. of North Cape May, NJ, and Winston of Woodbine, NJ; sister: Lydia Joyce of GA; lifelong friend: Curnice L. Boyd; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and wife: Patricia W.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, West Main St., Whitesboro, NJ, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. There is no final viewing after the services. Interment in Seaside cemetery, Palermo, NJ.

Rosa, Jr., Gordon B.P.

GORDON B.P. ROSA JR., 51, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was the owner and proprietor of N.J. Janitorial Inc., Long Branch, for 10 years. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he has lived in Long Branch for 38 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon B.P. and Edith Staub Rosa. Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Rosa of Long Branch, and Victor and Lori Rosa of Oceanport.

Relatives and friends may call from noon Friday until a service at 1:45 p.m. at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. Entombment will be in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.

Rosano, Frank

FRANK ROSANO, age 87 of West Long Branch died Monday, February 16, at St Barnabas Hospice Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was Civil employee working at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown for 30 years retiring in 1978.

He served his country honorable in the United States Army.

Born in Long Branch and he had lived in West Long Branch since 1952

He was predeceased by his parents Rocco and Elizabeth DeFilippo Rosano, a brother, James Rosano, two sisters, Mary Sgro and Rose Tarzia and a daughter-in-law Joy Rosano.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Stansfield Rosano, a son, Frank Rosano, Oceanport, a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Ronald Traversa, West Long Branch, a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Camille Rosano, Oceanport, four sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa and Pat Tomaino, Long Branch, Barbara Sintic, Eatontown, Cecelia Shaffer, Toms River and Ermina Tarvin, Ohio, two grandchildren, Melissa Spellman and Frank R. Rosano, Jr. and three great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third Ave, Long Branch, on Wednesday, February 18, from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral Thursday February 19, at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass at St Jerome's RC Church, West Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St Barnabas Hospice Center at Monmouth Medical Center, CW 6, 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 and the West Long Branch Community Center, P.O. Box 157, West Long Branch, NJ 07764.

Rosar, Catherine "Kay" Cook

Catherine "Kay" Cook Rosar, age 66, of Toms River and St. Petersburg, Florida died Thursday June 28, 20007 at home. She was a systems analyst for AT & T in Neptune for 24 years retiring 20 years ago and a member of Calvary Chapel in Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Anna Yablonski Cook. Surviving is her beloved husband, Richard A. Rosar; two sons and daughters in law, Lawrence J. and Tina Leming of Manasquan, Jeffrey E. and Susan Leming of Toms River; her husband's children and their spouses, Wendy and Eric Johnson of Edison, Richard Rosar of Sayreville, Christopher and Gina Rosar of Fords; a sister and brother in law, Gail and Joseph Benincasa of Oakhurst; three brothers and sisters in law, Ralph B. Cook of Wall Twp., William L. and Susan Cook of Lincroft, Ted E. and Deborah Cook of Port St. Lucy, FL.; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Calvary Chapel, 123 White Oak Lane, Suite 216, Old Bridge, NJ 08857 or Van Dyke Hospice, c/o Community Medical Center, 99 Rt. 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Rosati, Joseph H.

Joseph H. Rosati age 89 of West Long Branch died Friday February 21, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

A graduate of Bucknell University and Columbia University with a Master's Degree, he taught in Rumson-Fair Haven High School, as the football coach and later Athletic Director, all in 47 years. The plaque on the wall of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School reads: This Gymnasium is dedicated with gratitude to Joseph H. Rosati Teacher and Coach, Department Head and Athletic Director 1937 to 1980. "Gentleman Joe" Rumson-Fair Haven Regional Board of Education June 1980. He was often heard saying" Sports provide a place for growth in all children. Sports teach responsibility, leadership and instills confidence."

In addition, Joseph managed for some 20 years at the Surfside Beach Club of West End where countless thousands of area youngsters have spent summers under his watchful eye.

Born in Red Bank, he had lived in West Long Branch since 1950.

He served 4 years in the US Army during WWII as a sergeant.

Predeceased by his wife Theresa Scaglione Rosati in 2000, his parents Enrico and Francesca Rosati, 4 sisters, Jennie, Maggie, Millie, Anna and a brother Henry.

Surviving are a son, Joseph A. Rosati, West Long Branch, 3 grandsons, Alex, Jessie, and Cameron Rosati, a sister in law, Mary and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral Wednesday February 26, at 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by 9:30 am Mass at St Jerome Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.

ROSATI, Elizabeth C.

(nee Leva) of Marlton. On May 6, 2008. Age 76. Beloved wife of the late Frank. Loving mother of Rita Petti and her husband Robert and their daughter Cherilyn Rosati-Petti. Dear sister-in-law of Connie Verna, Grace Leva and Pat Nardicchio. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mother of Frank Rosati and his family. Conne Z. Rosati age 73 of Wayside died Wednesday, March 13 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center,

Born in Newark, she lived in Pt. Pleasant Beach before moving to Wayside 15 years ago.

Donations are requested to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Inc., One Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1610, New York, NY 10119-0165. There will be no visiting hours. Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Rose, Doris E.

Doris E. Rose, 75, of Rio Grande, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in North Wildwood to the late Charles and Marion (Camp) Hughes, she was a lifetime resident of this area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House and the VFW Post 3509. She loved the Showboat Casino, shopping and spending hours on end at the Four Seasons Diner.

Mrs. Rose is survived by her husband, George R. Rose, Jr., her children, Bill (Debbie) Adams of Cape May Court House, Patricia Cromwell of North Wildwood, and Dorothy (Dave) LaBeau of Monroe, MI; her stepdaughters, Debbie (Ron) Barnes of Belleplain, and Sandy (Dave) Krogman of the Edgewood section of Rio Grande; her sisters, Lillian Hickman, Martha Camp, and Marion Hughes; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Edward Adams, her brother Charles, and her sister Mamie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Rose, Flora Naomi

Flora Naomi Rose, age 93, of Cape May Court House, NJ, formerly of Goshen, NJ and South Seaville, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Cape Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Goshen, the daughter of the late Lewis and Elmira Isabel Cole Williams. She was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church where she played the organ and served on various committees. During her marriage she also lived in South Seaville where she was a member of the South Seaville Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Dennise Olivia Reardon (John) of Cape May Court House, NJ; two sons: George Richard, Jr. (Doris Elaine) of Rio Grande, NJ, and John Milton (Doris Marie) of Petersburg, NJ; brother: Edward Nelson Williams of Ocean View, NJ; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews for whom she was a mother figure. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George R., Sr. in 2000; a sister, Elmira Isabel Quelch; and a brother, Paul Lewis Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Goshen Methodist cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Goshen or South Seaville United Methodist Church.

Rose, Matthew

Matthew Rose, age 65 of Red Bank died Wednesday, July 7 at home. He was a retired Cook for Basil T Leaf in Red Bank. Born in Jamaica, Queens, he lived in Monmouth Beach before moving to Red Bank 31 years ago. He was predeceased by his father Benjamin H. Rose. Surviving is his wife of 38 years Dawn Earley Rose; two sons, Timothy Rose of Beaufort, South Carolina and Michael Rose of Red Bank; a daughter, Ginger Intelli of Red Bank; his mother, Adeline Greene Rose of Shrewsbury Township; two brothers, Benjamin K. Rose of Eatontown and Robert Rose of Lakewood; and ten grandchildren.

A grave side service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rose family and will be received by Damiano Funeral Home, P.O. Box 567, Long Branch, New Jersey 07740.

Rose, Jr., Alfred G.

Alfred G. "Ralph" Rose, Jr., 75, of Del Haven, died on Thursday, October 3, 2002, at the Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland Division. Born in Nyack, NY, he has lived here for 24 years coming from Texas and Rio Grande. He was a retired Supervisor of Bridge Operations; George Reading Bridge for over 25 years. He was a past Scout Master in Rio Grande.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C.; son William G. of Texas; two daughters: Sue A. Wheeler of Goshen, and Catharine Rose Chidley of Cape May Court House; his brother: Dwaine Rose of Cinnanminson. He was predeceased by his son James A. Also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 8, at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment is in Seaside cemetery, Palermo.

Roseingrave, Thomas D.

ROSEINGRAVE, Thomas D. died suddenly at his home on November 7, 2006, of Voorhees NJ, formerly of Dublin, Ireland. Age 53. He is survived by his loving daughter, Orla Roseingrave of Dublin, Ireland and her mother, Ann Roseingrave (nee Leonard). Dear brother of Maire & Vincent Ryan, Siobhan, Eilis, and Denis Roseingrave and Paula & Asad Salim. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Conor, Natasha & Dermot Fennelly, Sara and Kamran and great nephews, Ross and Christopher. Thomas is the son of the late Thomas A. and Helen (nee Goulding) Roseingrave. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday from 7-8pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton NJ where a Memorial Service will be held at 8pm. Roselli, Leo P.

LEO P. ROSELLI of Mt. Laurel, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 43 yrs. of age. Born in Somers Point, NJ, he has resided in Mt. Laurel since 1996 moving there from Medford, NJ. Leo is the VP of his family owned business, L.E. Roselli Food Specialties in Medford, NJ. A graduate of Holy Cross H.S. he went onto graduate from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and then returned to his family's business. He is a member of the Medford-Vincentown Rotary Club where he served as their Secretary and was also a Past President and Past Vice President and a Trustee for the Foundation. He was also a member of the Medford Lakes Country Club. He is the beloved husband of Laura A. Roselli (Nee Grayson) of Mt. Laurel, NJ and the Loving father of Matthew L. and Leo C. He is also survived by his parents Leo E. and Dolores A. (Nee Rizzo) Roselli of Medford, NJ, his sister Pam Birkenheuer and her husband Hank of West Berlin, NJ, his in-laws Reds & Laura Grayson of Mt. Laurel, NJ and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his Rotary family. ROSENBLUM, Frieda on December 14, 2008, of Atco, formerly of Marlton NJ. Age 88. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Rosenblum. Dear mother of Deborah Tranbarger and Helen Natalie DiCianno. Loving grandmother of Frederick and Michael Meister, Melissa and Erica Tranbarger, Ralph DiCianno and Charles Battle and great grandmother of Lauren, Cody, Dylan, Zachary, Maximillian, Eric, Ashley and David. Ross, John Thomas

John Thomas Ross, 81, of Avalon, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at his home. Born in Gloucester City, to the late David A. and Sarah Jane (Rhodenbaugh) Ross, he moved his family here in 1977 after summering here since 1963. He moved to Cape May County for the love of the shore. He loved his house and enjoyed maintaining it. He owned a trucking company and was a warehouse manager for Letty Lane Candy Company with Teamsters Local 676 in Collingswood. He ended his career as a carpenter for Ross Construction. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, boating and building models of railroads and trucks.

Mr. Ross is survived by his children, John Thomas Ross, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Drexel Hill, PA, David Christian Ross and his wife, Susan of Cape May Court House, Carol Lynn Brown and her fiancé, Dean Krautter of Avalon, Robert Allen Ross and his wife, Diane of Stone Harbor, and Doris Jean Eversmeyer and her husband, John of Potomac Falls, VA; and his eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine A. Ross on June 2, 1996.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08210 or the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201.
