Wells, Robert G.

Robert G. Wells, age 59, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Wells was born in New York, NY and lived in Monmouth County prior to moving here in 1976. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and St. John's Law School.

Robert valued family and friendship above all else, his dedication to others was unmatched.

An attorney, Robert was formerly employed by the Cape May County Prosecutors Office for 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Optimist Club and the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club; he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Middle Township Recreation Department and was a member of the Cape May County Bar Association.

An avid outdoorsman, he could often be found boogie boarding down a wave off the Stone Harbor coast, mastering his garden, hiking the Alaskan wilderness, touring England's countryside, or traveling throughout the United States showing his children the beauty of the great outdoors.

Robert will be missed by many. Everyone who knew "Bob" is better for that memory.

He is survived by his wife, Terry; his son: Eben and wife, Amy of Brambleton, Va; his daughters: Jocelyn Grayson and her husband, Tom of Cherry Hill and Sarah McAnaney and her husband, Matthew of North Wildwood; his father, Troward and his wife, Louise of Gulfport, FL; his brothers, Troward and his wife Suzanne of Scotch Plains and Charles and his wife Luellen of Sudberry, Mass; and his three grandchildren: Thomas and Charlotte Grayson and Emelia Wells, who loved their "Pappy". He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Schmidt Wells.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at 3 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Welsh, Barbara J.

Barbara J. Welsh (nee McClennen) on June 15, 2004 of the Lutheran Home of Moorestown, formerly of Marlton and Medford. Age 70.

Beloved mother of four children, James T. and his wife, Shelly of Lakewood, WA, Matthew C. and his wife, Kathleen of Kutztown, PA, Joan Lee and her husband, Jay Cohen of Delanco, NJ and Timothy J. and his wife, Michelle of Medford Lakes, NJ. She is also survived by a brother, Richard McClennen of Manasquan, NJ and 13 grandchildren. She is the sister of the late George and the late William McClennen.

She attended Fellowship Alliance Chapel, Medford and was a former member of the Garden Club in Medford Lakes.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday from 10:30 - 11 AM at Fellowship Alliance Chapel, Church Road, Medford, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM. Burial of cremains in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, FL.

Welsh, William R.

WELSH, on March 3, 2003, William R. of Haddonfield NJ. Age 66. Beloved brother of Peggy J. Redman of Barrington. He is survived by 4 nieces and 4 nephews, 6 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew and 1 great great niece. Bill was the former owner of the Sunflower Shop on Johnson Hwy., Norristown PA. He was a member of the Norristown Rotary Club and Sons of the American Legion, Haddonfield. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday March 22, 2003 at 6pm at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield 124 Kings Hwy East, Haddonfield. Interment will be private. Wenner, Theron S.

WENNER, on February 21, 2003, THERON ("Ted") S., Sr. Age 83. Resident of Pennsauken, NJ for 46 yrs. Formerly of Camden, NJ. Beloved husband of Maria P. (nee Patterson). Loving father of Theron S. Wenner Jr. and his wife Frances of Owego, NY. Grandfather of Preston and Lorrie Wenner, both of Owego, NY. Also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Jane Wenner, and nephew David Wenner, both of Benton, PA. Predeceased by his brother Carlton. Mr. Wenner was a Mason, and was a member of: Trimble Lodge #117 F. & A. M., Excelsior Consistory A.A.S.R., the Shriners, and the High-Twelve Club. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Werner, The Reverend Kenneth Charles

The Reverend Kenneth Charles Werner, 82, of Avalon, died on Sunday, August 26, 2001, at his home. Born in Torrington, CT, he lived here since 1984 after moving from Glenmoore, PA. He was Rector Emeritus of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, West Vincent in Glenmoore, PA, where he was Rector for 33 years. He was a graduate of Torrington (CT) High School Class of 1936 and the Philadelphia Divinity School. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stone Harbor, the Elks, the American Legion, and was Past President of the Avalon Senior Citizens Organization and the Avalon Home and Landowners Association.

Reverend Werner was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He served on the Staff of Commander Landing Craft Flotillas, Third Amphibious Force and engaged in the occupation of the New Georgia Islands, Treasury Island, Bougainville, and Green Island.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth R. Werner of Exton, PA, and David A. Werner of Wayne, PA; his brother, Ellsworth E. Werner of Torrington, CT; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth H. (nee Williams) Werner.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2001 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ and Saturday, September 1, 2001 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, West Vincent, 7 St. Andrew's Lane, Glenmoore, PA. Werner, James P.

Werner, James P., of Turnersville, age 60, was taken home to rest with His Lord on July 17, 2002 after a long illness.

Beloved husband of Charlene (nee Huntley). Devoted father of Monica, Nicole and Renee. Loving grandfather of Michael. Also survived by sisters in law Sally Huntley and Diane Snipas, ‘sister’ Geraldine Fairfull and special friends Carmen and Patricia Gagliano.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday evening 6-8 pm and 8:15-9:15 am Monday morning at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday at Holy Family Church, 226 Hurfville Rd., Turnersville. Interment New St. Mary’s cemetery, Bellmawr.

West, Loretta R.

WEST, on October 12, 2002, LORETTA R. (nee Reese) of Cherry Hill, NJ. Formerly of Ridgewood, NJ and Toledo, OH. Age 81. Beloved wife of 61 yrs to Jack West. West, Robert

Robert West, 82, of Whitesboro, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at Court House Convalescent Center. He was born in Montezuma, GA and moved from Orlando, FL to Wildwood in 1961 and to Whitesboro in 1963. He married Mary Leggett in 1938. She preceded him in death on March 22, 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. He didn't join groups or organizations, but helped a lot of people when they asked for help.

Mr. West is survived by his son, William E. West, Sr. of Green Creek; his foster son, Edward McCray of Woodbine; his grandchildren, William E. West, Jr. of Wildwood and Chanel Snyder of Bridgeton; his great nephew, Danie Brown and his wife, Patricia of Whitesboro, and their children, Matthew and Malik; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Main Street, Whitesboro, where relatives and friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Household of Ruth cemetery, Whitesboro. Westcott, Dorothy E.

Dorothy E. Westcott, 94, of Rio Grande, NJ, died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. She was born in Philadelphia, and lived here for the past 30 years. She was a retired food service worker for the Philadelphia Public School System and attended the Tabernacle Methodist Church in Erma, NJ

She is survived by a brother: Roy Murray of Estell Manor, NJ; and these nieces and nephews: Carolee Murray of Aspen, CO, Roy Murray, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Kitty Hawk, NC, Rodney Murray and wife, Heather, of Middletown, DE, Dorothy and husband;; Glenn Arens of Holland, MI, Arlene Murray of E. Vineland, NJ, and Deborah of Estell Manor, NJ.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment is in Hillside cemetery, Roslyn, PA.

WEYGAND, Richard G.

On December 22, 2003 age 55 of Mt. Laurel and Forked River, NJ. Beloved husband of Kathy A. (nee Fedon). Devoted father of Michelle, Jake and Max. Dear brother of David of Belleplain, NJ and Ronald of Gaithersberg, MD. Also survived by loving brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prior to retirement, Mr. Weygand was employed at GE in Camden as a Supervisor for almost 20 years. He was also a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday from 8:15-9:15 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt. 73 South in Marlton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of St. John Neumann, 560 Walton Ave. in Mt. Laurel. Interment will be private. Weyhknecht, Antonette Nafley

ANTONETTE NAFELY WEYHKNECHT, 65, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday at the Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She devoted her life to family and friends, and that is the way she wanted to be remembered. Born in New York City, she lived in Long Branch since 1959.

Surviving are her husband, Leon Weyhknecht; two sons, Leon Weyhknecht III and Mark Weyhknecht; a daughter, Lenor Langan; a sister, Mary Quinn, all of Long Branch; and five grandchildren, Danielle, Leon IV, Mark Jr., James and Michael.

Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held 9 a.m. Monday from the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, Long Branch. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.

Wheeler, Violet A.

WHEELER, on February 10, 2002, Violet A. (nee Rentschler) of Tabernacle NJ, formerly of Marlton and Port Orange FL and born and raised in Reading PA. Age 78. Beloved wife of the late C. John Wheeler. Loving mother of April V. Ament of Reading PA, Leslie A. Wheeler of Pittsburgh PA, Lori C. Rulon of Tabernacle NJ and Melissa D. Hildreth of Port Orange FL. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald and Robert Rentschler, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was a founding member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Marlton and a member of the Berry Basket Quilters of South Jersey. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service on Friday at 11:00am at the Cathedral in the Woods (Protestant Community Church), Medford Lakes. Donations may be made in Violet’s memory to the charity of your choice.

White, Lyder Yetta

Lyder Yetta White, 80, of Cape May Court House, died on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at her home. Born in New York to the late Benjamin and Mary Anna (Henry) Spaulding, she had lived here for 33 years after moving from the Bronx, NY. She was a member and missionary of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. She volunteered with the ARC in Rio Grande.

Mrs. White is survived by her children, John White, Joyce Anderson, and Robert White, all of Cape May Court House; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in December 1981.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Route 9 and Main Street, Whitesboro, where friends may call after 11 a.m. There will be no final viewing after the service. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Whitt, Elizabeth J.

ELIZABETH J. WHITT, (Nee Scott), passed away on Saturday, April 24th, 2004 at her home in Browns Mills, NJ. She was 71 yrs. of age. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, she is the daughter of the late Kenneth & Ada Scott and has lived in Browns Mills for the past 33 yrs, moving there from Tabernacle, NJ. She is the beloved wife of Clyde E. Whitt of Browns Mills, NJ and the loving Mother of Gary L. Lucas of Cape Cod, MA, Violet M. Sawyer and her husband Perry of Lincoln, NB and Kathryn M. Fleming and her husband Mike of Hancock, ME. She is also survived by her bother Kenneth Scott of Vincentown, NJ and also 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. WHITTENDALE, Leona

On May 29, 2004 of Southampton, formerly of Audubon. Age 89. Beloved wife of the late Thomas G. Whittendale. Loving mother of Myrtle A. Fisher of Southampton. Devoted grandmother of Harry B. Fisher (and his wife Sam) and Bonnie Lee Barker (and her husband Douglas). Great grandmother of Tara and Cole Query. Mrs. Whittendale was a bowling champion, a semi-pro roller skater who was still skating at age 80, and a swimmer who had received numerous awards. She was still working out at the gym 6 hours a week at age 81, and was employed at McDonald's Restaurant (Walmart) in Marlton at age 83. She was also very active at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Oaklyn for 42 years. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 10-11am Wednesday

Widmeier, James Francis

James Francis Widmeier age 58, of West Allenhurst died Sunday January 18, 2004 at home. He was an insurance agent for 30 years with Prudential Insurance Company. He was a parishioner of St Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch. Born in Toms River, he had lived in West Allenhurst since 1972. He was predeceased by parents, Harry C. and Frances Widmeier.

Surviving is his wife, Margaret Hagel Widmeier; 3 brothers, Harry Widmeier, Long Beach Island, Bill Widmeier, Massachusetts, and John Widmeier, Manasquan.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third and Franklin Avenues, Long Branch on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral Thursday January 22, at 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St Michael's Church. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Widmeier, Margaret

Margaret Hagel Widmeier, age 62, of W. Allenhurst died Monday, March 1 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a French teacher at Holmdel High School for 36 years where she received many "favorite teacher" awards from her students. She retired in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch where she was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, Stephen's Ministries and the Welcoming Committee. Born in Kansas City, MO, she was a life resident of the shore area. She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, James Widmeier in January of this year. She is survived by her brother, Fred Hagel of Kansas City, MO and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third, Long Branch on Sunday, March 7, from 1-5 pm. WIESSNER, Edward

On October 23, 2002 of Collingswood, NJ formerly of Camden, NJ; age 68 years.

Dear brother of, Joseph Wiessner of Glendora, John Wiessner of Collingswood and George Wiessner of Woodlynne; Loving uncle of 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Wiessner was a security guard for the Camden County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years.
