DELBERT D. LEWIS, 80, of Santa Fe died Sunday at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Waco, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force for over twenty years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He served his country during the course of World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam. In his retirement, he was a commercial airline pilot and private pilot. He earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Arizona in 1974. As a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years, he was a nursing home administrator and owned Granada de Santa Fe nursing facility. He was also a partner in Laundromats de Santa Fe. He was a past commander of the Military Officer Association of America-Santa Fe Chapter and the Military Order of the World Wars-Santa Fe Chapter. He established the Sunbelt Patriotic Youth Leadership Conference, Inc. in 1998, an achievement of which he was most proud.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Lewis.
He is survived by his brother, Bobby Lewis and wife Alice of Del Rio, Texas; sister, Suzanne Hanson of Russellville, Ark.; children, Thomas D. Lewis and wife Catherine of Vienna, Va., Delbert D. Lewis Jr. and wife Karen of San Antonio, Texas and Lenee Pitts and husband Gerald of Emmett, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and his wife's children, Jane Despain and husband Darwin, John Welby and wife Vikki, James Welby and wife Michelle, Maryellen Mitschelen and husband Shawn, Daniel Welby and wife Kellie.
A visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday with services to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Berardinelli Funeral Home, 1399 Luisa St., Santa Fe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Vincent Hospital Foundation, 455 St. Michaels Drive, Santa Fe, 87504 or to the Sunbelt PYLC, 1209 Placita Loma, Santa Fe, 87501.

ROMIE MARTINEZ, 85, of Santa Fe died Sunday.
She was born to the late Doroteo and Cecelia Saiz. She married Juan J. Martinez in Santa Fe in 1937. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and embroidering. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Agnes (Inez) Chavez.
She is survived by her husband, Juan J. Martinez; sister, Justa Rodriguez; daughters, Susie Vela and husband Joe, Patsy Lucero, Shelia Martinez, Alice Trujillo and husband J.R., Cindy Martinez and fiance Rick; sons, David Martinez and wife Toni, Johnny Martinez, Jimmy Martinez and wife Mary Ann; 25 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A visitation will be held at 5 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A second visitation will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the same chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A reception will be announced at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Carmelite Monastery.

ADOLFO R. MONTOYA, 79, of Albuquerque died Sunday.
He was a veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 99 and a member of Bear Canyon Senior Citizen Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Amelia Montoya; and sister, Tomasita Chavez.
He is survived by his wife, Lela Montoya; daughter, Mary Ann Montoya of Albuquerque; sons, Danny Montoya and wife Rebecca of Tucson, Ariz.; Adolfo Montoya, III and wife Choo Choo of Santa Fe, and Eloy C. Montoya and wife Diana of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Lela Montoya and Corina Luchini; brother, Alerico Montoya; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. today at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerque with burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

LEVI C. RAEL, 65, of Santa Fe died Saturday.
He graduated from St. Michael's High School, served in the U.S. Marine Corp., was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union 1353 and La Union Protectiva de Santa Fe. He owned Levi Construction and Management.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Rael.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Levi Jude and wife Roberta; daughters, Debra Hodge and husband Gary, Marsha Eker and husband Darrell and Beverly Farmer and husband Richard; eight grandchildren; friend, Sabino Ortiz; sisters, Marcella Gage, Antoinette and husband Albert LaFebre and Cynthia and Albert Maes; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

HAROLD SANCHEZ SR., 51, of Chimayó died unexpectedly Saturday.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas (Nick) Sanchez; and mother, Lugarda Martinez-Sanchez.
He was previously retired from the Española Public Schools after 27 years of service but had recently returned to his love of teaching at Carlos Vigil Middle School. He also taught for Peñasco and McCurdy high schools.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Sanchez; son, Harold Sanchez Jr. and companion Victoria Gonzales; daughter, Marlena Sanchez and boyfriend Chris Trujillo; father, Arturo Sanchez; brother, Albert Sanchez and wife Yolanda, all of Chimayó; father and mother-in-law, Manuel C. and Ninfa Joan Montoya of Chimayó; special friend, Jimmy Valenzuela of Chimayó and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:45 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores cemetery in Chimayó

KENNETH A. SCOTT SR., 58, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M. to the late Jack A. Scott and Maria Louisa Montoya Sims. He graduated from Hatch High School. He entered the U.S. Army and his speciality was an auto mechanic. He was with the HHC First Signal Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1968. He was married in 1968 in Las Vegas, N.M. He was a mobile home transporter and a maintenance worker for Sims Trailer Park.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Scott of Las Vegas, N.M.; children, Loretta Ramirez and companion Michael Hurst and Kenneth A. Scott Jr. and companion Monica Bolivar, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; mother, Louise Sims of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, James Scott of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister, Jacqueline Anderson and husband David of Las Vegas, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with burial to follow with military honors at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Vegas, N.m.

VICENTE N. VIGIL, 20, of Ranchos de Taos died Friday.
He is survived by his parents, Stephanie Sanchez Madrid (and Roy) of Ranchos de Taos and Paul A. Vigil (and Tina Archuleta) of Arroyo Hondo; brothers and sisters, Andres Vigil, Katrina Madrid, Roy Madrid Jr. and Estrella Madrid; and many other relatives and friends.
