MARGARET C. RUBIO, 73, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday at University of New Mexico Hospital. She was born in Albuquerque. She received her bachelor's degree at St. Joseph's College in Albuquerque. She began her teaching career at Barcelona Elementary School and San Felipe School, both in Albuquerque. She taught at the North and South public schools and spent the rest of her career at Legion Park Elementary School in Las Vegas, N.M., until her retirement. She was a member of the Northeastern Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the Alta Vista Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Candelaria and brother, Nick Candelaria. She is survived by her husband, Dan Rubio of the family home; daughters, Anna Marie McClellan and husband Billy of Las Cruces and Jane Rubio of Rifle, Colo.; mother, Lily Candelaria of Albuquerque; sisters, Ella Lucero of San Bruno, Calif., and Gloria Cole of Littleton, Colo.; brother, John Candelaria and wife Emily of Albuquerque; one granddaughter; and many other relatives. A visitation will be held today 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations of Las Vegas, N.M. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. ELIRIA E. GONZALES, 85, of Raton died Tuesday.
She was born in Ocate, the daughter of the late Tomas and Teresita (Rodriguez) Fernandez. She attended the senior citizens in Cimarron. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cimarron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tranquelino Gonzales; two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Archuleta and husband Henry of Raton, Stella Alaniz of Taos, Betty LeDoux of Cimarron and Linda Martinez of Santa Fe; 20 grandchildren; and many other relatives. JIM GRIFFIN, 88, of Ranchos de Taos died Tuesday. He was the former owner and operator of La Dona Luz Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Griffin. He is survived by his sons, Allen Griffin of Taos, Pat Griffin of Denver and Jack Griffin and wife Barbara of Garland, Texas; and four grandchildren. FAUSTINE TALACHY, 62, of the San Juan Pueblo died Wednesday in Española. He was born to the late Faustine and Antonia Talachy. He is survived by his wife, Leona; sons; Adam Talachy and wife Lourdes and Stacey Talachy and wife Geraldine; daughter, Monica Talachy and fiancé Nick, all of San Juan Pueblo; brothers, Andrew Talachy and wife Clara of San Juan Pueblo, Henry Talachy of Chamita and Harry Talachy of California; sisters, Viola Martinez and husband Jose C. Martinez, Jr. and Hazel of Alcalde, five grandchildren; and many other relatives. CORA ANN OLONIA TRUJILLO, 80, of Salt Lake City died suddenly Friday. She was born in Taos to Lucimado and Francisquita Trujillo Olonia. She married Abenicio "Ben" Trujillo in 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abenicio "Ben" Trujillo; son, Samuel Trujillo; one grandson; sister, Esther Trujillo; and brothers, Mike and Flavio Olonia. She is survived by her children, Joe Ben Trujillo and wife Hope and Corrine Paratore, all of Delta, Utah, Gilbert Trujillo and wife Pat of St. George, Utah, Manuel Trujillo and wife Teresa of Los Angeles, Lee Trujillo of Tillamook, Ore., and Frank Trujillo and wife Theresa of Phoenix; 21 grandchildren; brothers, Joe Olonia and wife Virginia, Manuel Olonia and wife Bennie, and Frank Olonia and wife Rose. HELEN HAEGLER WELTER, 78, of Taos died Wednesday. She was born in Roswell and raised in Cimarron at the Don Diego Hotel, currently known as the St. James Hotel. She raised her daughter in Colorado and moved to Taos in 1976. She loved gardening and was very devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Will Haegler, brother, Tom Haegler, and sister, Tonie Haegler. She is survived by her daughter, Sandi Welter; and sister, Charlotte Stewart, both of Taos; and many other relatives. Cremation has take place. Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, (505) 758-3841.

MARTHA O. BATEMAN, 86, of Santa Fe died Sunday as the result of a fall.
She was born in 1907 in Bartlesville, Indian Territory, eight days before Oklahoma became a state. She was a graduate of National Park Seminary, Washington, D.C., and the University of Oklahoma. She was a talented musician, a gifted contralto who sang on the radio and performed as a soloist in concerts and church settings. She also supported many musical organizations. Until l968, she lived in Hobbs, where she helped to found the Community Concert Association and the American Association of University Women. She served as president of Lea County General Hospital Auxiliary as well as St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary, which recently honored her for 40 years of service. She was a board member of the Santa Fe Women's Ensemble. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bateman.
She is survived by her son, Ken Bateman; daughter, Anne Bateman Noss; five grandchildren; and many other relatives.

ALIZE CHRISTOPHER JARAMILLO, 1 month, 28 days old, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday.
He is survived by his parents, Michele Cordova and Jessie Jaramillo of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister, Britney Cordova of Sheridan; close cousins, Ashley, Heather, Chantle, Dunika, Robert, Kevin, Nathan, Andres, BJ and Jada; and many other relatives and friends.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

DARLENE S. LOPEZ, 44, of Los Luceros died Wednesday after a long illness.
She was employed in Los Alamos as a housekeeper. She loved to spend time with her extended family. She enjoyed cooking and going out to dinner with her husband. She enjoyed attending Sunday services at Victory Faith Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Teodocio Dominguez; brother, Frank Dominguez; and sister, Julia Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Lopez of Los Luceros; daughter, Francine Lopez and companion Jonathan Montoya of Los Luceros; son, Christopher Lopez and companion Ashley Trujillo of Los Luceros; one granddaughter; mother, Lena Dominguez of Los Luceros; sisters, Sennie Collins and Emily Martinez, both of Las Vegas, Nev., Bernie Ortiz and companion Berlyn Salazar of Alcalde and Karen Dominguez and companion George Valdez of Chili; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Rafaelita Lopez of Los Luceros; special nieces, Jessica Ortiz and companion Mark Lopez of Alcalde and Stephanie Salazar and husband Victor of Española; and many other relatives and friends.
A devotional service will be held at 7 tonight at Victory Faith Church in Española. Devotional services will be held at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at the same church.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde.

LOUISE B. CASTELLANO, 88, of Santa Fe died Saturday of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born and raised in Santa Fe. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed politics. She was the first metermaid for the city of Santa Fe along with her longtime friend Corrine Mesa. She worked in many capacities for the state of New Mexico, retiring from the New Mexico Highway and Transportation Department in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Genevieve Benavidez; and husband, Ben Castellano.
She is survived by her son, Arthur Benavidez; daughter, Cecilia Koroneos and husband Manuel; many grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 2 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
