RUDY H. MONTOYA, 65, of Arroyo Hondo died Thursday.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe P. Montoya.
He is survived by his wife, Rubana Montoya; children, Debbie Maestas and husband Alex of Taos, Herson R. Montoya and Anthony Montoya and wife Marlene of Santa Fe, Joseph Montoya and wife Catalina of Las Colonias, Martin Montoya and wife Maria of Des Montes; and mother, Martha Montoya of Santa Fe; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Rivera Chapel. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Arroyo Hondo. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the same church. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, (505) 758-3841.

TEOFILA D. GOMEZ, 89, of Santa Fe died Monday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sixto and Constancia Duran; and brothers, Carlos, Rubel, Melaquias, Fidencio and Orlando Duran.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucille Alvarado; sons, Herman, Louie and Phil Gomez; brother, Joe G. Duran; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

ADONAISO MARTINEZ, 77, of Cordova died Saturday after a long illness.
He loved to take care of his sheep, work in his garden, and play the harmonica for his family. He worked with Los Alamos County for more than 22 years. He was married in 1946 and lived in Cordova throughout his married life. He was the caretaker of the Cordova Cemetery where he would mark all of the new graves. He was the mayordomo for the acequias for many years and a member of the board of the Community Water Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Eufracia Martinez; sons, Lito I., Lenny and Andrew Martinez; and sister, Celina Lucero.
He is survived by his wife, Clorinda T. Martinez of Cordova; daughters, Elsie Martinez and husband Jerry of El Rito, Annabelle Dominguez and husband Filiberto of Truchas, Patrisia Brunello of Santa Fe and Margie Martinez and husband Danny of Truchas; sons, Amos Martinez of Truchas, Adonaiso Martinez Jr. and wife Angie of Truchas and Roy Martinez of Cordova; grandson raised by him, Mario Martinez of Rio Rancho; niece raised by him, Sylvia Cordova; 18 grandchildren; brothers, Gerson, Soliz, Rudy and Marcos Martinez; sisters, Fedelina Montalvo, Vivian Vigil and Diolinda Martinez; and many other relatives and friends.
A service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cordova with burial to follow at Cordova Catholic Cemetery.

MELA ORTIZ, 66, of Rociada died Sunday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Gascon to the late Jose C. Rodarte and Susana Baroz Rodarte. She was married at the San Jose Church in Upper Rociada in 1958. She was a hardworking woman that enjoyed the outdoors at her home in Maestas Canyon. She was proud of her flower garden, and enjoyed her collection of dolls, bears, and angels. She was a loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Ortiz; four infant sons; father, Jose C. Rodarte; mother, Susana Baroz Rodarte; brother, Robert Rodarte; and sister, Margie Rodarte.
She is survived by her sons, Dale Ortiz and wife Shirley, Tommy Ortiz and wife JoAnn, all of Las Vegas, N.M. and Dickie Ortiz and wife Linda of Rociada; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held all day today at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A funeral service followed by cremation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the same church. Burial will take place at noon Thursday at Santo Nino Cemetery in Lower Rociada followed by a public visitation at Tommy and JoAnn Ortiz's residence, 279-A Montezuma Rt., Las Vegas, N.M.

CRISTERNA L. SALAZAR, 72, of Alcalde died Sunday after a long illness.
She was employed at the Espaņola Hospital for 26 years and 10 years at the Hacienda Nursing and Rehab. She performed private duty caring for the elderly in the Espaņola Valley and surrounding area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Salazar; daughter, Julianna Salazar; parents, Isabel and Genoveva Garcia; sister, Delfinita Garcia and brother, Eligio Garcia.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Salazar of El Llano, Bernadine Sanchez and husband Antonio, David Salazar and wife Lucy and Luis Salazar and wife Jackie, all of Alcalde, Carmen Douglas and husband Drexel of Placitas; cousin raised like a daughter, Flora Velasquez of Canones; brothers and sisters, Elipio Garcia and wife Antonia, Mizel Garcia and wife Nancy, Filimon Garcia and wife Nora, Belen Alanis and husband Alfredo, Erlinda Garcia, Theresa Chacon and husband Johnny, Alfred Garcia and Finnie Garcia and wife Theresa; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Alcalde Catholic Cemetery.

NERI TENA, 38, of Ojo Caliente died unexpectedly Sunday.
He was a wonderful husband, father, friend and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Tena; children, Melissa Martinez, Arlene Tena and Neri Tena, all of Ojo Caliente; father, Ramon and Aurora Tena of Mexico; brothers, Jaime Tena and wife Angie of Servielleta, Ramon Tena and wife Alma and Jesus Tena and wife Carmen, all of Mexico; sisters, Chela Tena and husband Rafael Garcia of Albuquerque and Mari Cordova and husband Mario of Mexico; best friends, Antonio Ramirez of Espaņola, Gerardo Diaz and wife Romelia of Abiquiu, Miguel Gutierrez and wife Lorena of Hobbs, Estevan Garcia of La Madera, Lorenzo Jaramillo and wife Ome of Servielleta, Carlos Salinas and wife Ruth of Chamita and Leopoldo Pacheco and wife Karen of Medanales; close nephews, Nelson Terrazas and James Tena, both of Ojo Caliente; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with burial to follow at Ojo Caliente Catholic Cemetery.

BOHEMIA M. VELASQUEZ, 61, of Mesa de Poleo died Friday after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Mesa de Poleo. She was married in 1956. She always had a garden and would can her vegetables and fruits. She worked for Addus Home Health Care. She made delicious calditos de carne and was always a fantastic cook. She loved to take early evening walks and take care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Velasquez; parents, Amarante and Emilia Martinez; and brothers, Samuel and Nestor Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Manuel Velasquez of Mesa de Poleo; daughters, Edith Martinez and husband Philip of Mesa de Poleo, Rosie Martinez and husband Eddie of Chimayo and Mae Trujillo and husband Alfredo of Canjilon; five grandchildren; sisters, Lucy Napoleone and husband Mike, Francis Lujan and Isabel Chavez; brother, Roger Martinez; and many other relatives and friends.
Services have taken place with burial at a private family plot in Mesa de Poleo.
