ANDREW DAVID SISNEROS, 21, of Chamita died Monday after an automobile accident.
He was a lifelong member of the community of Chamita. He was an electrician and belonged to the Chamita Fire Department. He loved hunting, fishing and mud bogging. He loved his family very much and being with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, Alex Jr. and Carol Sisneros of Chamita; sisters, Amanda Sisneros and companion Larry Martinez of Chimayó and Alexis Sisneros; brother, Alex M. Sisneros, both of Chamita; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Chamita.

FRANK JOSHUA LOVATO, 18, of Taos died Tuesday. He was a student at the Chryslis Alternative School.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Sylvia Lovato; brothers, Lorenzo Sanchez and Reyes Lovato; and sisters, Adriana Pacheco and Monique Pacheco; girlfriend, Ashley Suazo; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial fund has been set up for Frank J. Lovato at Centinel Bank, 512 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos, N.M., 87571. (505) 758-6700. ELISEO "ELI" J. LUCERO SR., 83, of the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Albuquerque died after a long illness. He served in the World War II Army Special Engineers, 38th Regiment. He lived in Indiana for 45 years and after retiring moved to Santa Fe. He belonged to the Church of San Isidro and was a member of the Disabled Americans, the League of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Boys Town. He was a volunteer at St. John's Soup Kitchen and led the prayer before meals. He is survived by his wife, Evangeline "Eva" S. Lucero; son, Eli J. Lucero of Albuquerque; daughters, Mary E. Wanless of Tyler, Texas, Geraldine "Gerry" R. Wayman of Gas City, Ind., Arlene L. Huron of Converse, Ind., Ruth F. Tate of Anderson, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas "Tom" Lucero and Joe Lucero; and many other relatives. A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at San Isidro Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. JOE "MINGO" ALARCON, 69, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday at Northeastern Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., and married Lucille Flores in 1960. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War as a sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. He retired in 1997 from the Las Vegas Medical Center, where he was employed as security supervisor for 14 years. He was formerly employed with the U.S. Postal Service, the Las Vegas police as a patrolman and investigator and the New Mexico Highlands University police. He loved camping, fishing, dancing and being with his grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Alarcon and Margarita Quintana Alarcon. He is survived by his wife, Lucille J. Alarcon of the family home in Las Vegas, N.M.; sons, Joe Raymond Alarcon and wife Germaine and Lalo E. Alarcon and wife Dawn, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; four grandchildren; sister, Stella Ortiz and husband Willie of Montezuma; brothers, Ruben Alarcon, Lalo M. Alarcon, Bobby Alarcon and wife Rita, Timo Valerio, Louie Valerio and wife Della, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held all day today at the Rogers Chapel until the time of rosary. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. BEATRICE M. STEHLING DROPESKY, 77, of Los Alamos died Wednesday after a long illness. She was born in Fredericksburg, Texas, and attended St. Mary's Elementary and St. Mary's High School, graduating in 1944. She joined the Army Nurse Corps, then studied nursing at Santa Rosa School of Nursing and Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas, receiving her degree in 1947 and also winning the title of Miss San Antonio. She was married, moved to New York state and then moved to Los Alamos in 1953. She returned to nursing, after her children were grown, at the Los Alamos Medical Center, working in the recovery room, then in the offices of doctors Honsinger and Wadstrom. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and served as president of the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved camping out, water skiing and sailing with family and friends at local lakes. She was an active hiker for several years with the Wednesday women's group. She enjoyed traveling and sightseeing the world over, and ballroom dancing at big band dances with her husband in and around Los Alamos. She was one of the Hot Box dancers in an early LA Light Opera production of "Guys and Dolls." She was preceded in death by her parents, Benno and Eleanor Stehling. She is survived by her husband, Bruce J. Dropesky; son, Bruce Phillip Dropesky of Salt Lake City; daughter, Elaine Hausman and husband Rob Hausman of Cerrillos; two grandchildren; sister, Catherine Ryan of San Antonio, Texas; and brother, Daniel Stehling and wife Margery of Hot Springs Village, Ark. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with burial to follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. WALTER ROBB KEGEL, 79, of Santa Fe died Wednesday after a long illness. He was born in Albuquerque. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1941 and went on to attend the University of Missouri at Columbia, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism and a law degree in 1947. He returned to New Mexico, where he was elected to serve as district attorney for two terms, beginning in the late 1950s. He served for several years as assistant attorney general. He practiced law in northern New Mexico for almost 50 years, during which time he received awards for his service to the elderly and the poor. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Martinez-Kegel, children, Jay Kegel and wife Kathy, Robert Kegel, David Kegel and wife Darlene, Margaret Kegel and Kathy Kegel; stepson, Bob Lovato; 10 grandchildren; friends, Ozzie Reeves, Tony With and Rollie Nehring; and many other relatives and friends. Donations may be made in his memory to Las Rios Home Hospice, P.O. Box 2192, Española, N.M., 87532. TONY "T.J." CHAVEZ, a lifetime resident of Santa Fe, died Wednesday.
He was a graduate of the Santa Fe High School class of 1949. He was a decorated veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart who proudly served his country as a combat medic in the Korean War. Many years ago, Mayor Larry Delgado gave him the nickname "Slim." He was actively involved in his grandchildren's lives and never missed an opportunity to attend their school and sporting events. He will also be remembered as "Coach." He loved the game of baseball and coached both Little League and Babe Ruth teams for many years. After a 32-year distinguished career, he retired from the state as deputy secretary of the Motor Transportation Department under Gov. Bruce King's administration. Following retirement, he was dedicated to a daily exercise routine at the Santa Fe Spa and a meal at his favorite hangout, PC's Restaurant, which is owned by his niece Pricilla Chavez Ulibarri. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Molly Griego Chavez; children, Jeff Chavez, Ronnie Chavez and wife Angela Chavez, Patricia Chavez-Rodriguez and husband David Rodriguez, and Pamela Chavez and partner George Martinez; all of Santa Fe; sister, Mercedes Peralta of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be sent to the Santa Fe Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels program. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. NICK SANCHEZ, 19, of Santa Fe, died suddenly Monday. He was employed as a correctional officer at the Adult Detention Center. He was an avid hunter, junior hunter instructor and AAU wrestling champion (1999-2000). He is survived by his parents, Johanna and Robert Sanchez; brother, Patrick Sanchez; best friend, Danny Ray Campos; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Church. JAMES ANTHONY ZOLLER, 77, of La Puebla died April 22. He was born in Cincinnati to Augustine and Carrie Zoller. He was married to Marjorie Ann Schwartz in Cincinnati in 1948. He served in the military from 1946 to 1949. The Zollers moved to Española in 1954. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 24 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Marge Zoller of La Puebla; children, Jim and Janice Zoller of Arroyo Seco, Donald Zoller and Linda and Orlando Ortiz, all of La Mesilla, Susan and Gary Veale of La Puebla, Marjie Thibodeaux of Española, Kathy Luna of Denver, David and Lee Ann Zoller of El Paso, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives. A Mass was celebrated on April 27 at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church. 473-6179.

MILDRED LOUISE CLOUTHIER DE LONG, 82, of Santa Fe died Wednesday. She was born in Springer.
She had a passion for bowling and participated in numerous bowling leagues throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. De Long.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Fitzpatrick Green and husband Richard of Red River, and Leslie De Long and husband Robert Bastik of Grants; sister, Helen McBee and husband Orville of Aztec; and many other relatives and friends.
At her request, no service will be held.

DAVID ESQUIBEL, 37, of Peñasco died Sunday.
He was a happy man who loved his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Anjolee, Veronica and Cassandra Esquibel; one grandson; mother, Mary Lou Tafoya; father, Gaspar Esquibel; brother, Daniel Esquibel and wife Patricia; sister, Melissa Esquibel; and many other relatives.
