ALFONSO S. ESQUIBEL, 95, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Tuesday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was born in San Geronimo to the late Sostenes Esquibel and Tonita Martinez. He was married in 1931 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church to the late Isabel Maese. He worked as a cook for seven years at Los Alamos National Laboratory and was formerly employed at the New Mexico State Hospital. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. He enjoyed doing yardwork at his home and having coffee and doughnuts at coffee shops throughout Las Vegas, N.M. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sostenes and Tonita Esquibel; birth parents, Juan Armijo, Sr. and Modesta Esquibel-Armijo; wife, Isabel Maese-Esquibel; sisters, Grace Padilla and Celia Garcia; and brothers, Secundino Armijo, Eliseo Armijo, Nicanor Armijo and Filimon Armijo. He is survived by his daughters, Modesta Macy and husband Ken and Margaret Gallegos, all of Las Vegas, N.M. and Gloria Heim and husband Bob of North Wales, Pa.; sons, Lorenzo A. Esquibel of Mountain View, Calif. and Gilbert Esquibel and wife Christine of Las Vegas, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; brother, Juan Armijo, Jr. and wife Lucille of Las Vegas, N.M.; special niece, Rufina Ortega of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will take place noon to 5:30 p.m. today at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the same church with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. VALERIE SUE MARGOLIS, 42, of Arroyo Seco died Sunday. She is survived by her parents, Jack and Jean Margolis of Walnut Creek, Calif. and uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends throughout America and Sweden. Her ashes will be buried in the valley that she loved in the Taos Mountains. A memorial gathering will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday at her home, #1 Black Bear Road, Arroyo Seco off of El Salto Road. AMALIA M. PACHECO, 85, of Española died Tuesday in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Clyde Pacheco and parents, Ernesto and Ciria Archuleta. She is survived by her husband, Arturo L. Pacheco; children, Luis Pacheco, also of Española, Mabel Pacheco of Calif., Edna Esparza and husband Carlos of Denver, Colo., Wil Pacheco and wife Patsy of Las Vegas, N.M., Richard L. Pacheco and wife Dorothy of Rowe, and Annabelle Reichert of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Adelaida Pacheco, Jose Archuleta and wife Alice, all of Raton, Doroteo Archuleta and wife Sally, Carlota Hernandez and Ernest Archuleta, all of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at La Iglesia De La Santa Cruz De La Cañada in the Española area with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz. TOMAS JARAMILLO, 90, of Medanales died Thursday after a short illness.
He was a descendant of the Jaramillos who first settled in the place known as Los Rechelos in the mid-1700s. He was a well-known adobe house builder. He was a sheepherder in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. He baled hay from Española to Tierra Amarilla and Chama for many people. He was a volunteer bus driver helping children receive their education. He was a rawhide weaver and bronco buster for many years. In California, he worked for the sugar industry and worked in Los Alamos as a carpenter. He was past president of the acequia of the Martinez Ditch. In his later years, he was a champion pool player. He loved listening to music and was a champion polka dancer. He loved reading his Spanish bible and dedicated his life to the love and faith in God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Trinidad Jaramillo; children, Crucita Margarita Jaramillo, Joe Tomas Jaramillo and Jose "Billy" Avelino Jaramillo; and sister, Senaida Alire.
He is survived by his sons, Robert "Bobby" Jaramillo and Eugenio Jaramillo, both of Medanales; Ralph Jaramillo Sr., wife Theresa of Bloomfield; and Pete Jaramillo of Albuquerque; daughters, Margaret Broten and husband Gary; Celine Jaramillo, Maria Odilia Minard, Arlene A. Jaramillo and Roman Bojorquez, Angel Jaramillo and Terisa Annette Jaramillo, all of Albuquerque; 24 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. A second rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Medanales.

STEVE GILBERT QUINTANA, 59, of El Prado died Wednesday.
He was a manufacturing engineer at Aerospace Ind. in San Diego and worked for the town of Taos Planning Department.
He was preceded in death by his son, Estevan Quintana; brother, Fernando Quintana and sister, Marylou Quintana.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Quintana; sons, Jake Quintana of Taos and Larry and Shaune Quintana of Washington; parents, Popolo & Ada Quintana of Taos; and brother, Dr. Paul Quintana and wife Lee of California.

NINA MARIE ROYBAL, 27, died Thursday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Las Cruces.
She was a senior at New Mexico State University, working on a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She was a loving and caring person with a multitude of friends in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and many other locations throughout the Southwest. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her fiance, Jay Loomis, skiing, cruising, dancing or just hanging out. They were planning to build a life together.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Basilio V. Roybal and Rafael Yzaguirre; and uncle, Rudy Yzaguirre. She is survived by her father, Paul C. Roybal; , Marcia A. Roybal; stepfather, Eloy Martinez; sister, Yvette McKenna and husband Doug; fiance, Jay Loomis and his parents, Bill and Diane Loomis; paternal grandmother, Josephine Roybal; maternal grandmother, Nettie Yzaguirre; and many other family members and friends.
Services have been held in Las Cruces.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the support, thoughts and prayers.

CONSUELO C. ADELO of Santa Fe died Thursday after a battle with lung cancer.
She was born Maria Rosa Consuelo Chavez to Emilio and Elena Baca Chavez. She spent her early childhood in Las Vegas, N.M., and later moved to Santa Fe. She was a member of the historic Chavez family, tracing roots back several hundred years in New Mexico and before that to Spain and Portugal. She attended St. Francis Catholic School in Santa Fe and graduated from the Academy of Loretto in 1944. As a girl, she was a dancer of traditional Spanish dances and danced atop Old La Fonda as part of Fiesta for several years. She married George F. Adelo in 1950 in Pecos after briefly living in Santa Fe and made her home in Pecos. She worked in Los Alamos during World War II as a secretary on the Manhattan Project and at the old Bureau of Revenue in the early 1960s. Besides being a full-time wife and mother, she helped with the family businesses in Pecos, managing a motel, bookkeeping and making a comfortable home. She loved her church, Old Santa Fe, Pecos, music, a good party and a great meal, many of which she hosted tirelessly over the years. She was a lifelong Catholic whose faith sustained her.
She is survived by her husband, George F. Adelo; children, George, Jeanne, Samia Armijo and Frank Pancho Adelo; six grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.
A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony's Church in Pecos. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Loretto Academy Scholarship c/o St. Michael's Foundation, 100 Siringo Road, Santa Fe, N.M., 87505.

DELFIN BACA, 71, of Chimayó died Thursday after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romolo and Salome Baca.
He is survived by his wife, Tomasita Baca of Chimayó; children, Ray Baca and wife Christy and Valerie Baca, all of Chimayó, Darleen Vigil and husband Jake of La Mesilla, Marvin Baca and wife Denise of Alcalde, and Evelyn Padilla and husband Troy of El Duende; brothers and sisters, Bernie, Fabiola and Della Baca, Sally Baca and Orlinda Baca, all of Chimayó, Leo Baca and wife Esther of Chamita; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. today with a devotional service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A wake will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayó.
