Charlotte B. Olah

Charlotte B. French-Olah, 78, of Bethlehem Township, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in Old Orchard Health Services in Bethlehem Twp.

Charlotte was a clerk at the Surprise Store in Easton for thirty-one years and then worked for Catholic Charities in Phillipsburg for fifteen years as a social services worker.

Born January 25, 1925 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Bertha Fritz Foulk.

She was a member of the Catholic faith, the Heckman House Social Club, Phillipsburg, and enjoyed playing bingo.

Charlotte will be remembered for her love of her family and the special way she cared for others. There was never anything she wouldn't do for someone who needed help. She touched many lives, especially through her work with Catholic Charities.

Survivors include three sons, Harry "Chuck" French and his wife Debra of Phillipsburg, Glenn French and his wife Tracee and Joseph Olah and his wife Gina, both of Palmer Twp.; three daughters, Lynda Maloney and her companion Guy of Baytown, Texas, Belinda Callery and her husband Patrick of Phillipsburg and Lisa Picione and her husband Joseph of Bethlehem Twp.; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was looking forward to the birth of another grandchild expected later this month. A brother, Francis Foulk and a sister, Virginia Bare and a grandson, Dennis R. Miller, Jr. all died earlier.

Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Palmer Twp. Father Scott R. Ardinger will be the celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Catholic Charities, 309 South Main St., Phillipsburg, N.J. 08865.

Anna R. (Bubba) Ostili

Anna R. (Bubba) Ostili, 73, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 in Warren Hospital.

Anna formerly worked as an accounting clerk for Ingersoll-Rand, Cameron Division in Phillipsburg for 12 years. She later worked as a cashier for Woolworth's in the Hillcrest Mall, Phillipsburg for 20 years.

Born April 3, 1930 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Bock) Bubba.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where she was a also a member of the Over-Fifties Club.

She a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389, Phillipsburg. She was also a former troop leader for the Junior Catholic Daughters.

She was a member of the Phillipsburg Chapter of the A.A.R.P.

Anna enjoyed bowling all her life and bowled with the Tri-City Toppers Bowling League at Warren Lanes every Thursday night.

Family was important to Anna and she valued time they spent together. She organized family reunions, kept in touch in with relatives in Italy and Australia and spent countless hours tracing family genealogy. In 2001, she traveled to Vena, Italy to visit the town where her father was born and saw the house where he lived.

Anna and her husband, Artenno would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this September 12th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Valerie A. Lusardi of Lopatcong Twp. and her husband, Joseph and their daughter, Lauren; a brother Dominick J. of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Catherine Moran of Phillipsburg and Mary Slingland of Palmer Twp. A brother Andrew died earlier.

Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Philip and James Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg, with the Rev. Vincent P. Chen officiating. Entombment will follow the Mass in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., N.J. Visitation will be held Tuesday (THIS EVENING) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Julia M. Orlowsky

Julia M. Orlowsky, 76, of Mansfield Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg, died Monday, May 14, 2001 in her home.

She was an extruder for the former Bock Plastic Company in Phillipsburg before she retired in 1976.

Born August 25, 1924 in Williams Twp., she was the daughter of the late Ray L. and Martha Roseberry Rose.

Her hobbies included playing bingo and cards.

She is survived by five brothers, Roy F. of Texas, Russell S. of Easton, Bruce and John M., both of Phillipsburg and Hugh of Hellertown; three sisters, Emma A. Agosta and Cora H. Turner, both of Easton and Deborah A. Szmodis of Hellertown and many nieces and nephews. A son Theodore and a sister, Ruth M. Rose both died earlier.

The Rev. John D. Kleist, Pastor of the First Lutheran Church, Stewartsville, will officiate funeral services 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 p.m. until time of services Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairmount cemetery , Phillipsburg.

Evelyn V. Palmer

Evelyn V. Palmer, 86, of White Township, died Saturday, December 29, 2001 in the Lopatcong Center.

She was a former clerk at Marshall Field's in Chicago, ILL.

Born November 16, 1915 in Portland Maine , she was the daughter of the late Hans R. and Elizabeth Pearson Pufahl.

She graduated Wright Junior College in Chicago, ILL.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Her husband, Richard S. Palmer died in 1998.

She is survived by a son, Kimberly R. Palmer of Oxford, NJ and two granddaughters. A brother, Albert and a sister Lisa Thulstrup both died earlier.

Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours or services. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy C. Paolini

Judy C. Paolini, 74, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, March 23, 1998 in Easton Hospital.

She and her husband, the late Americo Paolini, owned and operated Paolini's Concrete Lawn Ornaments in Phillipsburg for many years. She had also worked for the Strongwear Pants Factory, M.M. Bernstein's and the Surprise Store, all in Easton. She had also worked as a lunchroom aide for the Phillipsburg School District.

Born May 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Josephine Plevak Wlodarcik.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling at Warren Lanes.

She is survived by a son, John E. of Easton and a daughter, Marie F. Rissmiller of Easton and A granddaughter and two grandsons. She had resided with her grandson, James S. Paolini. A daughter Joanne and a brother Edward both died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be held in St. Philip and St. James cemetery , Greenwich Twp. A calling hour will be held 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Andrew Elias Parker

Andrew E. Parker, 23, of Bethlehem Township, Pa., formerly of Pohatcong Township, N.J., died Friday, September 6, 2002 in an apartment he shared with his brother, Daniel A. Parker, who was also found dead in their apartment. Their deaths are believed to be a direct result of Andrew's depression that he's battled for two-and-a-half years.

Born November 13, 1978 in Medellin, Colombia, Mr. Parker was 7 years old when he moved to America with his parents, Cortlandt and Esperanza Escobar Parker, Jr. He grew up in Pohatcong Township, attended the Pohatcong Township Elementary School, and was graduated in 1997 from Phillipsburg High School.

Mr. Parker was an Edward Bloustein Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society at Phillipsburg High School, where he was heavily involved in clubs. The first student to win an interscholastic debating championship at Phillipsburg High School, he also played varsity tennis for two years.

Mr. Parker studied political science and economics at George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and eventually focused his studies on international business. Although he was a Republican, he interned in the office of U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli, D-N.J., as well as with two Washington-based think tanks. He also captained the college’s rugby team as a sophomore.

In January 2000, Mr. Parker and his father shared a first place award in interpretive writing from the New Jersey Press Association for an article on the constitutionality of curfews they wrote for the Hunterdon Review, a weekly newspaper based in Clinton, N.J., of which his father is editor.

He was preparing to resume college at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., where he had enrolled for the fall semester.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Cortlandt J. and Jeremiah, also of Pohatcong; their paternal grandmother, Nancy Knowles Parker of Boston, Mass., and Portsmouth, R.I.; their maternal grandfather, Luis Horacio Escobar of Medellin, Colombia; their uncle, Stephen W. Parker, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bernardsville; their aunts, Elizabeth K. Parker and her husband, Mark J. Magyar, of the Millington section of Long Hill Township, and Nancy Parker Wilson and her husband, William, of Boston, Mass.; 12 aunts and uncles in Colombia, and numerous cousins in both the United States and Colombia.

Joint memorial services for Andrew and Daniel will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln St., Phillipsburg. There will be no visitation or calling hours. Their cremated remains will be interred in St. Mary's cemetery in Portsmouth, R.I. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, N.J. is handling the arrangements.

Daniel Anthony Parker

Daniel A. Parker, 22, of Bethlehem Township, Pa., died Friday, September 6, 2002 in an apartment he shared with his brother, Andrew Parker who was also found dead in their apartment. Their deaths are believed to be a direct result of Andrew's depression that he's battled for two-and-a-half years.

Born March 22, 1980 in Medellin, Colombia, Mr. Parker was 5 years old when he came to New Jersey with his parents. He grew up in Pohatcong, attended the Pohatcong Township Elementary School, and was graduated in 1999 from Phillipsburg High School.

Mr. Parker was a top interscholastic wrestler. During his junior years at Phillipsburg High School, he wrestled in the 119-pound weight class for the PHS team that won the overall state championship and was nationally ranked. As a senior, he made it to the state regional finals. Like his older brother, he was a brown belt in karate – one notch below black belt.

He attended Northampton Community College for a year, then decided he wanted to study computer technology to fulfill his career goal of designing video games. He enrolled at Lincoln Technical Institute and was scheduled to begin classes this month.

Mr. Parker also was interested in acting, and, like his brother Andrew, wanted to spend time as a Christian missionary after completing his studies.

Surviving are his parents Cortlandt and Esperanza Escobar Parker, Jr. of Pohatcong; two brothers, Cortlandt J. and Jeremiah, also of Pohatcong; their paternal grandmother, Nancy Knowles Parker of Boston, Mass., and Portsmouth, R.I.; their maternal grandfather, Luis Horacio Escobar of Medellin, Colombia; their uncle, Stephen W. Parker, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bernardsville; their aunts, Elizabeth K. Parker and her husband, Mark J. Sarah P. Parnell

Sarah P. Parnell, 97, formerly of Scranton, Pa., died Sunday February 18, 2007 at the Brakeley Park Center, Lopatcong Twp., N.J.

Born April 25, 1909 in Friedensburg, Schuylkill County, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Harrison M. and Laura Brown Kramer.

Sarah was a licensed practical nurse, and did private duty nursing for many years in Scranton, Pa.

For twenty years, she and her husband, the late John Howard Parnell owned and operated Parnell’s Luncheonette in downtown Scranton.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Scranton. She also volunteered at the Senior Craftsman Shop in Scranton.

Sarah is survived by a son, John H. Parnell, Jr. of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Nancy Migliacci of Easton, Pa., five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Private cremation was held under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home of Phillipsburg, N.J.

Jennie Patti

Jennie A. Patti, 92, of Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, November 9, 1994 in Warren Hospital.

She worked most of her life for the Standard Silk Mill in Phillipsburg as a machine operator.

Born February 27, 1902 in Passaic, NJ, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Di Pietro Alfier.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. She was a former member of the Maria Assunta Society and the Garibaldi Society of Easton.

She is survived by a son, George Elmo of Lawrenceville, NJ; two daughters, Angelina Viola of Raritan, NJ and Rosalie Calwonsen of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Grace Franceschino and Mary Torcivia, both of Phillipsburg; a step-son, Charles Ganguzza of Phillipsburg; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held will be held at 8:15 a.m. from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 pm. Thursday.

Lena E. Passori

Lena E. Passori, 71, of Phillipsburg, died January 19, 1999 in Warren Hospital.

She formerly worked for Wise Potato Chips as a secretary; Dixie Cup in Wilson Borough as a nurses aide and a medical clerk at Easton Hospital. She last worked for Nytronics in Alpha and Phillipsburg.

Born May 15, 1927 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Josephine DeNardo Calcagnetti.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where she was a former member of the choir.

She was a former Red Cross Volunteer and Troop Leader of the Junior Catholic Daughters. She was a current member of the Catholic Daughters of the America's, Court Warren 395.

Her husband, the late James A. Passori died June 30, 1994.

She is survived by a son, James J. of Washington, NJ; four daughters, Deanna J. Kline of Dushore, Pa., Yvonne M. Rittenhouse of Palmer Township, Linda M. Brennan of Williams Township and Madeline I Hudson of Perry, Georgia; a brother, Santo Calcagnetti of Bethlehem Township, NJ; two sisters, Angelina Mondillo of Easton and Genevieve Lynch of Bath; ten grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the New Catholic cemetery , Bangor, Pa. Calling hours will be held 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Rose M. Patti

Rosina "Rose" M. Patti, 73, of Macungie, Pa, formerly of Lopatcong Twp., N.J., died Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., PA.

Born December 22, 1932 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Maria Chiaravolotti Pugliese.

Rose and her husband, John, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary July 24, 2005.

A 1952 graduate of Phillipsburg High School, she worked at the Federal Bake Shop and Easton Dress, both in Easton. She then graduated Empire Beauty School, Easton and was a beautician for several years. She worked at Freddie's in Easton and the Pompey Wig Salon in New Village, N.J. She and her husband owned and operated Jon's Tavern in Wilson Borough, and Giovanni's Italian Market, in Phillipsburg and at the Allentown Farmer's Market. They both retired in 2001.

She was a former member of Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg and attended St. Ann's Church in Emmaus, Pa.

In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by a daughter, AnnMarie Stobb and her husband Walter "Chip" Stobb II of Macungie, with whom she resided; a son, Jon and his wife Elaine, of Forks Twp.; four granddaughters, Gianna, Gabrielle, Noelle and Terace; a grandson, Michael and many nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Salvatore, Joseph and Anthony and two sisters, Mary Russo and Ruth Tolotta all died earlier.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, is handling the arrangements.

Those planning as expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania, 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Rosalia P. "Rose" Patti

Rosalia P. "Rose" Patti, 84 of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 in Warren Hospital.

Born April 29, 1920 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Santa Glorioso Patti.

She was a member of Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She was a member of Abilities of Northwest Jersey, in Washington, N.J. and a member of the Holy Cross Society of Easton.

Survivors include two brothers, John of Phillipsburg and Salvatore of Cocoa, Fla; two sisters, Maria S. Famularo and Frances Colasurdo, both of Phillipsburg. Four brothers, Samuel, Theodore "Tizio", Nicholas, Joseph and Charles all died earlier.

Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Theodore "Tizio" Patti

Theodore "Tizio" Patti, 72, of the Spectrum for Living, Closter, Bergen County, NJ, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Monday, July 13, 1998 in his home.

Born February 6, 1926 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Santa Glorioso.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He is survived by three brothers, Samuel and John, both of Phillipsburg and Salvatore of Florida; three sisters, Frances Colasurdo, Rose Patti and Maria Famularo, all of Phillipsburg, and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Nicholas, Joseph and Charles all died earlier.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp., NJ. There will be no calling hours.

The family requests memorial contributions to the church, 430 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
