ANDRONICA GONZALES, 13, of Peñasco died Sunday. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen Esquibel. She is survived by her father, Elroy Gonzales of Peñasco; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the same church with burial to follow at the Adromico Roybal Family Cemetery. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, (505) 758-3841.

ISMAEL J. MARTINEZ, 87, of Arroyo Seco died Tuesday. He is survived by his sister, Julia Gonzales and husband Juan A. of Des Montes, and four nieces. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco. MANUEL TRUJILLO, 78, of Nambé died suddenly Monday. He was a member of the carpenters union for many years. He served in World War II and the Korean conflict. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Manuelita Trujillo; brothers, Levi, Evaristo, Henry, George and Alfonso and sister, Ida Trujillo. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Trujillo of Nambé; sons, Robert D. Trujillo Sr. and wife Janet of Nambé and Gerald Trujillo of Pojoaque; daughter, Ida Viarreal and husband Kenneth of Española; seven grandchildren; brothers, Noe Trujillo and Alfredo Trujillo and wife Susie, all of Pojoaque, and Jim Trujillo and wife Paula of Santa Fe; sister, Yolanda and husband Carl Brown of Pojoaque; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home in Española. A second rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. TRINIDAD HERRERA, 82, of Nambé died Sunday in Colorado Springs.
He was born in 1921 in Nambé, the son of Frutoso and Esther Herrera. He was a lifetime carpenter with a 50-year union membership, family farmer, Mayordomo de Acequia de Llano and a proud veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his brother, Agapito; first wife, Marcelita; second wife, Dolores and son, Judge Steve Herrera. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Lucero and husband David; seven grandchildren; stepsons, John Benavidez and wife Lupe and Terry Jain and husband Brad; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Judge Steve Herrera Memorial Scholarship through the New Mexico Community Foundation, 343 East Alameda, Santa Fe, N.M., 87501. A visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambé. DOROTHY MARTIN LAGNEAUX, 80, of Lafayette, La., died Friday. A native of Rum Gully, S.C., Dot, as she was known to most, had been a resident of rural Lafayette Parish since 1945. She was co-owner and operator of Lagneaux's Grocery Store until 1963 and very much enjoyed the customers. She was also employed by the Lafayette Parish School Board, Beall's Department Store and, until her retirement in 1996, was a dock supervisor at Maison Blanche. She was an avid reader and loved working crossword puzzles. She marveled at the natural beauty around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nellie Martin; brothers: Willlie, Cephus, Ruben, Richard and Dorrell Martin; and sisters, Marie, Rosella, Mamilee and Ruth. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Emery and husband Leslie and Sue Meunier and husband Harold; sons, Robert Lagneaux and wife Betty and Gerald Lagneaux and wife Debbie; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fountain Memorial Chapel in Lafayette, La. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service in Santa Fe and Fountain Memorial Funeral Home, Lafayette, La.

FIDEL TAPIA, 89, of Santa Fe died Monday. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and was an avid woodcarver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo and Pablita Tapia; brothers, Benny, Felipe and George Tapia; and sister Flora Sandoval. He is survived by his wife, Isabel; daughters, Olivia Benta, Dolores Romero and husband Joe, and Corrine Hellmer and husband Gary; sons, Diego Tapia and wife Alice, and Fred Tapia and wife Vanessa; brother, Adelido Tapia; sister, Clorinda Orosco; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives. A visitation will be held at 4 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. MARIA "NEA" LUCERO, 102, of Santa Fe died Tuesday.
She was born to Fred and Cristina Mignardot in Peña Blanca. She was known for her beautiful needlework. She is survived by her son, C.F. Lucero and wife Teresina; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives. A visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel. JOAQUIN C. MONTOYA, 84, of Santa Fe died Tuesday. He was a hard-working man who loved the La Cienega land where he planted his garden and shared his crops with everyone. He is survived by his wife, Lourdes Montoya; siblings, Pete Montoya and Jesse Montoya; children, Jake Montoya Jr., Joe Montoya, Sam Montoya, Rosella Hinojoza, Diana Montoya, Anna Mae Garcia and Liz Ashbaugh; 27 grandchildren; and many other relatives. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the same church with burial to follow at San Jose Church Cemetery. SAMUEL A. ARCHULETA, 62, of Española died Wednesday. He was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather.
He had a profound love of nature and the mountains. He enjoyed fishing. He retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a lithographer. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Archuleta. He is survived by his mother, Lena Archuleta; wife, Viola G. Archuleta; children, Thaddea Bergen-Monteaux and husband Michel, Michael Y. Archuleta and wife Renee and Joseph Archuleta; four grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Calkins and husband Noel, and Cindy Archuleta; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be announced. AGAPITO "PETE" MARTINEZ, 85, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday at Northeastern Regional Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in San Agustine to the late Gregorio Martinez and Teofila Blea Martinez. He was married at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in 1945 to Trinidad Tapia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the American Service Medal and the European, African and Middle Eastern Service Medals, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a veteran of the Normandy invasion and Battle of the Bulge, and served in the occupational forces of Japan. His military occupational specialties were coast artillery basic training and cook. He served 24 months in the United States, England, France, Belguim, Holland and Germany. He participated in four major campaigns against the Germans as a member of the 1st and 3rd armies. He served in the Las Vegas National Guard for 10 years. He was a member of the VFW & DAV. He was a self-employed cook and owner and operator of La Paz Café in Las Vegas, N.M. He also cooked for many years at New Mexico Highlands University. He loved to fish, pick piñon and garden. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, of La Sociedad De San Jose and the Legion of Mary. He served as eucharist minister at Our Lady of Sorrows and studied to become a deacon. He served as lay director and cursillo proper of the Cursillo Leader School and served as rector for three different Cursillos. He was a former member of Santo Niño and Our Lady of the Rosary choirs. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Martinez; and sister, Aurora Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Trinidad E. Martinez of the family home in Las Vegas, N.M.; sons and daughters, Edward Martinez and wife Christine of Clovis, Archie Martinez and wife Josette, Pete "Cannon" Martinez Jr., Marie Benavidez and husband Daniel, Darlene Martinez and partner Leon Herrera and Angelo Martinez, all of Las Vegas, N.M., Pricilla Lowe and partner David Loveland of Santa Fe, and Rob Lowe of Minot, N.D.; 15 grandchildren; sister, Clara Salazar of Walsenburg, Colo.; close friends, Ray and Evelyn Cordova of Rainsville; and many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. TRACY CATHERINE WEBER, 41, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday following an automobile accident. She was born in Whittier, Calif. She enjoyed horseback riding in the New Mexico setting of mountains, forests and rivers. She loved to be surrounded by people and always showed compassion and generosity to those she met. She was a natural with children who gravitated toward her outgoing and friendly personality. By trade, she was a skilled weaver. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Weber and son, Jarret Lee. She is survived by her father, Arthur Weber of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister, Veronica Weber of Redding, Calif.; brother and wife, Vincent and Roxanne Weber of Santa Clara, Calif.; sister, Patricia and Luis Duenas of Los Angeles; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Mel's Catholic Church in Eagle Nest with burial to follow at Elizabethtown Cemetery in Eagle Nest. Nelson Funeral Home, (505) 425-6551.

IRENE CHAVEZ, 76, of Wagon Mound died Wednesday after an extended illness.
She was born in Wagon Mound to the late Tranquillino Chavez and Maria Christina Armijo Chavez.
She retired from the New Mexico State Hospital where she was employed as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Senior Olympics and was a senior companion. She loved sewing, gardening, playing bingo, gambling and quilting. She had quilts at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Frank Mora Jr. and Juanito Mora; daughter, Joanna Mora; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, John Apodaca and special friend Anita of Wagon Mound, Ernest Peralta and wife Bernice of Roswell, Mabel Montoya and Benny and Patricia Martinez and husband Anselmo, all of Wagon Mound; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation begins 10 a.m. Monday at the Rogers Chapel at the Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday and 7 p.m. Tuesday at the same chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
