Jeannette Perigrin

FRANKLIN — Jeannette (Federico) Perigrin, 91, died Tuesday after a brief illness at Lakeland Healthcare Center, in Wanaque.

Born to Federico and Filomena Federico in Paterson, she lived in Fairlawn before moving to Franklin in 1999.

Mrs. Perigrin worked as a cutter/folder for Textile Co. in Paterson for many years. Predeceased by her brother, Albert Frederick, in 2003, she is survived by her husband, Andrew Perigrin, of Lafayette; one daughter, Andrea Michelson, of Lafayette, and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin.

James Scholz

ANDOVER — James Scholz, 61, of Andover, died Wednesday after a long illness at the Andover Nursing Center.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., he lived in Hopatcong for 20 years before moving to Andover six years ago. He was employed as a custodian with the Hopatcong Board of Education for 19 years before he retired in 1997.

Mr. Scholz is survived by three brothers, Chris, of Stanhope, Robert, of Pawtucket, R.I., and Ronald, of Barnwell, S.C.; three sisters, Beverly Pittman, of Greenville, S.C., Margaret Schmid, of Silver Springs, Fla., and Elizabeth Jones, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are under the direction of the Morgan Funeral Home, 31-33 Main St., Netcong.

Ada B. Yakel

GREEN — Ada B. Yakel, of Lake Tranquility, died Monday at home.

Born on May 13, 1912, in Carthage, Texas, to the late Calvert and Susie (Stevens) Lindsey, she lived in Dover and then in Lake Tranquility for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Yakel was employed as an accounts receivable clerk with Picatinny Arsenal, in Rockaway, until her retirement in 1974. She was also very active in the Senior Citizens of Rogue River, Ore.

Predeceased by her husband, Jonas W. Yakel, Mrs. Yakel is survived by two sons, Hal Hunt, of Sarasota, Fla., and Jerrel, of Hemut, Calif.; one daughter, Joyce Vanderhoof, of Lake Tranquility; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown.

Frank Chirico Sr.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Frank N. Chirico Sr., 80, died Sunday.

Born in Paterson, N.J., he lived in Totowa, N.J., for 50 years, in Wantage, N.J. for 10 years, before moving to Florida 20 years ago.

Mr. Chirico was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 213 in Wantage, and was a former parishioner of St. James. R.C. Church in Totowa. He was a parishioner of St. Ignatius Cathedral R.C. Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ann Nowicki, in 1999.

Mr. Chirico was survived by his sons, Frank Jr. of Totowa, Paul of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas of Milford, Pa., David of North Palm, Fla., and John of Wantage; his daughters, Elaine Maitland of Brick, N.J. and Nancy Vander Berg of Wantage, and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, N.J.

Shirley Hardy

NEWTON — Shirley Hardy died Tuesday.

She was born in Newton in 1931 to the late Joseph Keslo and Frieda (Keslo) Sporina. Mrs. Hardy lived most of her life in Ogdensburg before moving back to Newton eight years ago. She worked for the Ogdensburg public school system for 27 years.

Mrs. Hardy was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Robert; one grandson, Blake Scymanski, and her stepfather, Joseph Sporina.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Scymanksi and her husband, Dean; two brothers, Joseph and Rich Keslo; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta.

Doris M. McGuire

HOPATCONG — Doris M. McGuire, 63, died Wednesday at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover.

Mrs. McGuire was born in Dover and had resided in the Landing section of Roxbury prior to moving to Hopatcong 40 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopatcong Hills Fire Company No. 4 Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. McGuire was predeceased by her father, John D. Sutton Jr.; her mother, Leona Sutton; a brother, Donald R. Brown and a sister, Audrey M. Riker.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas E.; two sons, Leroy of Bushkill, Pa. and John T. Sr. of Hopatcong; three brothers, Richard Burdge of Hopatcong, John D. Sutton III of Washington Twp. and David N. Sutton of Branchville and six grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Main Road, Landing.

Bernard F. Pisani

VERNON — Bernard Francis Pisani, 81, died Monday after a short illness at Bergen Medical Center in Paramus.

Born to Vito and Maria Pisani in Hoboken, he lived in North Bergen and Milford, Pa., before moving to Vernon in 1996.

Mr. Pisani served with the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He worked as a conductor/brakeman for Jersey Central in Elizabeth for many years before retiring in 1985.

Mr. Pisani was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Pisani in 1995 and two sisters, Rose Krakoski and Angie Valdinino.

He is survived by three sons, Bernard Pisani of Inverness, Fla., Michael of Vernon and James of Inverness, Fla.; three sisters, Terry Minges of Fremont, Calif., and Ruth Harris and Anne Petersen, both of Palisades Park; five grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.

Funeral arrangements are by FERGUSON - VERNON Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon.

Seymour Schwartz

NEWTON — Seymour Schwartz, 80, died Tuesday at the Barn Hill Care Center in Newton.

Born in Newark, he had resided in Irvington and Carteret. He had also lived in Springfield from 1968 until relocating to Newton in 2004.

He was the son of the late Nathan and Rose Szanger Schwartz.

Mr. Schwartz was a United States Army veteran during World War II. He had worked many years as an assembler with the Pen Walt Inc. in Bellville until his retirement.

Mr. Schwartz was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Gubner, in 1948.

He is survived by his brother, Daniel J. Schwartz, of Witchita, Kan.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Route 206), Newton.

Robert Stackpole Sr.

WEST PATERSON — Robert H. Stackpole, Sr., 66, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Stackpole resided in Little Falls before moving to West Paterson 44 years ago. He was a self-employed electrical contractor, known as Stackpole Electrical Services, Inc. of West Paterson.

Mr. Stackpole was a member of Schooley's Mountain Presbyterian Church in Schooley's Mountain; he retired as a chief petty officer with the United States Navy; he was a member of the Passaic County Electrical Contractors Association; former assistant chief of Passaic Valley Hose Company No. 2 of the West Paterson Fire Department; a member of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs Association, the West Paterson and New Jersey State Exempt Fireman's Associations and served as a weekly volunteer at the New Jersey Fireman's Home in Boonton.

Survivors include: his wife, the former Gail Perugini; his daughter, Tracey Gelsinger and her husband, Timothy of Long Valley; his two sons, Robert H. Jr. and his wife, Margarita, of Vernon and Michael J. and his wife, Tracy, of North Canton, Ohio; his sister, Joan Miller of Spring Hill, Fla.; his two brothers, Charles of York, S.C., and Douglas of Sand Springs, Okla.; and his 14 grandchildren

Arrangements are by the Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls.

Staci A. Kruge

VERNON — Staci Ann Kruge, 43, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at home.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she lived in Vernon for 16 years. She was a 1980 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, N.Y.

Mrs. Kruge was self-employed and was a member of the Worship Band and Christian Faith Fellowship Church of Franklin.

She possessed an unmatched creative vision in the field of arts and crafts.

Mrs. Kruge is survived by her husband, Todd; three children, Nicholas, Anna Rose and Austin; her parents, Michael and Natalie of Altoona, Pa.; two sisters, Josephine Jiminez of Ardsley, N.Y. and Andrea Cerullo of Altoona, Pa. and three brothers, Eugene Corino of New York, Michael Cerullo of Westchester, N.Y. and Robert Cerullo of East Brunswick.

A memorial service will be held today, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Church.

Donations may be made in her memory to Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center at www.mskcc.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown.

Jean B. Doty

FRANKFORD — Jean B. Doty, 68, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at home.

Born in Franklin, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Kopcso Kostelni, Mrs. Doty lived in Andover Township for many years before moving to the Culver Lake section of Frankford Township.

She was a member of the Newton High School Class of 1955, which was the first class at the new high school.

Mrs. Doty was the owner/operator of Jean's Antiques in Montague.

She was the beloved wife of 48 years of William R. Jr., whom she married on April 13, 1957; loving mother of two daughters, Belinda Hegarty of Wantage and Sharon Duddy and her husband, Dr. Terry Duddy, of Sandyston, and one son, William R. III, and his wife, Debbie, of Andover Township; loving grandmother of five grandchildren, Jolene, James, Patrick, Erin and Jadynn; one brother, James Kostelni of Virginia; two sisters, Lillian Phillips of Arizona and Jeanette Huck of Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, N.J. 07860.
