ABE ALIRE, 34, of Ojo Caliente died unexpectedly Friday as a result of an auto accident.
He was born in Torrington, Wyo. He was raised and graduated high school in Center, Colo., before continuing on with his college education.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Alire; daughters, Cynthia, Ashlee and Alisha; parents, Joe and Alice Alire of Center, Colo.; brothers and sisters, Samuel Arnold Alire and wife Lorie of Iowa, Joe Alire and wife Lupe, Donna Garcia and husband Ruben, Lorraine Alire, Darlene Ocana and husband Tony, Ronald Alire and wife Anita and Alice Alire, all of Colorado, and Donald Alire and wife Margaret of Ojo Caliente; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at San Juan Nepomoceno Catholic Church in El Rito with burial to follow at Placitas Cemetery.

GABRIEL ABEYTA, 40, of Chimayó died Friday after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tony T. Abeyta; and brothers, Anthony Abeyta Jr. and Arnold Abeyta.
He is survived by his mother, Eulalia M. Abeyta; sons, Andrew and Sebastian Abeyta, all of Chimayó; stepson, Matthew Romero of Albuquerque; mother of his children, Beverly Romero of Albuquerque; brothers, Jerry Abeyta and wife Barbara and Ricky Abeyta, all of Chimayó, Sam Abeyta and wife Donna K. of Española; sisters, Dora Abeyta and husband Carlos Montez of Chimayó and Sandra Mae Abeyta of Santa Fe; half-brother, Ben Abeyta and wife Joy of Albuquerque; half-sisters, Mary Lucero and husband Auggie of Placitas, Connie Sanchez of Bernalillo and Pita Abeyta of La Puebla; and many other relatives and friends.

HAROLD E. BROCK, 74, of Española died Friday.
He was born in Stafford, Kan. He attended the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship and graduated in 1952. He was a national champion debater and won many awards for UNM. He was proud to be a Lobo and was a season ticket holder. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was in the car business for over 40 years. In 1969 he opened Harold Brock Chevrolet in Española. He sold the dealership in 1982 and was the fleet manager for Rio Valley Ford. He was active in the Española community as past McCurdy School Board president and booster, a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Española Chamber of Commerce who named him "Man of the Year", and a supporter of the 4-H program. He was an accomplished orator, often being asked to be the Master of Ceremonies at many local events. In addition, he was a "Grill Master Extraordinaire'" an aircraft pilot, an avid boater, water skier and deep-sea fisherman. He and his wife were fortunate to have explored the world on cruise ships.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Steven Lewis Brock; parents, Bryan and Hazel Brock; and brothers, Lou and Bryan Brock.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Brock of Española; daughters, Janis Brock of Rio Rancho and Sharon Redman and husband David; son, Bryan Brock and fiancée, all of the Española Valley; five grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Ingmire of Indiana; brother, Rex Brock of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a burial to follow at 3 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

CESAR B. CORDOVA, 22, of Rodarte died unexpectedly Thursday.
He is survived by his mother, Lucille Cordova of Rodarte; stepfather, Fred Roybal; and stepmother, Lelia Roybal, both of Taos; brother, Gabriel Roybal of Taos; girlfriend, Gloria Fernandez of El Rancho; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial will take place in Grants Community Cemetery in Grants. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a memorial fund set up at Valley National Bank.

SAMMY CORDOVA JR., 34, of Gallina died Tuesday after a long illness.
He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his A.T.V., playing video and Playstation games and entertaining friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Sr. and Manuelita Cordova; and brothers, Mardo, Herman and Gilbert Cordova.
He is survived by his brothers, Daniel Cordova and wife Tina of Mora and Bobby Cordova and wife Nellie of Farmington; sisters, Nancy Livingston and husband Johnny of Farmington, Emma Cordova and companion Adolfo Serna of Taos, Bernadette Cordova and companion Benicio Gonzales of Gallina and Gloria Martinez and husband Rick of Aztec; half-brothers and sisters, Joe Cordova and wife Shirley, Alfonso Cordova and wife Eufelia, Onofre Sanchez, Victoria Lovato and husband Reynaldo, all of Gallina, Joseph Martinez of Española and Mary Madrid and companion Tony of Grants; and many other relatives and friends.

RAMON GALLEGOS, 73, of Cerro died Thursday.
He was a former resident of Pueblo.
He is survived by his children, Gloria Ningen and husband Jim Roberts, Nancy Garrison and husband Andy and Jim Gallegos; four grandchildren; sisters, Genoveva Gallegos and husband Antonio and Mary Montano and husband Julian; and many other relatives.
A rosary was recited Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Costilla.
Mass be celebrated at noon today at Sacred Heart Church with burial to follow at Amalia Community Cemetery.

CLEOTILDE "CLEO" HERRERA, 96, of Ledoux died Sunday.
She was born and married in Ledoux. She enjoyed working on the ranch and making trips to town. She loved sewing, canning, cooking, baking and visiting with friends at their homes and at the Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. She was a loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilia Salazar and Salomon Trujillo Sr.; brothers, Adolfo, Samuel and Ernesto Trujillo; sisters, Manuelita Vigil, Cleotildita Trujillo and Clorinda Fresquez; husband, Ernesto Herrera Sr.,; son, Ernesto Herrera Jr., two grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Corine Lucero of Ledoux, Senaida Gallegos and husband Joe of Santa Fe, Annabel Romero and husband Rudy of El Carmen; 10 grandchildren; sister, Sofia Fresquez of Albuquerque; brothers, Frutoso Trujillo and wife Rosabel of Santa Fe, Salomon Trujillo and wife Theresa of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the Rogers Chapel. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Mora Cemetery.
