FLORINDA Q. ORTIZ of Albuquerque died Tuesday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Willie Ortiz and daughter, Connie Ortiz.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Ortiz and wife, Eva; brothers, Eddie Quintana and Arturo Quintana; six grandchildren; and friend, Azucena Serrano.
A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday at the Santuario de Guadalupe, 100 North Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same location.

CARLOS M. SENA, 84, of Santa Fe died Sunday after a brief illness.
He was born in Pecos, the son of Feliciano and Encarnacion Sena. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a simple man who loved animals and enjoyed swimming and walking.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Secundino Sena, Jose Sena, Eduvigen Quintana and Maria Sena.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Pena, and many other relatives and friends.

MICHAEL EDWARD SILVA, 42, of Santa Fe died Tuesday.
He was born in Santa Fe, the son of Nick and Ruby Silva. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, class of 1980 and went on to become an exceptional mechanic.
He is survived by his children, Michelle, Robert and John Silva; brothers, Julian and wife Janet, Anthony and wife Teri, and Patrick and wife Rebecca; and many other relatives and friends.

OFELIA GARDUNO RIVERA, 97, affectionately know as "La Tia," died Monday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M., following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Rivera; brother, Geronimo Garduno; sister-in-law, Antonia Garduno; nephews Pete and Jerry Garduno and nieces Edwina, Denise and April Garduno. She was born in Chaperito, N.M., on Nov. 30, 1906 to the late Pedro and Adela Lucero Garduno. She attended the Sisters of Loretto Catholic School in Bernalillo and received her bachelor's degree from New Mexico Normal University. She taught school in Chaperito and Trujillo, and worked at the Las Vegas Medical Center. She also played the organ at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas and at the San Isidro Mission Church in Chaperito. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Isabel Chavez and husband Manuel, Ray Garduno and wife Andrea, Helen Montoya and husband Carlos, Alice Gallegos and husband Donald, Viola Garduno and Willie Sanchez, Edwina Gallegos and husband Trinnie, Tony Garduno, Danny Garduno and wife Antonia, Gilbert Garduno and Joe Garduno, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; Della Gonzales and husband Rosalio of Arlington, Texas; Leo Garduno and wife Patricia of Los Lunas, Lorraine Hernandez and husband Fred of Pueblo, Colo.; Rosemary Garduno, Rosanne Trujillo and husband Leo and Marilla Garduno all of Las Vegas, N.M.; Emma Garduno of Denver, Barbara Griego and husband Fidencio, Paul Garduno and wife Lisa, Chris Garduno and wife Lorraine, Peter Garduno and wife Syliva, Timmy Gallegos, Elizabeth Ulibarri and husband David, Melanie Lopez and husband Jerry, John Griego and Marlo, Stephanie Griego, Consuelo Garduno and Esther Montoya and husband Lonnie, all of Las Vegas, N.M., and many other relatives. SAMUEL "SAM" MONTOYA, 49, of La Mesilla died Wednesday.
He was formerly of Ranchos de Taos. He was a former county manager for Taos and Santa Fe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Montoya.
He is survived by his mother, Viola Montoya of Ranchos de Taos; sister, Frances Duran and husband Joe of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.

CATHRINE L. PEERY, 64, of Santa Fe died Sunday after a long illness.
She was born in Warren, Minn., to the late Dennis and Hulda Kluxdal. She married Charles S. "Chuck" Peery in 1966 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was the co-owner and secretary-treasurer of Territorial Safe and Lock Inc.
She is survived by her husband; brother, James Kluxdal and wife Lola of Centerville, Iowa; sister, Jane Myers and husband Dave of Hiawatha, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Berardinelli Family Chapel.

JOHN QUINTANA, 85, of Taos died Wednesday.
He was born in Costilla and was a longtime resident of Taos. He was living in Rio Rancho with family members at the time of his death. He enjoyed dancing and was a member of Los Bailadoes del Norte Dance Group. He authored stories in La Herencia Magazine. He participated in the Senior Olympics and was a great community leader. He was a beloved husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Filiberto and Sara Quintana.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Maria Quintana, formerly of Taos; children, Ann Lucero and husband Richard of Alameda, Orlando Quintana and wife Rose, Celestina Quintana, Petra Quintana and David Rael and John Quintana Jr., all of Taos, Rosemarie Padilla and husband Robert of Corrales, Joyce Quintana of Rio Rancho, David Quintana of Santa Teresa; 24 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alice Alire, Anita Harrel, Mae Gonzalez and husband Jim, all of Denver, Stella Reynolds and husband Bud of Sacramento, Calif., Agatha Jacobs of Lompoc, Calif., Don Quintana and wife Nettie of Brighton, Colo.; and Bert Quintana and wife Bernice of Costilla; and many other relatives.
A visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street NW in Albuquerque.
