ROBERT R. LAZZELL, 91, of Chama died Monday after a long illness.
He loved working with anything that had to do with electronics. He loved to meet his friends at the local coffee shops.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ida M. and Archie E. Lazzell; brothers, Earl Lazzell and Elmer Lazzell; and sisters, Florence Millett and Leora Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Lazzell of Chama; son, Robert Allen Lazzell and wife Mary Ann of Brooksville, Fla.; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chama followed by a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Chama Community Cemetery.

JOSE H.A. PACHECO JR., 74, of San Juan Pueblo died Monday in Albuquerque after a short illness.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital for more than 30 years and retired. He then moved to San Juan Pueblo, where he resided until his recent illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose C. Pacheco; mother, Corrina Salazar; and father, Anastacio Pacheco.
He is survived by his children, Norman Pacheco, Maxine Pacheco and former husband Joe Torres and Will Pacheco; two grandchildren; brother, Andres Salazar and wife Jean Salazar; sister, Tillie Monroe and husband Bob Monroe; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Española. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan Pueblo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josefita and Ricardo Jimenez.

MARIE "MICHELE" WARD, 54, of La Madera died Saturday. She was a former resident of the Denver area. She touched many lives with her kindness, courage, fighting spirit and perseverance through numerous health issues. She was a licensed practical nurse and received a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling. She served many years at the Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in the Denver area prior to her retirement and move to La Madera. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Violet Ward. She is survived by her brothers, John and wife Amy of Hollywood, Md.; James and wife Debbie of Marysville, Wash., and Richard and wife Christine of Marietta, Ga., and Kari Mattingly and husband Tyler; and many other relatives.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at the family plot in Siam, Iowa, at a later date.

JALEN JAMES IAIN BUSTOS, 4, of Santa Cruz, died Tuesday after a short illness.

JOSE G. "TITO" MAESTAS, 88, of Española, died Monday after a long illness.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a prisoner of war for 31/2 years and was in the Bataan Death March. He was the recipient of the American Defense Service ribbon with one bronze star, Asiatic Pacific Campaign ribbon with two bronze stars, Philippine Defense ribbon with one bronze star, Good Conduct Medal, Victory ribbon and Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Tonita Maestas; sister, Eufemia Maestas; and brothers, Hilario and Ramon Maestas.
He is survived by his wife, Celsa Maestas of Española; children, Yolanda Salazar and husband Richard of Ranchitos and Tillie Maestas-Martinez of Española; four granddaughters; close cousin, Antonio Maria Maestas of Canjilon; special niece, Belen Garcia of Salt Lake City; and many other relatives and friends.

MICHAEL L. MARKHAM, 39, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday.
He was a former resident of Havre De Grace, Md. He was born in Sweetwater, Texas, to Melvin Boyd Markham and Linda Marie Wilson. He was married to Denise Crisp. He was employed by Los Alamos Medical Center as a respiratory therapist and had been an employee of John Hopkins Bay View Medical Center for seven years. He loved barbecuing and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Markham; son, Eric Patterson, both of Havre De Grace, Md.; daughters, Melody Speeks, Samantha Markham and Shiela Markham, all of Tazewell, Va.; parents, Melvin & Linda Markham of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Tammy Finke and husband Mike of Las Vegas, Nev., and Terri Evans and husband Jerry Jaramillo of Anton Chico; brother, Chuck Markham and wife Mary of Storey City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
