MARY CIRIA OLIVAS, 84, of El Llano died Saturday after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bonifacio Vialpando; son, Luciano Vialpando; father, Luciano Olivas; sister, Ascension Olguin; and brothers, Porfirio and Emiliano Olivas.
She is survived by her daughters, Lucy Vigil and husband George and Elaine Martinez and husband Simon, all of Guachupangue, Isabel Romero and Katy Padilla and husband Felix, all of Santa Cruz; sons, Dennis, Rudy, Henry and Orlando Vialpando, all of El Llano; close niece, Rafaelita Gurule Olivas; close nephew, Richard Olivas and wife Phyllis, all of Lyden; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

ANTOINETTE RIVERA-PACHECO, 37, of Santa Fe died Sunday after a long illness.
She was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in 1985, where she was the 1984 homecoming queen. As the sales and catering manager at La Fonda, she was named the New Mexico Lodging Association's employee of the year in 1998. Her friendly and outgoing personality rewarded her with many close and enduring friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steve (Flaco) V. Rivera and father in law, E. Robert (Bobby) Pacheco.
She is survived by her husband, David G. Pacheco; mother, Josie M. Rivera; brother, Steve A. Rivera and wife Lynda; good friend, Joe Rivera of Rio Rancho and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A second visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

JIM YATES, 70, of Santa Fe died Sunday after a brief illness.
He was born in Austin. After graduating from the University of Texas as a petroleum engineer, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife had an exciting career in the oil and gas industry working for Oasis Oil in Tripoli, Libya and at Petro Mer-Trend in Jakarta, Indonesia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey E. and Thelma Yates; son, Steve; and daughter, Leslie Messa.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Aeron and her son, David of Roswell; daughter-in-law Carolyn Yates; four grandchildren; brothers, Harvey Yates Jr. and wife Jan of Albuquerque, Fred Yates and wife Roxanne and George Yates and wife Abby, all of Roswell; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The First Baptist Church, 1605 Old Pecos Trail in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Community Bible Study International, 1767 Business Center Dr., Ste. 500, Reston, VA 20190, or Casa Esperanza, New Mexico's Home Away From Home for Cancer Patients and Their Families, P. O. Box 40472, Albuquerque, NM 87196-0472.

ELIZABETH "DEE DEE" B. ARELLANO, 43, of Questa and San Cristobal died unexpectedly Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her son, Leroy Rael; and parents, Paul and Mary Arellano. She is survived by her sisters, Louise Arellano of San Cristobal, Paula Arellano and Karen Arellano of Denver; brothers, Steve Arellano of San Cristobal and David Padilla of Denver; and many other relatives and friends. LUCY BENAVIDES, 94, of Santa Fe died Monday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aban Romero and Felicita Roybal of Cuyamungue; husband, Anselmo Benavides; siblings, Jose Maria Romero, Adolfo Romero, Fedelina Hansburg, Victoria Alejandro and Isabel Cruz. She is survived by her daughter, Mary B. Garcia; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Thursday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A second visitation will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. ADAN G. "DAN" ROYBAL, 50, of Pojoaque died Monday after a short illness. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 31 years of service in the shipping and receiving department. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Pojoaque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Leonardita (Nora) Roybal; and brothers, Eddie and Horacio Roybal. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Roybal and wife Jean of Cuyamungue, David Roybal and wife Cecilia of Santa Fe, Philly Joe Roybal and Gerard Roybal, both of Nambé, Peter Roybal of Pojoaque and Lionel "Leo" Roybal and wife Monica of El Rancho; sisters, Loyola Trujillo and husband Martin and Sandra Roybal, all of Pojoaque, Mary Lou Lujan and husband Rosendo of Jaconita, Jean Gonzales of Cañoncito, Norma Vigil and husband Ernie and Melva Manzanares and husband Ruben, all of Santa Cruz, and Diane Ortiz and husband Edwin of Cuyamungue; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. ISAAC ARCHIE VIGIL, 28, of Chimayó died Sunday due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Española. His passions in life were his family and custom automobile painting, especially his 1971 Monte Carlo Low Rider. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Vigil. He is survived by his wife, Louella; sons, Matthew, Archie, and Derrick Vigil of the family home; parents, Archie and Patsy Vigil of La Puebla; brother, Patrick Vigil of La Puebla and girlfriend Sabrina Mondragon; close friends, Ruben and Esmeralda Vialpando of Chama; and many other relatives and friends. He was born in Tierra Amarilla. He married Anita Salazar. He was a member of the VFW and a veteran of World War II, where he fought in the Pacific. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, Gonzalo and Tonita Valdez; brothers, Jose Inez and Victor; and sister, Maria de La Luz. He is survived by his daughter, Pat Cordova and husband Steve; son, Nick Jr. and wife Angie; daughter, Toni Quintana and husband Robert; daughter, Martha Jiron and husband Mannie; brother, Ted Valdez; seven grandchildren; special niece, Paula Martinez; special nephews: Vincent and Matthew Martinez; and many other relatives and friends.
