VALERIE POMPEO, 50, of Santa Fe died Wednesday.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Pompeo.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at The First Baptist Church, 1605 Old Pecos Trail. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valerie Pompeo Memorial Fund at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society, 1920 Cerrillos Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87505.

DOLORES T. STRUCK, 71, of Ranchos de Taos died Friday. She was preceded in death by her father, Meliton M. Trujillo, sister, Prescilla Trujillo.
She is survived by her husband, Bernabe Struck; mother, Elena M. Truillo; children, Albert Struck and wife, Doris; Frank Struck, all of Ranchos de Taos, Orlinda Struck of Albuquerque, Bernadette Chavez and husband, James, of Stanley; Marcella Miera and husband, Jessie; Bernabe Struck Jr., all of Ranchos de Taos and Robert Gatlin and wife, Barbie, of Albuquerque; sister, Aurora Vigil and husband, Edmundo; brothers, Eloy Trujillo and wife, Irene, of Santa Fe, Meliton Trujillo Jr. and wife, Louise, Steve Trujillo and wife, Diana, David Trujillo and Jacobo Trujillo, all of Taos, 14 grandchildren;
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at San Francisco Cemetery. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, (505) 758-3841.

RALPH ISAAC TRUJILLO, 60, of Albuquerque died Wednesday after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Joe Ann; children, Ralph Jr. and Antonette of Albuquerque; mother, Antonette Heynar and husband, George Heynar, of San Diego; father, Ralph Trujillo of Denver; sister, Toni Lincoln; brother, Mike Heynar of San Diego; special uncles, Mike and Milton Rodriquez; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Bernardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

WILLMONT VERMILLION, 88, of Santa Clara Pueblo died Wednesday.
Better known as Bill, he was born in Baker City, Ore. He was the second child of Lynn VanDyke and Grace Barbara Vermillion. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1938. He was employed by Standard Oil Co., entered the U.S. Navy in 1942, was appointed to the First Midshipman Class at the University of Notre Dame and was commissioned an officer that year. He served four years during World War II in the South Pacific on minesweepers before the landing of troops on the beaches could be made— minesweepers were at the landing site usually for five days of operation, but at Borneo for 17 days of operation. Sweepers were lost to mines, shore fire, aircraft and mechanical breakdown.
A naval reservist, he was called to active duty at the beginning of the Korean War. He served 15 months in Korean waters as executive officer aboard the frigate U.S.S. Newport.
In 1953 in Seattle, he met and married his wife, Lt. Lorencita Naranjo, a Navy nurse. They both had duty at the headquarters of the 13th Naval District. He was again discharged in 1954 but continued his Navy career in various reserve programs and in 1957 he was promoted to commander. After nearly 27 years of service he was transferred to the Retired Reserves on July 1, 1969.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorencita N. Naranjo-Vermillion.
He is survived by his son, Jerry; one granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Mount Calvary Chapel at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Española. Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Santa Clara Catholic Church at Santa Clara Pueblo with burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. with U.S. military honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

FLORENCE BEATRICE GALLEGOS, 68, of Chamita died Saturday after a long illness. Her greatest passion was caring for her variety of beautiful roses and flowers. She loved the hummingbirds that would flock to her front porch at the onset of spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe G. and Lillian B. Maestas; and brothers, Rudy and Georgito Maestas.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob D. Gallegos; daughters, Lucia Veronica Lopez and husband Victor and Julie Ann Garcia and husband Vidal; sisters, Teresita Martinez, Lillian Gurule, Bernadette Archuleta, Dora Valdez and Patricia Lopez; brothers, George Maestas and Milton Maestas; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Private burial will take place at a later date.

TRINIDAD HERRERA, 82, of Nambé died Sunday in Colorado Springs.
Visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Chapel. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambé. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

BONNIE L. MARRIOTT, 75, of White Rock died Saturday after a brief illness.
She was born in 1928, the daughter of Don and Lillian Shelton Lebow. She was married in Tucumcari in 1946. She was an employee of the Los Alamos National Laboratories where she retired after 28 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Los Alamos Heart Council. She loved to participate in activities at the White Rock Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Landis L. Marriott.
She is survived by her son, Scott W. Marriott; daughters, Judy B. Marriott, Lisa D. Marsh and husband Brad; four grandsons; special niece, Jan Finch; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Los Alamos Heart Council, P.O. Box 749, Los Alamos, NM 87544.
Visitation will be held at 7 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Los Alamos.

JAMES ERNEST COLENSO, 86, of Santa Fe died April 29.
He was born in Newberry, Mich. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in journalism. In World War II, he served as captain at a U.S. Army hospital in France. He had a successful career in the publishing industry, culminating as an international sales executive. He was well-traveled nationally and internationally. He served on the board of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation and the Audubon Society of Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Esther Colenso; first wife, Kathren Fedeczko and son, Robert Colenso. He is survived by his wife, Lois Colenso; sister, Margaret Benson of Clearwater, Fla.; children, Fran Sammis of Downers Grove, Ill., James H. Colenso, Bonnie Postovit of LaGrande, Ore., Barbara Holland of Woodridge, Ill.; stepchildren, Lauren Bauer of Austin, Texas, and Eric Bauer of Downers Grove, Ill.; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe, followed by a reception. Burial will take place in Illinois. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, 130 Prospect St., Cambridge, Mass., 02139 or the Brookfield Zoo, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield, Ill., 60513.
