VICTORIA M. GARCIA, 95, of Santa Fe (Cañada de Los Alamos) died Saturday.
She was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Cañada and of Sagrada Familia. She was a loving wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Alberta Montoya; brother, Juan Montoya; sisters, Ignacia Escudero, Felice Montoya, and Porfila Catanach.
She is survived by her husband, George Garcia; sons, George D. Garcia and girlfriend Geraldine Quintana and Luis F. Garcia and wife Lydia; daughter, Cecilia and husband Jose Vicente Gutierrez; son, Joe "Wyoming" Garcia; sisters, Reymunda Garcia, Mary Bransford, Pita Gurule, Josie Trujillo, Tessie Sandoval, Carrie and husband Morris Clay; 15 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. today at Berardinelli Chapel. A second visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

BENJAMIN C. "BUZZARD " ORTEGA SR. (, 66, of Santa Fe died suddenly Sunday.
He was born in Rowe. He retired from the New Mexico National Guard and loved fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reymundo and Erinia Ortega.

EUTIMIO "TIMMY" SOLANO JR., 84, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Saturday at the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
He was born in Clayton and graduated from Taron High School where he was awarded the Outstanding Male Athlete Award in 1939. He was on the All State Football team and was a four-year letterman in football, basketball and softball. He played football for two years with the Trinidad State Junior College. He served with the 3704th Army Air Force Base Unit. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant in Dec. 1945. While in the military he received the American Service Medal, The American Defense Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. From 1946-1948, as a boxer, he won nine of 10 middleweight bouts. He received his bachelor's degree in 1950 and his master's degree in 1958 from New Mexico Highlands University. He was an award-winning cartoonist and poster designer and was well known in the Las Vegas area for designing and painting political posters.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #408, the Knights of Columbus, the Sociedad de San Jose, and the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Estella Marquez Solano of the family home in Las Vegas, N.M.; children, Barbara Madrid and Anthony Solano and wife Christina, Juan "Butch" Solano and Carrie, Eutimio "Winx" Solano, Eddie Solano, Steve Solano, all of Las Vegas, N.M., Isabel Solano-Sanchez and husband David and Theresa Alires and husband Orlando, all of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to the New Mexico Highlands University Foundation, Box 9000, Las Vegas, NM 87701, for a scholarship for a graduating senior at West Las Vegas High School.

IGNACIO A. TRUJILLO, 78, of Española died Saturday in Albuquerque.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, a farmer, a skilled wood-carver and furniture-maker, worked as a guard at the Santa Fe Correctional Facility and most recently worked in maintenance at The Los Alamos National Laboratories.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Trujillo; children, Bertha Garcia and Ernest of Santa Fe, Alfonso Trujillo and Carol Nez of Albuquerque, Rebecca Marks and Keith, Virginia Rountree and Matthew, all of California and Gilbert Trujillo of Colorado; brothers and sisters, Juanita Vigil of Colorado, Margaret Rodriguez and Joe of Santa Fe, Donicio Trujillo and Clara, Martha Herrera, and Helen Ortiz and Frank, all of Albuquerque, six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today at La Iglesia De La Santa Cruz De La Cañada with burial to follow at 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

FRANCES A. VIGIL, 70, died Sunday, of Fairview, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Amalia to Elias and Racquel Trujillo. She graduated from Costilla High School and later married Robert Vigil. She was an educator and taught in many of the Española and northern New Mexico Head Start children in her long career. She was a member and later an honorary member of the Rio Costilla Cooperative Livestock Association/Rio Costilla Park, a devoted parishioner of the Santa Cruz Catholic Church, and an artist who loved to work with wood and tin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vigil Sr.; son, Robert J. Vigil; her mother, father and brother, Tranquelino Trujillo. She is survived by her children, Elias Vigil and wife Trina and Jennifer Vigil and fiancé Brian Miera, all of Fairview; four granchildren; special niece, Tina Archuleta and husband Ruben; brother, Luis "Baba" Trujillo; sister, Ruth Vigil and husband Billy, all of Costilla, Sadie Montoya of Pueblo, Colo. and Mae Sanchez of Questa; and many other relatives and friends.

NINA MARIE ROYBAL, 27, of Las Cruces died Nov. 11 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Las Cruces. She was a senior at New Mexico State University, working on a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She was a loving and caring person with a multitude of friends in Las Cruces, Santa Fe and many other locations throughout the Southwest. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her fiance Jay Loomis, skiing, cruising, dancing or just hanging out. They were planning to build a life together. She is survived by her father, Paul C. Roybal; mother, Marcia A. Roybal and stepfather Eloy Martinez; sister, Yvette McKenna and husband Doug McKenna; fiancé, Jay Loomis; and many other relatives and friends.
