Robert J. Johnson, 58, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Saturday , February 6, 1999 in Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic, NJ.

He was a former laborer for the Doggett Corp., Lebanon, NJ.

Born December 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Charles and Martha Quackenbuh Johnson, Sr.

He is survived by a step-sister, Arabella Nichols of Ocean City, MD, and many nieces and nephews. Four brothers, William, Ronald, John, Sr. and Charles Jr. all died earlier.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 1999 in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Burial will be in the Stanhope Union cemetery , Netcong, NJ. Calling hours will be from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home.

John R. Johnson, Sr.

John R. Johnson, Sr., 66, of Phillipsburg, formerly of Hollywood, Florida, died Tuesday, June 30, 1992 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born November 13, 1925 in Dover, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles and Martha (Quackenbuh) Johnson, Sr.

He and his wife, the former Blanche Oakes, observed their 48th wedding anniversary April 15th.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons; John R., Jr., Alex J., Ronald and George, all of Phillipsburg and Donald of Madison, Florida; five daughters, Martha Henderson and Margaret Johnson, both of Phillipsburg, Mary Ellen Jandle and Blance Lewis, both of Madison, Fla., and Beatrice Cassler of Cranbury, NJ; two brothers, Robert of Phillipsburg and William of Dover, NJ; thirty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A daughter, Frances died in 1967.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the United Methodist cemetery , Succasunna, Morris County, NJ.

Clarence J. Jones, Jr.

Clarence J. Jones, Jr., 59, of Palmer Twp., died Friday, September 16, 2005 in Easton Hospital.

He was a machinist for UniCast in Palmer Township. He was a former package handler for ABX Air, Fogelsville and was a sales representative for Ralph Esposito or Pittsburgh, Pa. and Kennametal in Latrobe, Pa.

Born September 1, 1946 in Newton, N.J., he was a twin son of the late Clarence J. Jones Sr., and Rose M. Kadys Jones Clausen.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He was an Army veteran.

He attended studied electrical engineering at both Newark College of Engineering and Lafayette College.

He was a member of the Safety First Volunteer Fire Co., West Easton and the Palmer Athletic Association.

Clarence and his wife, the former Mary C. "Connie" Capone celebrated their thirty-seventh wedding anniversary October 7, 2004.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason D. at home; his twin brother, Lawrence J. and his wife Kathleen of Walnutport, Pa.; a sister, Patricia Flanagan of West Berlin, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Lucy Capone and a brother-in-law, Richard Capone and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane cemetery , Palmer Township.

Willard H. Jones

Willard H. Jones, 75, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998 upon arrival at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.

We was a police officer for twenty-five years with the Phillipsburg Police Dept. and retired as the chief of police in 1974.

Born June 19, 1922 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Henry L. and Sarah M. Hicks Jones.

After his retirement, he worked for McGinley Mills in Phillipsburg for twelve years.

He was a signalman first class in the Navy during World War Two. He served with the Pacific Fleet and served on-board the USS Neuendorf, USS St. George, USS Hamlin and USS Counsel. He received the World War Two Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific medal and the American Area Medal.

He was a member of the Policeman's Benevolent Association, Local 56, Phillipsburg; the Garnet Booster Club of Phillipsburg; the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association and the National Geographic Society.

He and his wife, the former June A. Mondeau observed their forty-seventh wedding anniversary December 1.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Alan W. of Alpha; two daughters, Carol Nye of Mont Clare, PA and Lori B. Miller of Wilson Boro; three brothers, Barclay of High Bridge, NJ, Samuel of Lopatcong and Robert of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Mary Smith of Nokomis, Fla and Sarah Stem of Easton and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will he held 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Calling hours will be held 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.

Luanne C. Jorgenson

Luanne Clair Jorgenson, 63, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, October 23, 2002 in Manor Care Health Services in Palmer Township, Pa.

She was a registered nurse at Warren Hospital for thirty-five years after her graduation from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Allentown, Pa.

Born November 6, 1938 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Kathleen Laughlin Smith.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She is survived by a son, John M. Jorgenson of Phillipsburg, a daughter, Kathleen A. Hartzell and her husband Daniel and a granddaughter Kaitlyn, of Palmer Twp.

Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp., N.J. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions my be sent to the Warren Hospital Foundation, In Memory of Luanne C. Jorgenson, 185 Roseberry St., Phillipsburg, N.J. 08865.

Michael J. "Pappy" Kasza, Sr.

Michael James "Pappy" Kasza, 52, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, February 14, 2002 in his home.

He was a self-employed contractor in the Phillipsburg area.

Born July 5, 1949 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the former Gladys Happel, with whom he resided, and the late Stephen J. Kasza, Sr. who died in 1962.

He enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son Michael J., Jr., of Phillipsburg; two daughters, Wendy Nelson of Phillipsburg and Michelle of Lancaster, Pa.; three brothers, Lawrence, Sr. and Jody, both of Phillipsburg and Ronald of Allentown; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Stephen J., Jr. and Barry, Sr., both died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Alpha Presbyterian cemetery , Alpha, NJ. A visitation period will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

The family will accept memorial contributions sent to them in care of the funeral home.

Horton 'Buddy' Kearns

Horton 'Buddy' Kearns, 57, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Tuesday in the VA Medical Center, in Lyons, NJ. where he was a guest since 1993.

Born August 29, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Marie Osborn Kearns.

He was a private in the Army.

He is survived by a brother, Edward of Maryland, a brother-in-law, John Kostolanci, with whom he lived and neices and nephews. Two brothers, Richard and Russell and a sister, Anna Kostolanci all died earlier.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Phillipsburg cemetery , Filmore St., Phillipsburg. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg.

Louis Kievning

Louis Kievning, 57, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, March 24, 1996 in his home.

He was a foreman for the former Phillips Mfg. Co. in Newark and was also a foreman for Gradco in Denville, NJ, and last worked in 1991 as an assembler for the Ace Venetian Blind, Co. In Bloomfield, NJ.

Born October 8, 1938 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Louis S. and Josephine Pelly Kievning.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of the Seventh Ward Democratic Club, The Weston Club and the Concordia Maennerchor Club, all of Easton. He was also a social member of the Jersey Hose Fire Co., Phillipsburg;

His wife, the former Dorothy Ann Burdick died in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Louis R. of Phillipsburg, Michael of Easton and Christopher, with whom he lived; one brother, Russell of Hillside, NJ; two sisters, Lorraine Cove of Clifton, NJ and Ruth Stryker of Irvington, NJ; one sister, Joan died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 8:00 PM Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Private cremation will be held after the services and the remains will be buried at the convenience of the family in the Somerfield cemetery , Oxford, NJ. Call 6:00 P.M. until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the family, in care of Louis R. Kievning, 559 South Main St., Apt. 3, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865, or may be made at the funeral Tuesday evening.

Howard F. "Joe" King, Jr.

Howard F. "Joe" King, Jr., 73, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, November 5, 1996 in Warren Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 19 days.

He was a truck driver for Keplers Fuel Company in Easton, retiring in 1980. He had also been a driver for Shell Oil Company and C.K. Williams of Easton.

Born June 3, 1923 in Easton, he was the son of the late Howard F. King Sr.

He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Phillipsburg.

He was a Machinist's Mate Third Class with the Construction Battalion in the Navy. He was awarded the World War Two Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and the American Theatre Ribbon.

He and his wife, the former Phyllis E. Mount observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on October 12.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Betty Ann Gordon and Jane M. Nickel, both of Phillipsburg and Joanne Keller of Bath and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. There will be no calling hours.

Kathryn "Kitty" Kinney

Kathryn "Kitty" Kinney, 93, of the Brakeley Park Center, Lopatcong Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 in the Center.

Born Decemer 3, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella Shaffer Quick.

She was a sales clerk for Grollman's in Easton for 25 years.

She was a former member of the Elk's Lodge in Phillipsburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Sigafoos of Frenchtown, a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. A sister, Lois Shoemaker died earlier.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Fairmount cemetery , Phillipsburg. There will be no calling hours.

The family requests memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.

Susan M. Kish

Susan M. Kish, 82, of Emmaus, Pa., formerly of Frenchtown, NJ, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 in her home.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus and was a former member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, Milford, NJ.

Born November 16, 1925 in Wilkes Barre Twp., Pa., she was a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Sieko Heiser.

Sue and her husband, Michael Kish, Jr., observed their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary May 8th.

She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 113, Frenchtown.

In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by two sons, John M. "Jack" of Upper Black Eddy, Pa., and David P. of Sparta, NJ; a daughter, Barbara S. Gubanich and her husband, Drew, of Lower Macungie Twp.; a brother, Joseph Heiser, Sr., of Wilkes Barre; a sister, Ann Marie Barrata and her husband, Michael of Appalachian, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother Adam and four sisters, Mary Yencha, Elizabeth and Anna Heiser and Eleanor Martin.

Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Monday, in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the church, 415 South 6th Street, Emmaus. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery , Emmaus. Visitation will be 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Alice A. Klemka

Alice A. Klemka, 63 of Phillipsburg, died Friday, August 31, 2001 in Easton Hospital.

She was a former waitress having worked at the Key City and Gateway Diners in Phillipsburg and the Tic-Toc Diner in Palmer Twp.

Born July 31, 1938 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Clinton W. and Anna R. Schaffer Barr.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg.

She and her husband, Francis B. Klemka observed their 46th wedding anniversary June 6th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, David F. and Charles J., both of Phillipsburg, Glenn J. of Nazareth, Mark D. of Bangor and Jerry T.C. of Easton; a daughter Cindy G. of Phillipsburg; four brothers, Clinton F. and George H., both of Wilson Borough, Harold A. of Easton and Allen W. of Archbald; a sister, Carolyn J. Meinhart of Bethlehem; fifteen grandchildren and a great grandson. A brother, Royce died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, 278 Chambers St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Burial will be in Phillipsburg cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ.
