VIRGINIA A. STEENSGAARD, 85, of Taos died Feb. 22.
She was a former resident of Waterloo, Iowa. The Steengaards were proud members of the Masonic Temple.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Conway; and brother, Kenneth Conway.
She is survived by her husband, Jens R. Steensgaard; son, Gary Richard Steensgaard and wife Doris of Ruidoso; two grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Cremation arrangements have been made. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the following organizations: The Taos Feral Feline Friends, P.O. Box 1926, Ranchos de Taos, NM, 87557 or The Shriner's Hospital, 12545 Fee Fee Road, St. Louis, Mo., 63146.

NATASHA WILLIAMSON, 58, of Santa Fe died Feb. 21 of cancer.
She was born in Tulsa, Okla. She was a diverse and active person all her life. She was a professional dancer and choreographer, a theater producer, director and actress. She was also a painter, calligrapher, master gardener and flower show judge. She was an ardent scholar and teacher on many subjects and a historical archaeologist with the Office of Archaeological Studies. She received a massage therapy certificate from Dr. Jay Scherer, an associate's degree from Santa Fe Community College and a bachelor's degree fro the University of New Mexico in 2001. She was a school board president, president of the Las Jardineras garden club, a literacy volunteer, family services volunteer and Santa Fe Green Party co-chair. She enjoyed medieval and Civil War re-enacting.
She studied, practiced and taught earth-based spirituality and was a political activist for peace and sustainability. She was a loving wife and mother, an avid reader and gardener and a loyal friend who always had a hug, a hand to hold, a meal, bed or waterproof shoulder for those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Dorothy Bullard; father and Harrell McCullough; brother, J. T. Bullard
She is survived by her husband, Dean; daughter, Robin; two grandsons; brother, Joel Bullard; sister, Jan Davis and husband Bill; cousin, Leslie McCollum and husband Andrew; soul brothers and sisters, Charlotte and Scott Hamilton, Margye and Bob Damjanovich, Evelyn Bartee, Stephen Marr, Larry and Mimi Owens and Pearl JoAnne Moran; and many other relatives and friends.
A public memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 at the Unitarian Church on Barcelona Road, 982-9674.

GLENN CURTIS DECKER, 49, of Santa Fe died Monday.
He is survived by his parents, George and Arlene Decker; girlfriend, Evelyn Martinez; sisters, Glenda, Gayla, Gina and Brandee; and many other relatives and friends.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please join the family for the service and the reception immediately following the service at the VFW, 307 Montezuma St.

HELEN L. GUTIERREZ, 59, of Albuquerque and former resident of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday after a brief illness.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to the late Brijido Chavez and Dora Romero. She worked as a housekeeper at the University of New Mexico for 25 years, where she retired in 2001. She loved to play bingo. She attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Joey Crespin.
She is survived by her sons, Frankie C. Crespin and special friend George Zapata of Chandler, Ariz., and James Crespin of San Diego; three grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Jaramillo and husband Hilario, and Judy Carrillo and husband Ruben, all of Rio Rancho; brother, Paul Vigil and wife Merlinda of Las Vegas, Nev.; special friends, Mary Otero of Las Vegas, N.M., Elva Pena and Martha Bolivar, both of Albuquerque; father of her children, Johnny Crespin of Las Vegas, N.M.; former husband, Fernando Gutierrez of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the same church with burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, N.M. There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco in Albuquerque, for friends who are unable to attend the services in Las Vegas, N.M.

ANGELO T. KONTOS, 71, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday.
He was born to the late Gus Kontos and Anecita Sena.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Kontos of the family home in Las Vegas, N.M.; daughters, Diane Emerson and husband David of Arkansas and Angela Zuino of Chandler, Ariz.; son, Vic Kontos of Las Vegas, N.M.; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel at Nelson Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

ADELAIDA LUCERO, 94, of Buena Vista died Thursday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital.
She was born in La Cueva. She was raised on a farm and tended to chickens and her cows. She liked to visit with neighbors and loved to work in her huge garden. She worked in the bean and corn fields and grew them in her garden. Her hobby was taking care of kids. She was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Rita Sanchez Mares; husband, Eliseo Lucero; son, Jake Lucero; and daughter, Gloria Padilla.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Osuchowski of Buena Vista and Sandra Saiz and husband Julian of Williams, Ariz.; sons, Patricio Lucero and wife Naomi of Las Vegas, N.M., and Tony Lucero and wife Joyce of Fernley, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Gertrude's Church with burial to follow in the San Rafael Cemetery in La Cueva.

PATRICK L. ROMERO, 42, of Espaņola died unexpectedly Wednesday.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Romero and mother, Bessie Romero.
He was educated in the health-care field, becoming a registered nurse. His profession employed him in Los Alamos, Espaņola, Albuquerque and Las Vegas, N.M. He was an Espaņola Valley High School graduate and attended Northern New Mexico Community College.
He is survived by his father, Joe C. Romero and wife Lydia V. of Espaņola; sister, Patricia Lewis and husband Rick of Nevada; brother, Bryan Romero; close aunt, Ramona Vigil; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery.
