RICHARD H. WOLFORD, 82, of Santa Fe died Saturday.
He was a senior partner with Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher of Los Angeles from 1946 until his retirement in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Richard George Wolford and wife Karen of San Francisco and Peter Arlington Wolford of Maui, Hawaii; and daughter, Felicia Wolford Morrow and husband Daniel of Bethesda, Md.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Santa Fe Opera, P. O. Box 2408, Santa Fe, NM 87504-2408.

JOE LOUCK, 34, of Santa Fe died Sunday of pneumonia at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque.
He was born in Los Alamos and grew up there. He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1988. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, caving and horseback riding with his brothers and friends. He loved children and entertained many at Halloween with his unique costumes, decorations and personally prepared hand-outs to the trick-or-treat callers. He loved animals, especially dogs, and his kindness opened the door to many. He was a graduate of the University of New Mexico in 1993 with a degree in biochemistry. He held himself and his colleagues to the highest standard of integrity and honesty in his chosen profession of environmental engineering, which led him through a number of challenging jobs, the most recent being with Adelante Consulting.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sam.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Marge Louck, former Los Alamos residents, now in Santa Fe; brother, Tom of Albuquerque; and many other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart and Soul Animal Sanctuary, 369 Montezuma Ave., Suite 130, Santa Fe, NM 87501. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Road, 662-2971.

PAT E. ORTIZ, 65, of Ranchos de Taos died Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ortiz; children, Dan Ortiz, Leticia Tafoya and Renee Weber; stepchildren, Karen Chavez and husband Joseph and Martin Valerio and wife Jackie; brothers and sister, Claudio Gilberto Ortiz, Irene Valerio and husband Pancho, Henry and Victor Ortiz; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at San Francisco de Asis Church with burial to follow at New Llano Quemado Cemetery.

BYRON "BUD" YABUMOTO QUIMBEY, 58, of Las Colonias died Thursday.
He was a stone knapper of unusual skill.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; sons, Robert Quimbey and Ron Quimbey; one grandson; and sister, Yuki June Alperstein and husband Perry.

HELEN ELENA GREGORIA GARCIA-SALAZAR, 69, of Chamita died Tuesday.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, who raised her, Agustine Garcia and Dorotea Vigil-Garcia; father, Pedro Alcantar Garcia; and husband, Jose Leandro Agustin Salazar.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Lovato Garcia of Espaņola; children, Isaac C. Salazar and wife Nancy of Chamita and Georgia C. Salazar-Martinez and husband William of Medenales; brothers and sisters, Loyola Trujillo of Chamita, Rosie Quintana and husband Steve of Santo Nino, Eileen Sandoval and Raymond of Santa Fe, Floyd Garcia, Dorothy Quintana and Henry and Theresa Garcia, all of Espaņola, Pete Garcia Jr., Olivia Ludi and Lucille Torrez, all of Albuquerque, Joyce Ferran and husband Leroy of Reno, Nev., two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Block Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan Pueblo with burial to follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Chamita.

ELIZARDO SANCHEZ, 81, of Los Cordovas died Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Sanchez; children, Alyce Sanchez and husband Flavio Medina and Joseph Sanchez; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

VIRGINIA M. BARBERO, 87, died Nov. 23, 2004, in Victorville, Calif.
She resided in Victorville since 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Sorida Maestas; husband, Reyes F. Barbero; son, Fred Leroy Barbero; and brothers, Joe and Margarito Maestas.
She is survived by her children Tony M. Barbero, Robert S. Barbero, Betty C. Warthen and husband Ed, Dorothy Barbero and David Barbero; six grandchildren; sister, Carmen Chavez; and brothers, Celestino Maestas and Juan Maestas.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

JOSE ANSELMO LOPEZ, 81, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Nov. 4, 2004, after a long illness.
He was formerly of El Guache. He enjoyed playing his guitar and was known for his love of music. He was preceded in death by his sons, Benny and Dennis Lopez; brothers, Emedardo and Epimenio Lopez; and parents, Federico and Rebecca Lopez.
He is survived by his daughters, Lucille Garcia of Santo Nino and Ersie Martinez and husband Eddie of Ranchitos; brothers, Margarito Lopez of Espaņola and Abelino Lopez of Pueblo, Colo.; close nephew that was like a brother, Horace Lopez and wife Carrie of El Llano; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Caņada with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
