MARTIN ZAMARRON, 79, of Velarde died Tuesday in Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife, Josefina; sons, Javier Zamarron and wife Sylvia and Luis Zamarron and wife Clara, all of Chamita, Arnulfo Zamarron and wife Lisa of Española and Victor Zamarron of Velarde; daughters, Fabiola Zamarron of Velarde, Anna Luz and husband Monico and Alba Gutierrez and husband Carlos, all of Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and many other relatives. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow at Chamita Cemetery. GENEVIEVE M. LEACH, 87, died on June 26.
She was born in Houston. She relocated to Santa Fe in 1934, where she married Steven J. Leach in 1935. They had two sons, Steven James Jr. and Cyril John. She started her lifelong career as a Realtor in Midland, Texas, while her husband worked in the oil business. They returned to Santa Fe in 1966, and Genevieve opened her doors in the real estate community. She owned and operated the Leach Company for some 30 years. She was extremely involved in civic affairs, which included the Santa Fe Board of Realtors, the Chamber of Commerce, Fiesta Council, Board of Economic Development, Metropolitan Water Board and the Taste of Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons. She is survived by her brother, John McShaffry and his wife Dorothy of Albuquerque; two nephews; one niece; and several grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins. Her extended family encompassed Sonny and Lorraine Otero and family, Elise Sargent and family, Wally and LouAnne Sargent, and Caroline Dewey and her daughter, Andrea Dewey. A private service was held June 29 with burial at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens. THOMAS "TOMMY" MASCARENAS, 40, died on Monday. He was born to Joe L. and Flora S. Mascarenas in Santa Fe on Jan. 2, 1964. Tommy was a carpenter and nature lover, and was known to many as "The Good Neighbor." He was a man of many interests. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eduardo and Tonita Mascarenas of Penasco, and Elizardo and Sarita Sanchez of Ojo Sarco. He is survived by his parents; son, Tommy Ray Mascarenas; mother of his son, Melissa Mascarenas; son's fiancé, Lara Bertola; daughter, Nicole Sandoval; sister, Amy Boydston and husband Tom; brothers, David "DJ" Mascarenas, Joseph E. Mascarenas and wife Jackie; two great-nephews; and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel, with a rosary to follow. SADIE MORFIN, 60, of Chili, and formerly of Cortez, Colo., died at home on Tuesday, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Medardo and Francisquita Gonzales; brother, Mariano Gonzales; sisters, Beneranda Martinez and Mary Madrid; daughter, Pauline Morfin; and stepson, Melvin Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Tom Morfin of Cortez, Colo.; children, Manuel Morfin of Santa Fe, Sheila Castillo and companion Leopoldo Carrasco of Cortez, Colo., Kia Whiteskunk of Cortez, Colo.; sisters, Margie Mondragon and husband Rudy of Española, and Leonires Chavez of Chili; brother, Walter Gonzales and companion Dolores Herrera of Española; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at 6 tonight in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. REGINA QUINTANA, 54, of Santa Fe, died Friday. She was born in Quemado on Jan. 4, 1950, the daughter of Rey and Mary Baca. She was a medical assistant for St. Vincent Hospital from 1986 to 2004. She was preceded in death by her father, Rey Baca. She is survived by her son, Joseph Quintana; mother, Mary Baca; sisters: Evelyn Brown and Lola Baca; brothers, Edwin and Gilbert Baca; two grandchildren; a puppy, and numerous other friends and co-workers. IGNACITA "AGNES" L. AGUIRRE, 72, of Ensenada died Sunday after a short illness.
She loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers. She loved to dance and enjoyed music. She was a very good cook and her favorite dish was chili. Her family came first and she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Crestino and Matilde Lobato; and son, Begnino Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Benito Aquirre of Ensenada; children, Eddie Martinez and wife, Ersie, of Ranchitos; Robert Martinez of Española; Gloria Martinez, and Chris Martinez and wife, Laverne, all of Ensenada; Barbara Martinez of Chimayó, Pauline Bustos of Hernandez, Roseann Gallegos and husband, Larry, of Santa Cruz and Yvonne Baca and husband, Dominic, of Albuquerque; 22 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santo Niño Catholic Church in Tierra Amarilla with burial to follow at the family plot in Ensenada.

MALAQUIAS LUJAN, 89, of Santa Fe died Saturday
He was affectionately known as "Uncle Mike." He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years and was well known and loved by many in the community. He was a member of the Saint Francis Cathedral Parish, served as a minister of hospitality for many years and was a member of the Union Protectiva.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Trejo Lujan; parents, Francisco Lujan and Teodorita Sandoval de Lujan; sisters, Delfina Quintana, Catalina Montoya, Agneda Lujan, Alfonsita Lujan, Maria D. Lujan, Celina Sikes, Antonia Gabaldon and Josephine Fairchild; and brothers, Benedito, Pedro, Dominico and Alfredo Lujan.
He is survived by his sons, Mike and wife Judy, Larry and wife Mary Alice and Joseph Lujan; eight grandchildren; a special great-grandson, Christopher Gutierrez; special niece, Viola Bloss and many other relatives and friends. A visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Saint Francis Cathedral. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

DICKIE M. ORTEGA, 32, of Chimayó died unexpectedly Friday.
He loved the outdoors. He was a kind and generous person. He loved his family, especially his brothers and sister.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe A. Ortega.
He is survived by his mother, Cordelia Martinez and husband Antonio of Santa Fe; brothers and sister, Joe E. Ortega and Andy Ortega, both of Chimayó and Delilah Brown of Chamita; son, Estefan Ortega of Fairview; and many other relatives and friends. A public visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a devotional service at 7 p.m. today at New Hope Church in Arroyo Seco. A funeral service will be held on at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Baptist Cemetery in Chimayó.

JEMELLE S. (JAMIE) PADILLA died Thursday.
Since her retirement from the Department of Energy, she had been very active in her community serving on boards and associations. She was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed snowmobiling, water skiing and hunting.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Padilla of Rutheron; mother, Elaine McKim; brother, Michael Medina and wife, Naomi, of Sacramento, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Padilla family home and at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall, 4020 Lomas Blvd., NE in Albuquerque.
