OTTO JAMES MURRELL, 84, died Tuesday in Cerro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired as a construction foreman and at the time of his death owned O.J. Murrell Guns in Cerro. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Murrell; and sisters, Pamela Bagwell and Ella M. Combs. He is survived by his wife, Irene Murrell; children, Donald Alan Murrell of Colchester, Vt., and Michael Steven Murrell of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Esta M. OPAL MANDALEE OLIVAS, 79, died Tuesday in Albuquerque. She was a foster mother to more than 39 children over the last 30 years and loved to work with teenagers. ALISON LYNN KRETZ, 63, died Wednesday in Las Vegas, N.M. She graduated from Robertson High School and earned her bachelor's degree in home economics at New Mexico Highlands University. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the organist for 27 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Madeline Phillips; and son, Jeffrey L. Kretz. She is survived by her husband, John L. DELIA M. OWINGS, 90, died Thursday in Las Vegas, N.M., after a long illness. She raised eight adopted children and two granddaughters. She loved to read her Bible, crochet and cook. LEOPOLDO LUJAN, 92, of Pajarito Village died Wednesday in Albuquerque.
He was a lifelong rancher and farmer. In 1941, he entered the U.S. Army and served in an artillery regiment in the Phillippines until the fall of Bataan, becoming a prisoner of the Japanese in what is known as the Bataan Death March.
He is survived by his sisters, Endelecia Lujan and Amanda Lujan of Española and Isabel Roybal of Santa Fe; brothers, Ruben Lujan, Agustin Lujan, and Eloy Lujan, all of Española, and Freddie Lujan of Santa Fe; and many other relatives.

GEORGE M. MARTINEZ, 86, of Velarde died Wednesday.
He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Philippines during the attack at Bataan and was awarded three Bronze Stars.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Martinez.
