GILBERT (GIBBY) SANCHEZ, 51, of Lamy died Friday after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frutosa Sanchez; sister, Corrine Chavez and brother, David Sanchez.
He is survived by his father, Antonio Sanchez; brothers, Orlando and Esther Sanchez, John Sanchez, Robert Mary Jo Sanchez, Mike Sanchez and Margie Ortiz; sons, Jared Dukeminier and Gilbert Sanchez, Jr.; daughter, Tammy Oliveros and husband Hugo; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lamy Cemetery.

JOSIE L. M. THOMPSON, 66, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evaristo and Margarita Lucero; brothers, Ernest and Mike Lucero; and sister, Dolores Ortiz.
She was born in Pecos. She was employed as a nurse for Professional Home Health Care for over 10 years. Her main devotion was raising her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Mike and wife Sue Montoya, Leroy Montoya and girlfriend Diana and Del Montoya; daughters, Evelyn and Danny Griego, Annette and husband Adrian Martinez; brothers, Evaristo "Abe" Lucero, Tony and wife Josie Lucero and Johnny Lucero; sister, Margaret Chavez; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

DON FERMIN VIGIL, 98, of Española died Saturday after a short illness.
He was a miner and sheepherder for many years. He loved to read the Bible and garden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel R. Vigil; children, Juanita, Minnie, Leo and Ben Vigil; parents, Manuel Vigil & Filomena Salazar; sisters, Santana, Estefanita, Sophia, Eusebia, Juanita and Tonita; brothers, Rumaldo, Epifanio, Odocio, Gorgonio, Mariano, Benedicto, Jose Gordonio, Amadeo and Manuel; and many other relatives.
He is survived by special granddaughters who cared for him for the last two years, Linda and Helen Vigil; children, Phil Vigil and wife Judy and Gloria Vigil, both of Salt Lake City, Jose Manuel Vigil and wife Lydia of Española, Theresa Montoya and husband Richard of Cuarteles, Larry Vigil of San Pedro, Roberto Vigil-Rodriguez and wife Priscilla of California and Tina Hope and husband Derrick of Port McNiel, Canada; 31 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

DANA E. ELLIOTT, 81, of Los Alamos died Monday.
He was born in New Vienna, Ohio, to Blanch and Harry Elliott. He carried his love of farming throughout his life. He graduated valedictorian from Wilmington High School and entered Ohio State University. After completing one semester, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the V12 program at the University of Louisville in the Naval ROTC program, where he earned a BSEE in 1948. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded the American Campaign medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He met his wife in Louisville, Ky., and they married in 1948. He was employed in 1949 by Allis-Chalmers as a betatron engineer in Milwaukee. In 1954, he was hired by Los Alamos National Laboratory as a staff member and assigned to the nondestructive testing section working with betatron radiography. He retired from the laboratory in 1990 but continued as a consultant through 1995. He was a member of the United Church and served on many committees and as the president of council for one year.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.
He is survived by his brother, Ralph W. Elliott of Wilmington, Ohio; daughters, Edith Cardwell of Rixeyville, Va., Joan Ellard and husband Kirk of Los Alamos and Jennifer York and husband Buddy of Los Lunas; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Los Alamos. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to his Hospice providers, Vista Care, 5201 Venice NE, Albuquerque, N.M., 87113.

MICHELO JOAQUIN "MICKEY" SENA, 31, of Albuquerque died Saturday after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a former resident of Sapello. He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Jose Manuel Sena and Mary Lou Gold. He was a self-employed truck driver, a mechanic who loved to work on old trucks, a team roper and hunter.
He is survived by his fiancé, Annette Griego; children, Kenny & Kassandra Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; son and daughter, Jacob Sena and Miranda Encinias and their mother, Linda Sena, all of Albuquerque; mother, Mary Lou Maestas and husband Simon of Bernalillo; father, Manuel Sena and wife Audrey of Sapello; brothers and sisters, Joey Sena and wife Georgette and Brenda Sena and special friend Javier Fabella, all of Bernalillo, Shane Sena and wife Edna and Kristiana Sena, all of Sapello; stepsister, Natalie Sanchez of Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sapello with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Sapello.

RICARDO "MICKEY" MARTINEZ, 71, of Ranchos de Taos, died Tuesday.
He is survived by his son, Richard Martinez and wife Tina; daughter, Shirley Gutierrez and husband Julio; brother, Edmundo Martinez and wife Katie; sisters, Mary Velasquez and Justina LeDoux and husband George; and five grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Rivera Chapel. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at the same church.

RAPHAEL R. SOLANO, 49, of Raton died Monday.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Andy and Fabie Solano. He was a member of St. Patrick-St. Joseph Catholic Church and a board member of the Raton Arts Council. He was the sales manager for Solano's Boot and Western Wear in Raton.
He is survived by his parents, Andy and Fabie Solano of Raton; sons, Dreyson and Berek Solano, both of Raton; brother, Ted Solano and wife Debrah of Albuquerque; sister, Sandra Langan and husband bill of Aurora, Colo.; and many other relatives.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the same church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Raton Arts Council.
