LILY McFADDEN DAVIS BRUNSON, 84, of Santa Fe died Tuesday.
She resided in Los Alamos for 23 years and lived in Santa Fe for the last 2 1/2 years. She was born in Blue Mountain, Miss. to Oma Grier and Mabel Boyd Davis and grew up in Louisiana. After graduating high school in Jennings at 16, she attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss., earning a teaching degree. Following several years of teaching, she attended Corcoran Art School in Washington, D.C. During World War II she worked in the Pentagon. In 1944, she married Lorenzo "Bub" Smith who was later killed in the war. While working at Princeton University she met Glenn Samuel Brunson Jr., a graduate student in physics. They were married in 1950, and after living in Albuquerque and Falls Church, Va., they settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho, raising six children together. She was active in the leadership of First Presbyterian Church where she established, conducted and arranged music for several choirs, including a bell choir. She was a prolific artist, producing works of oil painting, sculpture, stained glass and fabric banners. Her stained glass windows appear in Wasatch Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City and White Rock Presbyterian Church of Los Alamos, as well as many homes in Albuquerque. Her banners hang in many churches throughout the West. She was a compassionate, caring woman who never missed an opportunity to care for others in need.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Andrew, Samuel and Timothy Brunson; and daughters, Christie Brunson, Ellen Brunson-Newton and Candace Wagner; and 13 grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at White Rock Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Circle of Love, Santa Fe.

ADRIAN LUCERO-URIOSTE, 13, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Saturday.
Adrian "Papoose" Lucero-Urioste was born in Albuquerque to Charlene Lucero. He loved hunting, playing baseball, boxing and riding horses. He was an honor student in school and was loved dearly by his teachers and principal at the Family Partnership of West Las Vegas School. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
He is survived by his parents, Charlene and Carlos Urioste of Santa Fe; sisters, Lauren Armijo of Las Vegas, N.M. and Natasha Duran of Phoenix; best friends and cousin, Niko Berala and Rita Sena; and many other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state at the Rogers Chapel all day today. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow.

ROSALIE M. MAESTAS, 60, of Santa Fe died Friday after a battle with breast cancer.
She was born to Antonio and Lola Lopez in Las Vegas, N.M. She graduated from West Las Vegas High, attended Highlands University, and graduated from cosmetology school. She worked for the New Mexico State Hospital until she married Meliton Maestas in 1971 in Las Vegas, N.M. They moved to Santa Fe in 1974 where they raised their family. She worked various jobs once her children were older; her last employment was as a data processor for the state. She was also a volunteer at Bienvenidos.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Lopez.
She is survived by her husband, Meliton Maestas of Santa Fe; daughter, Christine M. Maestas of Rio Rancho; son, George A. Maestas and wife Melissa of Santa Fe; daughter, Elizabeth A. Roybal and husband Leonard of Rio Rancho; brothers, Larry Lopez and wife Gloria of Las Vegas, N.M., Anthony Lopez of Albuquerque and Dr. Joe Lopez and wife Mary Ann, all of Albuquerque; Dr. Robert Lopez and wife Judy of Las Cruces, and Steven Lopez of Idaho Falls, S.D.; sisters, Connie Martin and husband Bernie of Huntington Beach, Calif., Katherine Reilly and husband Tom of Highland Ranch, Colo., Lupe Lehman of Albuquerque and Theresa Lopez of Las Vegas, N.M.; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Santa Maria de la Paz. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

RAY C. MONTOYA, 29, of Vadito died Saturday.
He graduated from Peņasco High School.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Pacheco; and sister, Jaylene Montoya.
He is survived by his parents, Helen Romero and Adonias Montoya; brothers, David, Robert and Victor Romero; sisters, Lori Garcia, Juanita Montoya and husband Russell Lopez and Viviana Romero; close cousin, Tino Romero; and many other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. today with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Vadito Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Vadito Cemetery.

WILLIE S. ROMERO, 64, of Los Vigiles died Saturday at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in Albuquerque after a brief illness.
He was a retired mechanic for District Two of the New Mexico State Police. He graduated from Robertson High School and worked as an auto mechanic for Carmean Motors for 13 years. He then worked for Dennis Cars & Truck Sales for six years and spent the next 24 years as a mechanic for f the State Police, retiring in December of 2004. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #408 and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Delfinia Lopez Romero and brother, Leroy Romero.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the family home in Los Vigiles; son, Gilbert Romero and wife Belinda of Las Vigiles; two grandchildren; brothers, Alfonso Romero and wife Celsa of Albuquerque and Danny Romero and wife Eva of Los Vigiles; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Church with burial to follow in the Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery in Los Vigiles.

LIRIA M. TRUJILLO, 72, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Friday.
She was born in Ojo Feliz to the late Pedro Montoya and Isabelita Hernandez. She was married at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora in 1954 to Jose D. Trujillo. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved raising her family, cooking and gambling. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Pete Trujillo, George Trujillo and James Trujillo; brother, Bernie Montoya; mother and father-in-law: Alberto and Lucinita Trujillo; and many other relatives.
She is survived by her husband, Jose D. Trujillo of the family home; granddaughter whom she raised as her daughter, Debbie Archuleta and friend Adam Estrada; sons, Johnny Trujillo and wife Lillian of Las Vegas, N.M. and Joseph Trujillo and wife Clara of Tucumcari; daughters, Sinfer Archuleta and husband Manuel, Patsy Trujillo and John Cunningham and Shirley Trujillo all of Las Vegas, N.M.; ten grandchildren; brothers, Carlos Montoya and wife Maria Elena of Las Vegas, N.M. and Fermin Montoya and wife Sarah of Denver; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rufina Ortega of Las Tusas and Avelina Montoya and husband Manuel of Denver; Elvira Sena and husband Luis of Las Vegas, N.M., Rudolph Trujillo and wife Diane of San Leandro, Calif., Venancio Trujillo and wife Victoria of Las Tusas and Priscilla Montoya of California; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Church with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

BENJAMIN ALFONSO GABALDON "GABBY", 78, of Santa Fe died Sunday.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emilia Gabaldon; father, Gregorio Gabaldon; and brothers, Pedro, Santiago and Jose Gabaldon.
He was a well-known and published santero in New Mexico. His retablos were prized and highly sought after. He loved to tell stories and had a great sense of humor. He retired as a safety director with the city of Santa Fe in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Gabaldon; stepchildren, Timothy West and Sally Hook; sister, Flora Escudero and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. by La Union Protectiva at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.
