REGINA QUINTANA, 54, of Santa Fe, died Friday. She was born in Quemado on Jan. 4, 1950, the daughter of Rey and Mary Baca. She was a medical assistant for St. Vincent Hospital from 1986 to 2004. She was preceded in death by her father, Rey Baca. She is survived by her son, Joseph Quintana; mother, Mary Baca; sisters: Evelyn Brown and Lola Baca; brothers, Edwin and Gilbert Baca; two grandchildren; a puppy, and numerous other friends and co-workers. GERALD ARELLANO, 38, of Chamisal died unexpectedly on July 4. He was preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Ann Roybal.

RICHARD E. DEWITTE, 53, of Santa Fe died Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Holland, Mich., to Egbert and Ruth DeWitte. He married Linda DeWitte in Orlando, Fla., in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was employed as a sea captain for the Merchant Marines. PANCRACIO B. ROMERO, 91, of Llano Quemado died Thursday. He was made a partner in Pioneer Investment in 1947. He was Taos County treasurer from 1948-1952 and superintendent of Taos schools from 1952-1960. He was a member of the Taos County Municipal Schools Board and a member of SPMDTU. BOLIVAR "BOBBY MOON" ZAMORA, 53, of El Curucco died Tuesday. He was a former resident of Santa Fe. He was born in Peñasco to Patricio Sanchez and Tonita Zamora. He was married in 1989 in Santa Fe to Diana Lovato. He was employed as a cement mason at Zamora Masonary for the past 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially with his granddaughter, special uncle Leonard and special nephew James "Kak". He enjoyed fishing. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephews. ERIC LAWRENCE FERNS, 31, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday in an automobile accident.
He was born in Santa Fe, the son of Lawrence and Isabel Ferns. His passion was his music. He composed his own music and played on a beautiful classical guitar. His outlook on life was based on family and love. He had an infectious smile that could soften the hardest soul. He exemplified the virtues of merciful love and patience, as shown in his career as a certified nurses assistant for the elderly.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Brian Ferns; sisters, Elaine Lopez and husband, Robert, and Amy Ferns; close friend, Belinda Lygen; and many other relatives and friends.

RALPH LEE, 89, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
He was born in Temple, Okla. He graduated in 1939 with a degree in civil engineering. He was married in 1940 in Oklahoma City. Always interested in aviation, he moved his young family to Texas in 1942 to begin his career planning civilian airport construction for the CAA, now the FAA. In 1956, the family moved to Alamogordo where he applied his planning skills to the support of the federal government at Holloman Air Force Base. When he retired in 1969, he began a new career as a painter and sculptor. Many of his metal sculptures were constructed from items he found along abandoned railroad beds in Otero County. He often took his grandson with him on these excursions, creating many precious memories for them both. In 1982, he and his wife moved to Santa Fe, where they both served as docents at the Palace of the Governors. He had a wonderful energy and zest for life, especially art, music from the "Big Band" era and the native flora and fauna of New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna Dale Lee; son, R. David Lee of Houston; daughter Patricia and husband Art Houchins of Santa Fe; and one grandson.

LENA (ADELINA) MARTINEZ, 83, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
She retired from the state of New Mexico in 1982. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary Post in Santa Fe and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a foster grandparent at the senior center in Santa Fe and a member of St. Anne's Catholic Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aniceto Martinez; sons, Leroy Martinez Sr. and Joseph Martinez; brother, Patrick Lucero; and parents, Luciano and Felomena Baca Lucero.
