ROSALIA ATENCIO, 92, of Farmington died Thursday.
She was a former resident of Canjilon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonor and Melaquias Abeyta; sister, Stella DeVargas; brother, Arturo Abeyta; first husband, Rosendo DeVargas; second husband, Juan Gonzales; and third husband, Ed Atencio.
She is survived by her son, Tircio DeVargas and wife, Inez, of Canjilon; daughters, Eleanor Martinez and husband, Melisendro, of Canjilon; Louisa Martinez and husband, Juan, of Rio Chama; a grandson she raised as her own, Danny DeVargas and wife, Agnes, of Kirtland; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Services have been held.

RAYMOND C. COWELL, 85, of Santa Fe died Friday after an extended illness.
He was born in Renfrow, Okla., and raised in Caldwell, Kan. He struck out for Denver at age 16 where he enrolled in a plumbing trade school and later worked for Bell Plumbing. He met and married his future wife from Northern New Mexico. They moved to New Mexico where he worked as foreman on his father-in-law's ranch in Abiquiu. They later moved to Santa Fe, where together they built their present home. He worked for Brown Pipe in Los Alamos for 10 years, and then worked for Butler Plumbing & Heating until retirement. He was a member of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada, Local Union No. 412 for 55 years. He was an expert fisherman and hunter and would take his family on outings every weekend possible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew Cowell and Iva Davis Cowell; sister, Oralene Briggs; and son, Roy Charles Cowell.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Gonzales) Cowell; daughters, Elaine A. Lewis and husband Gary of Las Vegas, N.M., Susan Montoya and husband Mario of Santa Fe, brother and sisters, Rosa Gerberding, Roy E. Cowell and wife Helen, Inez Alexander, Dorothy Seward, Darlene Huffman and husband Gene, and Lenora Fike and husband Ron; five grandchildren; Tammy Langer and husband Dana of Houston, Brenda Lewis and companion Shawn Fahey of Las Vegas, N.M., Suzanna Sedillo and husband Carlo of Rio Rancho, and Raymond and Pablo Montoya, both of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. today with a rosary at 6 p.m. at McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary. Mass of will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Wednesday with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

MARIA DOLORES CONTRERAS (DODO), 54, of Santa Fe died Friday.
She was the daughter of Joe D. and Ida Serrano. She was a loving mother and wife. She was married in 1969 in Santa Fe and then moved to Colorado where she was employed by the Colorado State Department of Human Service for 13 years. She returned with her family to Rio En Medio in 1986 and was employed by the New Mexico State Department of Human Service for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; son, Timothy and wife Magdalena Contreras of Rio En Medio; daughter, Jennifer and husband Anthony Lujan of Santa Fe; five grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Serrano, Stella and husband Juan Luciano, Barbara Serrano, Jan and husband Rudy Crespin and brother, Joe and wife Donna Serrano, all of Grand Junction, Colo.; special uncle, Pres and wife Lillian Serrano of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rio En Medio Cemetery.

URSULA LORRAINE DURAN, 19, of Pojaoque died Wednesday.
She was loved by many and touched the hearts of many people.
She is survived by her son, Isaiah; boyfriend, Thomas Lujan; brother, Jodaniel; sisters, Santana, Marquita and Nicole; cousin, Lorrena; parents, David and Elaine Duran; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with burial to follow at the Duran family cemetery.

MELISSA EVA MARTINEZ, 40, of Vallecitos died Friday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a very kindhearted person who always put the needs of other people ahead of her own. She was a loving, unselfish, and caring person who was very respectful towards her elders. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Salazar.
She is survived by her parents, Joe Pacheco of Ranchitos and Frances Pacheco of San Juan Pueblo; son, Orlando Anthony Martinez of San Juan Pueblo; fiancé, Manuel Gurule of Vallecitos; brother, Arthur Pacheco and wife Sandra of San Juan Pueblo; sisters, Darlene Landin and husband Steve of Los Alamos, Sharon Pacheco of San Juan Pueblo and Cathy Pacheco and companion Joey Moya of San Juan Pueblo; father of her son, Orlando Martinez; best friend, Margie Carklin of Ojo Caliente and many other relatives and friends.

LEONARD W. MONTOYA, 51, of Santa Fe died Saturday.
He is survived by his son, Leonard E. Montoya and girlfriend Arlene Vigil; daughter, Christine Montoya; and ex-wife Melba Ruiz.

ALICE LEONA (LEE) MOULTON, 85, of Los Alamos died suddenly Friday.
She was born in Methuen, Mass., to Francis Taylor and Alice Ross Taylor. She was trained in a textile mill at Lawrence, Mass., and worked as a toolmaker during World War II for GE at Lynn, Mass. She came to Los Alamos in December 1945 to begin work as a counting technician at the Manhattan District. She met her future husband at work there and was married in Santa Fe in 1947. They started a family in one of the first Western Area houses. She was active in square dancing, Cub Scouting, doing craft-work, swimming, bridge clubs and was a superb homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Chester of Massachusetts.
She is survived by her husband, George H. Moulton; sons, Allan H. Moulton of Indiana and David E. and wife Millicent R. Moulton of Arizona; and sisters, Ethel Monfet of New Hampshire and Barbara Madden of Massachusetts.
Services are expected to be this week at Guaje Pines in Los Alamos. Please contact McGee Memorial Mortuary for further details. 983-9151.

ROBERT M. SANCHEZ, 61, of Dixon died unexpectedly Saturday.
He was a lifelong member of the Dixon community. He was an educator for 36 years. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, his garden and his orchard. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors to chop wood or any other project. He loved his children and his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Carlotta Sanchez; sister, Mabel Chavez; and brother, Emilio Sanchez.
He is survived by his daughter, Gina Gonzales and husband Gil of Santa Fe and Kara Sanchez of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; mother of his children, Patricia Sanchez; brother, Alfonso Sanchez and wife Dila of Dixon; sisters, Frances Lopez of Albuquerque, Virginia Griego and husband Romolo and Evelyn Lovato and husband Juanito, all of Dixon, Norena Ortiz and husband Don, Nora Rogers, and Alice Martinez and husband Efren, all of Albuquerque; close friend, Sadie Martinez of Santo Niño; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will follow at the private family cemetery.
