LOUELLA RODRIGUEZ, 73, of Ranchos de Taos died Monday.
She is survived by her children, Casey Wurst of Los Cordovas, Susan Wilkerson of Clovis, Calif., and Loucinda Caress of West Covina, Calif.; brother, Fred Thorpe and wife Carol of Grover Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rivera Chapel.

JOE P. BACA SR., 87, of Santa Clara Pueblo died unexpectedly on Tuesday.
He was a sports enthusiast. He was a basketball referee, and baseball player and coach. He also loved fishing and hunting. He was the first American Indian to be elected to a public school board and was the first fleet manager for the Jicarilla Tribe.
He was preceded in death by his son, John William Baca.
He is survived by his wife, Emma G. Baca of Santa Clara Pueblo; sons, Joe Baca Jr. and wife Nora Lucille Martinez-Baca of Chimayó, Alvin H. Baca and wife Rosemary of Isleta Pueblo and Louis M. Baca of Santa Clara Pueblo; daughter, Geraldine Lucero and husband Benjamin of Isleta Pueblo; brother, Tony Baca and wife Angela of Santa Clara Pueblo; sisters, Gregorita Chavarria and Anacita Tafoya, both of Santa Clara Pueblo; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will take place at 10 a.m. today at the First Indian Baptist Church in El Llano with burial to follow at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.

SIMODOCEA LOVATO, 99, of Cañones died Thursday. She was a member of El Concilio Femmini. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her birthday parties and loved to sing.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elizardo Valdez; second husband, Medardo Lovato; and parents, Eliseo and Ursula Valdez.
She is survived by her daughters, Ursula Duran of Ranchitos and Eileen Trujillo of Durango, Colo.; sons, Felix Valdez and wife Grace of Cañones and Rudy Valdez and wife Ginnie of Española; stepchildren, Cordy and Richard Madrid, Nora and Filimon Garcia and Juan Lovato; 19 grandchildren; close friend, Veronica Valdez of Española; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. today with a devotional service at 6 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at noon Saturday at the Assembly of God in Cañones with burial to follow at a family cemetery in Cañones.

ORLANDO SANDOVAL, 71, of Ranchos de Taos died Wednesday.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bernice Arneson.
He is survived by his wife, Celia M. Sandoval; children, Wilbur Trujillo, Frances Lopez, Tessie Lopez, Louella Medina, Natalia Mondragon and Miguel Medina; brothers, Johnny Sandoval and wife Bebe, Armando Archuleta and wife Carol, Joe Sandoval, Christin Sandoval, Ernesto Sandoval, Juan Espinoza and wife Rose, seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same church. Burial will take place Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

RUTH BUSTOS, 72, of Española died Sunday after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Luis Bustos; parents, Avenicio and Onofre Fernandez; sisters, Sabinita Fernandez, Minnie Fernandez, Celia Padilla and Simosea Romero; brothers, Atanacio, Emiliano and Arsenio Fernandez; and sons, Jerry and Luis Bustos.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence A. Bustos and wife, Helen, of Fairview; daughter, Leathea Johnstone of Layfayette, Colo.; sisters, Grace Trujillo of Cordova and Polly Valdez and husband, Vidal, of Española; 12 grandchildren; close family members, Ernie Fernandez Sr. of Española and Michael Valdez Sr. of Ranchitos; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

ANTHONY "TONY" WILL COCA, 84, former resident of Los Alamos died Monday.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M. He attended school in Las Vegas, N.M., until he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served five years. He was employed at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Los Alamos for 56 years. He was active in the Los Alamos Chapter of The Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 90, the DAV and the Carpenter's Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcella Will and Alfredo Coca Sr.; and brothers, Alfredo Jr., and Frank.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Michael Anthony; daughter, Eileen Mraule and husband John; and four grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sangre de Cristo Church, 8901 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos with burial of cremated remains to follow at 3 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus in Los Alamos or charity of your choice.

JOHN "PATRICIO" ARCHULETA, 63, of Aurora, Colo., died Dec. 6 at the Aurora Medical Center. He was a former resident of San Jose, N.M., and Albuquerque. He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Agnes Archuleta. He was raised in San Jose by Agnes and Celedonio Montano. He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class. He retired in 1990 from Rich Ford in Albuquerque, where he was employed in the parts department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Celedonio Montano; and brothers, Charlie Montano and Tony Montano. He is survived by his son, John P. Archuleta of Phoenix; daughter, Shirley Rodriguez and husband Ruben of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; brother, Roberto Montano and wife Tina of Santa Fe; sisters, Nancy Huntsinger and husband Mark of Aurora, Colo., and Rita Jaramillo and husband Juan of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the San Jose Church in San Jose.
