Gilroy, Joseph B., age 83, a contract officer for New York University, NYC, NY, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida. Mr. Gilroy served in the US Marine Corps during WW II. Mr. Gilroy lived in West Milford, NJ and wintered in Sunrise, FL. He is survived by his wife Doris Lee (Zuccaro). He was the son of Joseph and Gilda Gilroy. Visiting at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Friday (3/2) from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. DeFreese, Floyd A., 72, a lifelong resident of Ringwood, on Sunday, November 25, 2007. He is survived by a sister, Beatrice Mann and a niece, Trish Milligan. Mr. DeFreese was born in Ringwood the son of the late Harry and Florence DeFreese. Funeral services Wednesday (11/28), 1:00 PM at the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Final disposition private. Daniels, Kathleen J. (Hontz), 52, of Hewitt formerly of Butler on Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Mrs. Daniels was a self-employed animal activist. She is survived by a son, Timothy J.C. Daniels, a brother, Clark Hontz, her stepmother, Caroline Thomas and three stepbrothers, Jeff, Alan and John Thomas. Her husband, Robert, predeceased her. Coiro, Angelo A., 58, a management consultant for A. J. Clark, New York, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at his home in Kinnelon. Mr Coiro was a member of the Smoke Rise Players and a Band member of "The Indenials". Mr. Coiro was a 20 year resident of Kinnelon and was previously from North Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Bertha (Silva); two daughters, Karen Young and Rachel Coiro; a sister, Katherine Khan and a granddaughter, Ella Young. Ciaburri, Andrew, age 83, a retired test deskman for N.J. Bell Telephone, Paterson, where he worked for 37 years, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, New Jersey. He was the son of Michael and Esther (D'Amato) Ciaburri. He served in the Navy during World War II having attained the rank of Baker Second Class (T)SV6. Mr. Ciaburri was a member of the Christ Church, Pompton Lakes, McCully Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America, VFW 8096, Butler. Mr. Ciaburri was a Wayne, NJ resident for 53 years. He is survived by his wife Wilma (Mues), a son, Thomas and wife Debra of Wanaque, NJ two daughters, Andrea Lentz and husband Rev. Benjamin of Litchfield, PA and Michele Hughes and husband Thomas of Hewitt, NJ; a brother, Arthur Ciaburri of Haddonfiled, NJ; grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Matthew and Theodore; great grandchild, Bobby. Cicero, Donald R. 78, a 30 year resident of Fort Lee on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. A retired college professor for 13 years, he had been employed by Jersey City State for 40 years. Mr. Cicero was a past President of the National Teachers Association. Surviving are two sons, Jeffery of Spotswood, NJ and Douglas of Kinnelon; one daughter, Janet Cicero of Berkeley Heights, NJ; one brother, Carmen of NYC; one sister, Lorraine Morritz of Wellfleet, MA and four grandchildren. A graduate of Martland Medical Center Nursing School, Newark and NYU, she was a member of Pompton Lakes Golden Agers, a teacher at Passaic Co. Vo Tech and Passaic Community College. Miss Brown lived in Pompton Lakes, NJ for 46 years and was previously from Kearny. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jane (Robertson) Brown. Broschart, Hazel Ellen, (Gaff) age 89, died Monday, March 19, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wayne, NJ. She was a member of the Riverdale Seniors. Mrs. Broschart lived in Riverdale, NJ for 21 years and was previously from Haledon. She was the daughter of John and Grace (Pick) Gaff. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Lyttle of Riverdale, a step-son Jay Broschart, step-daughter Carol Venezia, a brother Frank Gaff of Paterson, NJ, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William Broschart and her first husband, Daniel C. White, a son George L. White, sisters Grace Gropp, Ruth Robinson and her brother Joseph Gaff. Becker, Thomas L., age 57, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at his residence in Bloomingdale. He was a life long resident of Bloomingdale. Before retirement, his was a self employed excavating contractor. Mr. Becker was a volunteer fireman for the Bloomingdale Fire Department and was an Exempt Fireman. He is survived by his mother, Esther Becker of Bloomingdale; two brothers, James of Kinnelon and David of Bloomingdale; one sister, Martha of Stroudsburg, PA; one nephew, John of Butler; two neices, Jennifer of Maryland and Christine of Stroudsburg, PA. Allen, Ruth A. (McClintock), 87, of West Milford, NJ formerly of Elizabeth, PA and Flat Rock, MI died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Milford Manor Nursing Home, West Milford, NJ. Born August 31, 1919 in Forward Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Charlotte (Hofmeister) McClintock and wife of the late Paul Allen. Former active member of the Flat Rock Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter Louise Zielinski of West Milford, NJ, a son, Harry Allen of San Antonio, TX, a brother, Samuel McClintock of Atlanta, GA. Willmott, Frederick W., 89, a retired bank officer for Manufactures Hanover Bank, NYC, on Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Born in Weehawken to the late William and Barbara (Lachenauer) he lived in Union City before moving to West Milford 33 years ago. Mr. Willmott was a World War II Army veteran, attaining the rank of T-5 and a member of the West Milford American Legion. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Donald), a daughter-in-law, Karen Willmott, a sister, Barbara Barrett, a granddaughter, Denise Masanko and two great grandchildren, Alexei and Zander Masanko. She is survived by her husband Paul, two daughters Heather Vanker of Parsippany, NJ and Nicole Vanker of West Milford, NJ and a grandson Alexander. Thompson, Lena J. (Jacobia) "Midge", age 79, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Wanaque. She was the daughter of Mable (Vreeland) and Henry Jacobia, she resided there before moving to Hewitt seven years ago. She was retired from the former N.J. Bell Telephone in Riverdale where she worked as a telephone operator. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son, Roland Thompson Jr. of Queensbury, NY; two daughters, Karen Saxon of Paterson and Cheryl Woch of Hewitt; one sister, Emma Jane Malmstone of Ringwood and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Thompson in 1990. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11 AM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Stugard, Genevieve (Sprunkel), 93, of Hewitt passed away Friday October 19, 2007. Mother of Walter and Robert Stugard. Grandmother of twelve, Great-Grandmother of three. Predeceased by her husband William, a daughter Marie Mosier, and a son William Stugard. Mrs. Stugard was a member of the West Milford Presbyterian Church and the Upper Greenwood Lake Fire Dept. Storms, Bernard "Ben" "Uncle Ben", age 86, of Haskell, died suddenly after a series of health problems, on Friday, September 14, 2007, in Warsaw, NY, with loving family at his side. Ben was the last surviving member of his original generation of Stormses. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Phyllis; eldest daughter and caregiver, Saundra "Sandi" (James d. 2003) Putnam; two sons, Stephen (Lee) of Warsaw, NY, and Jeffrey (Michele) of Caldwell, ID; and youngest daughter, Stacy (Christopher) Dorland of Rochester, NY. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law (Olga, Gertrude, and June [Hudson]), numerous nieces and nephews, and other relations and friends. Ben was born in Wanaque Borough, and lived there most of his life in the Midvale and Haskell sections. In later years, he lived in Bloomingdale and then West Milford. His last 5 years were spent with his children and their families in western New York. Ben was a veteran of WWII, flying 29 missions over the English Channel as a waist gunner in the Army Air Corps. He loved to reminisce and tell his war tales. After the war, Ben worked nights for several years at E.I. DuPont in Kearney. For the next almost 50 years, his days were spent working with family in his eldest brother Morgan’s business. Loyal customers of Wanaque Supply will remember "Uncle Ben" and his pipe from the hardware department. In his earlier years, Ben loved helping others any way he could. He also was a young marble champion, star baseball pitcher, pool hall aficionado, card shark, and amateur gardener. In his later years, Ben enjoyed being the undisputed Domino Champion of the family. Slodzinski, Anthony, age 94, a retired supervisor for Curtis Wright, Woodridge, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Heritage Assisted Living in Hammonton, NJ. Mr. Slodzinski was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt. He lived in Hammonton, NJ for four years and was previously from West Milford. He is survived by a son Raymond Sloginski of Hammonton, NJ, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Klein) ( 2005) and two sons Gerald and Robert. Romer, James "Jim" Sr., age 65, of West Milford, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007. He was the son of Kathleen (McCullough) and the late Joseph Romer. He resided in Ridgefield Park, NJ and Upper Saddle River, NJ before settling in West Milford, NJ 47 years ago. Mr. Romer was employed by Supermarket Generals Corporation "Pathmark" and was proud to be one of its first employees before staring his own business James Romer Contractor, Inc. which focused on supermarket renovations and construction. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Cramer) Romer for 37 years; father of James and his wife Judy, Mary Ellen and her husband William, John and his wife Karen and grandfather of Jennifer, Gregory, Michelle, Brianna and Allyson; brother of Jean Sheilds, Kathleen Graf, Sharon McGraw, Daniel Romer; predeceased by Patricia Romer; many nieces and nephews; two aunts, Agnes Rodda, Aunt Elizabeth Hock; one uncle Thomas McCullough. Robak, Irene R. (Pilitowski) age 92, of Wayne, formerly a 40 year resident of Pompton Lakes died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock. Born in Bayonne, she was the daughter of Paul and Stella Pilitowski. Beloved wife of the late Theodore (1999). Funeral services Friday, June 22, 2007 at 12:00 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Interment Mount Rest cemetery, Butler. Friends may call Friday 10 AM-12 Noon.
