Noelle Buist

Manasquan and Oak Ridge resident Noelle Keegan Buist died Monday, May 10 in Duke University Medical Center, Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

She was 64 years old.

Born in North Hudson, she lived in Englewood Cliffs before moving to Oak Ridge. She was a summer resident of Manasquan since 1965.

She graduated from St. Cecelia’s High School, Englewood, and attended Montclair State College.

In the 1950’s Noelle worked as a runway model for Apres Ski Fashion Designer Ernst Engel.

She later worked for the Transportation Department with Jefferson Twp. Board of Education, retiring in 1999.

She was an active member and speaker of the Huffers and Puffers [a respiratory support group], in Morris County.

Mrs. Buist was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Virginia Keegan; and her sister Holly Keegan.

She is survived by her husband Arthur G. Buist; her two daughters Nicole Rossi, Wall, and Chandra Hertel, Trenton; and her two sons Jason Buist, Trenton, and Jonathan Buist, Manasquan.

Services will be held by the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. Visitation will be Friday, May 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Buist’s memory may be made to the United Network of Organ Sharing, P.O. Box 13770, Richmond, Va. 23225.

Memorial Service for Thomas Long

A memorial service for Spring Lake resident Thomas J. Long will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 4 p.m. in the Spring Lake Memorial Community House on the corners of Madison and Third Avenues.

Mr. Long, who died in Delray Beach, Fla. this past winter, will be remembered by friends and family on this day and forever.

All who wish to attend are cordially invited.

Kenneth Testa

Belmar resident Kenneth M. Testa died Monday, May 10 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

He was 57 years old.

Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington and moved to Belmar 32 years ago.

He was a self employed hair stylist.

He was a member of the Shorelan Club of Belmar.

Mr. Testa is survived by his brother Dennis Testa; his sister Ellen Ramirez; and his niece Cassandra Ramirez. His mother Vera Testa died Wednesday May 12, 2004.

Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home.

Vera Testa

Belmar resident Vera Testa died Wednesday, May 12 in Brick Memorial Hospital.

She was 79 years old.

Born in Centrailia, Pa., she lived in Irvington and moved to Belmar 32 years ago.

She was employed with the circulation department of the Asbury Park Press.

She was a member of St. Rose Church, Belmar.

Mrs. Testa was predeceased by her husband Michael Testa in 1979; and her two sons William in 1973 and Kenneth on May 10, 2004.

She is survived by her son Dennis Testa; her daughter Ellen Ramirez; and her granddaughter Cassandra Ramirez.

Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home.

Mary Macom

Bay Head resident Mary Louise Campbell Macom died Saturday, May 15 in Meridian Hospice Center, Brick.

She was 64 years old.

Raised in Short Hills, she lived in Bridgewater and summered in Bay Head, prior to moving to Bay Head year round in 1986.

She graduated from the Miss Beard’s School, Orange, the Katherine Gibbs School, Montclair, and also attended Marymount College, Virginia.

She served on the editorial staff of the Bay Head Yacht Club Newsletter.

She was a Communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head.

She was active in the Seaweeder’s Club of Bay Head and Mantoloking.

Mrs. Macom was predeceased by her father Donald L. Campbell.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dr. J. Morgan Macom Jr., Bay Head; her two daughter’s Amy M. West, Shrewsbury and Holly C. McIntyre, Little Silver; her three sons John M. Macom III, Hoboken, William C. Macom, Tampa, Fla. and Timothy P. Macom, Toms River; her mother Elizabeth Duff-Campbell, Bay Head; her brother Michael D. Campbell, Chevy Chase, Md.; and her seven grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Macom’s memory may be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 750, New York, N.Y. 10131-0304.

Phyliss Boodey

Manasquan resident Phyliss Stensland Boodey died Saturday, May 15 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick, after a long battle with leukemia.

She was 71 years old.

Born and raised in Short Hills, she lived in El Paso, Texas, Yonkers, N.Y. and Point Pleasant before moving to Manasquan in 1967.

She graduated from Millburn High School and Centenary College, Hackettstown. She studied nursing at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, Manhattan and later received her nursing degree from Brookdale Community College.

She worked many years as an RN, first at Point Pleasant Hospital and later at Brick Hospital, before retiring in 1989.

She enjoyed travelling and had visited Russia, Alaska, Hawaii and most of the lower 48 states. She took the trans-Canadian train trip and twice visited China, including the fall semester of 1989 when she taught English at Inner Mongolia University.

Mrs. Boodey was predeceased by her parents Bart and Edna Stensland and by her sister Betty Kelting.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, C. Webster Boodey; her two sons and daughter-in-law, William Mitchell and Gretchen Boodey, Manasquan, and John Barton and Carolyn Boodey, Wrightstown, Pa.; her daughter and son-in-law Pamela Dee and Carl Savoia, Norwalk, Conn.; her six grandsons Anders and Christian Boodey, David and Geoffrey Boodey, Hayden and Calvin Savoia; her brother-in-law Norman Kelting, Litchfield, Maine; and her two nephews George Kelting, Raleigh, N.C. and Peter Kelting, Epsom, N.H.

Pastor Mary Virginia Olson will preside at a service celebrating Mrs. Boodey’s life on Saturday, May 22 at 11 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Main and Osborn Avenues, Manasquan.

The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Boodey’s memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

David Anderson

Bay Head, formerly Manasquan resident David N. Anderson died Saturday, May 15 in his home, following a long battle with cancer.

He was 71 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Manasquan before residing in Bay Head.

He graduated from the Pingry School in Elizabeth and Hillside and attended Columbia University.

He was the founder and owner of designdraw group, a consulting engineering firm in Red Bank and later Manasquan.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his three children Deborah Bebeau, Hillsborough, Robbin Hickey, Manahawkin and Russell Anderson, Sea Bright; and his three grandchildren Brian, Emily and Sean.

Funeral arrangements were from the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home.

Contributions in Mr. Anderson’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

William Moser

Wall resident William E. Moser died Friday, May 14 in Concorde Care Center, Lakewood, after a long battle with cancer.

He was 87 years old.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

As a young man he was a messenger at the American Can Co., Newark.

He went on to become a postman in Sea Girt after moving to Wall in 1951.

He went on to become the Vice-President of the First Jersey Bank, Belmar for many years before retiring in 1981.

He also relished being the President of the American Institute of Banking, and did well with his appointed responsibilities.

He was a member of the Manasquan Elks.

As a young man, he loved to run, once winning an award for being first in a marathon across the Brooklyn Bridge.

He was an avid golfer with Jim and Sy, and walked the boardwalk everyday, even as he got older.

He loved his family and will leave a tremendous void.

Mr. Moser was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Gloria [nee Herbert] Moser in 1995 and his son Rev. John Moser in 1981.

He is survived by his son the Honorable William T. Moser Jr., Claymont, Del.; his three great grandchildren Herbert W. Moser, William T. Moser Jr. and Alice G. Cloud; his four great grandchildren; and his longtime companion and caregiver Patricia Clark with whom he lived.

All services will be private at the convenience of his family with burial in the NJ Veteran’s cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Moser’s memory may be made to Bosco’s Buddies, P.O. Box 258, Oceanport 07757.

Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Marie Higgins

Belmar resident Marie Higgins died Sunday, May 16 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

She was 88 years old.

Born in California, Missouri, she lived in Newark, Kenilworth and Asbury Park before moving to Belmar in 1978.

She was a Communicant of the Church of St. Rose and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.

Mrs. Higgins was predeceased by her husband, Gerald in 1995.

She is survived by her son Gerald, with whom she lived; her daughter Maureen Higgins, Tarreytown, N.Y.; and her sister Livia Corrao, Irvington.

Visiting will be today, Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reilly Funeral Home eighth Ave. and D Street, Belmar. The family will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Church, Belmar.
