RICARDO MIGUEL VIGIL, 16, of Santa Fe died suddenly Friday.
He was born in Santa Fe, the son of Laura Vigil. He attended St. Francis Elementary School and DeVargas Jr. High. He was presently a junior at Santa Fe High School and worked part time for Dominoes Pizza. He was a gentle, kind and loving son. He loved animals. He was devoted to his Catholic religion.
He is survived by his mother, Laura Vigil and stepfather, Ron Vialapando; uncle/father Karl Vigil; and sister/aunt, Maria Valencia-Finley and husband Eric.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

TIMOTHY "TIM" E. CAMPBELL, 49, of Center Point, Ind., died in November. He was born in Rushville, Ind., the son of Julius Campbell and Frances Mahan Campbell. He grew up in the Terre Haute and Cory, Ind., area and attended Clay City High School. He served as sergeant jumpmaster in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1974-1977. In 1987, he moved to Los Lunas and began his career as a successful roofing contractor. He married Doreen Tso-Olivas Campbell in 1989. They moved back to Clay County, Ind., in December of 2003 to be with extended family. He enjoyed being with family and friends, and bass fishing, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and sister, Linda Miller. He is survived by his wife, Doreen Campbell; sons, Timothy Jason Campbell of Terre Haute, and Zachary Ursulo Campbell of Center Point; daughters, Angela Maehler and husband Mike of Terre Haute and Dayna Louise Campbell of Center Point; two granddaughters; brothers, Stephen Campbell, John Campbell and wife Cindy, Donald Campbell and JV Campbell; sisters, Pam Pershing, Mary Morse and husband Bill, and Julie Strijdhorst and Erik; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayó. ART GREENWOOD of Los Alamos died Oct. 10 of a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Estelle Greenwood of Pojoaque, and wife, Joyce. He is survived by his children, Rebecca Collinsworth and husband Paul of Los Alamos, Dr. Bill Greenwood and wife Joan of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jim Greenwood and wife Gail of Sanibel Island, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. MARCELLA VALDEZ MARTINEZ, 88, of Española, died Monday after a short illness. She was an educator and deputy treasurer for the county of Rio Arriba. She was past chairman of the Rio Arriba Democratic Party and a member of the Sociedad Protectiva. She was very energetic and active in helping handicapped and the less fortunate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo Martinez; parents, Ricardo and Emiteria Valdez; and brothers and sisters, Tito, Cruz, Orlando and Bernie Valdez and Loyola Valdez Carbajal. She is survived by her children, Johnny Martinez and wife Connie of Santa Fe, Ramon Martinez and wife Ramona of Ojo Caliente, Manuel Martinez of Española, Cruz Martinez and Mary Lou Blea and husband Arthur, all of La Mesilla; grandson raised like a son, Roland Martinez of Española; 12 other grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A public visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. in the DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. ERMINIA A. RUDOLPH, 88, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Monday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. She was born in Wagon Mound to the late Benjamin Alcon and Rosalia Montoya. She was married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Fe in 1937. She owned and operated the Palomino Hotel. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Catholic Daughters, DOE-Elks and Farmers Extension. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Rosalia Alcon; husband, Lawrence F. Rudolph; and sisters, Aurora LeDoux, Barbara McNeff, Viola Bustos and Adeline Fegutti. She is survived by her sons, Gene Rudolph and Jerry Rudolph and wife Bernice, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, Manuel Alcon and wife Genevieve of Mora; sister, Lila Maes of Santa Fe; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the same church with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. CARMEL ULIBARRI, 83, of El Barranco died Saturday after an extended illness. She was born in Puertecito to the late Dionisio Montoya and Maria San Juanita Romero. She was married to Eligio Ulibarri in San Miguel County in 1940. She worked for many years at West Las Vegas Schools/El Valle School as a cook. She was a foster grandparent for 22 years. She loved to cook, sew crochet and gardening. Her home was always open to everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dionisio and Maria San Juanita Montoya; husband, Eligio Ulibarri; and son, Manuel Ulibarri. She is survived by her sister, Julia Montoya of Moriarty; children, Eppie Villanueva and husband Raymond of Villanueva, Telesfor Ulibarri and wife Theresa of Waterflow, Tina Wade and husband George of Missouri, Isidra Fields of Moriarty, Peter Ulibarri of El Pueblo, Grabble Stubblefield and husband Carl of Oregon, and Pita Manzanares and husband Nick of Hobbs; 18 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the San Miguel Del Vado Church in San Miguel. MANUEL VIGIL, 80, of Espanola died Sunday. He was the son of the late Francisco and Genara L. Vigil. He is survived by his brother, Reuben "Wimpy" Vigil of the family home; close friends, Teresa Martinez and Jill Velarde; and many other relatives and friends. JAMES J. (JIM) FOX of Santa Fe died Saturday, Dec. 4.
He was born and raised in Santa Fe. He graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1976, attended the University of New Mexico and graduated from California State University at Northridge in 1979 with a degree in finance. He worked in the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration, Financial Control Division, before beginning work at Ten Thirty One Exchange Corp. which he owned and operated until the time of his death. He had a quick wit, great sense of humor, and heart of gold.
He is survived by his family and friends, including Dawn and Doug Osborne, Michael and Matthew Osborn, Mary Jane Gonzales and Dickie Quintana; brother, John Fox and wife Cindy; children, Charlotte and Billy Fox; sister, Jean Yodice and husband Gary; and many other relatives and friends.
A private memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Cure Autism Now, 5455 Wilshire Blvd. No. 715, Los Angeles, CA 90036, or National Alliance for Autism Research, 99 Wall Street, Research Park, Princeton, NJ 08540.

THOMAS (TOM) A. GORDON , 75, of Santa Fe died Nov. 26 after a long illness.
He was born in Raleigh, N.C., the son of the late Roscoe and Ida Mae Byrd. He married Grace Buchanan Gordon and attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He was employed from 1958-1994 with the Simplex Time Recorder Co., president of the 100 Percent Club twice at conventions, manager in Portland, Ore. and later in San Francisco. He served as a deacon in many Presbyterian churches, men's breakfast bible study and was on the vestry of Christ Episcopal Church, Lake Oswego, Ore., serving as senior warden for two years. He was also on the vestry at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Orinda, Calif. He liked to hike, walk, read and ride bikes with his wife. He enjoyed and loved his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; children, Mary Gordon Colarik and husband Michael of Akron, Ohio, Malcolm G. Gordon of Middletown, Calif., Mark Buchanan Gordon and wife Cecilia of Houston and Margaret Gordon Jackson and husband Mark of Bishop, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, 1920 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505 or to Odyssey Health Care-Hospice, 1701 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at The Episcopal Church of The Holy Faith, 311 Palace Ave.

JOSEPH H. SCALET, 93, died of natural causes on Sunday, December 5.
He was born in Pittsburg, Kan. to Joseph and Catherine Scalet. Affectionately known as "Papa Joe" by his students, he was a coach and teacher for 37 years. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II and 21 years in the Naval Reserve. In 1939 he married Kathryn R. Bell in Pittsburg. In 1977 they moved to a home in the country near Chama where he enjoyed gardening, working on his home, entertaining friends and fishing for trout in the streams and lakes of northern New Mexico. He loved the Midwest where he was from and especially loved the beauty of the land and the people of northern New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, children, Joseph H. Scalet Jr. and wife Janet of Edgerton, Kan., Sarah C. Scalet of Albuquerque and Michael A. Scalet and wife Susan of Bayfield, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
