PEDRO VELASQUEZ , 40, of La Loma died Wednesday at Northeastern Regional Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Gallegos.
He is survived by his father, Pedro Velasquez Sr. of Santa Rosa; daughter, Frances Velasquez of Moriarty; sisters, Patricia Martinez and Rebecca Martinez, both of Gallup; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the Sagrado de Corazon Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

TED WILLIAM BENCY, 63, died Sunday at the Vista Care Sandia Hospice Pavilion in Albuquerque.
He was born in West Virginia, earned a bachelor's degree at St. Michael's College and a master's degree from New Mexico Highlands University. He attended Texas A&M, the University of Northern Colorado, Southern Oregon College and Adams State College. His first teaching position was at San Juan Pueblo Elementary School. He retired with 30 years of experience in teaching from Española Municipal Schools. He worked for the soil conservation district in the summers at the Ghost Ranch Living Museum in Abiquiu as a naturalist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Agoch and John Bency Sr.
He is survived by his wife Helen Louise; daughter, Cynthia Jean Bency-Witkin; son, Robert Bryan Bency; sisters, Anna Covington, Helen Perry and husband Mac, and Rose Demchak; grandsons, Kersen Witkin and Michael Bryan Bency; and many other relatives.
Burial will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

ELENA GONZALES of Santa Fe died Thursday.
She was a devoted homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos; and sisters, Dolores Rodriguez and Rose Garcia.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel Gonzales and wife Frances, Jerry Gonzales and wife Melody, David Gonzales, Lorenzo Gonzales and wife Dolores, and Antonio Gonzales; daughters, Ernestina Chavez and Frances Martinez; brothers, Fidel Alarid and wife Tony and Amado Alarid and wife Margie; 29 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

LOLA M. ARCHULTA, 85, of Española, died Thursday after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose I. Archuleta; mother, Juanita Martinez; father, Juan Martinez; and brothers, Ignacio Martinez, Justiniano Martinez and Horace Martinez. She is survived by her sons, Harold Archuleta and longtime companion Evangeline Martinez, LeRoy Archuleta and wife Clara, both of La Mesilla, and Floyd Archuleta and wife Naomi of Santa Cruz; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at the same church. LEO W. ARMIJO, 47, of Dixon and formerly of Ojo Sarco, died Wednesday after a long illness. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and hauling wood. He was preceded in death by his mother, Octaviana Armijo; close friend, Gene Martinez; nephew, Bruce Mascareñas; and cousin, Donald Velarde. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Armijo of Dixon; lifetime companion, Lena Sandoval of Dixon; stepsons, Joey Sandoval of Dixon, Frankie Lopez and wife Juliette of Chamisal, and Kenny Sandoval and compansion Melissa Valdez of Lyden; stepdaughters, LeeAnn Sandoval and companion Earl Martinez of Velarde, and Elaine Martinez of Chimayó; sisters, Teresa Mascareñas and husband Arturo of Dixon, Rose Montoya and husband Henry of Fort Lupton, Colo., Kate Abeyta and husband Eddie of Peñasco, Dorothy Lobato of Santa Fe and Vicky Cordova and husband Joe of Chamisal; brothers, Jose Armijo of Los Lunas and Randy Armijo of Ojo Sarco; father-in-law, Nick Lopez of Rocky Ford, Colo.,; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the San Jose de Gracias Catholic Church in Las Trampas. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the San Jose de Gracias Catholic Church in Las Trampas with burial to follow at the Ojo Sarco Catholic Cemetery. GUILLERMO "GEAR" BACA , 80, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II as a private first class and participated in battle at Eniwetock Atoll, the Marshall Islands, the battles of Guam, M.I., Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands. He was a .50 caliber machine gunner in the front lines in the invasion of Guam. He was awarded the Navy Unit Citation, the Certificate of Satisfactory Service and the Honorable Service Button. He worked for the New Mexico State Hospital in the maintenance department for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Seferina Baca; parents, Juan Baca Sr. and Frutosa Garcia Baca; sisters, Melecia Pacheco and Mary Baca; and brothers, Ben and James Baca. He is survived by his sons, Mike Baca and wife Carmen of Canoncito, John Baca and Robert Baca and wife Lebitt, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughters, Toni Baca, Loretta Sandoval and husband Leroy, and Stella Encinias and husband Gene; brother, John Baca; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. JAMES "JAMIE" LEE MARRUJO, 28, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was employed by Blackjacks Grill as a cook.
He loved golfing, video games and basketball.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joaquin Marrujo Sr.
He is survived by his grandmother who raised him, Mela Marrujo; father, Joaquin Marrujo Jr. of Española; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today at the Immacualte Conception Church, with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Rogers Mortuary, 425-3511.

DOMITILA G. "TILLIE" MARTINEZ, 92, of Taos, died Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Martinez; infant son, Frank Martinez; and parents, Carlota and Demetrio Gomez. She is survived by her daughters, Josie M. Espinoza (Joe J.) and Rufie Martinez, all of Taos; four grandchildren; sister, Ada Vargas; and brother, Bences Gomez.
A rosary will be recited on at 7 p.m. Sunday at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church.
