CORNELIO RENDON, 82, of Arroyo Seco died Friday.
He is survived by his brothers, Jose Rendon of Arroyo Seco and Sabino Rendon of Rio Rancho.
A service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Rivera Chapel. Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, 758-3841..

THOMAS SALAZAR, 64, of Sena died Friday, Feb. 25 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Salazar; mother, Filomena Salazar;and daughter, Lucille Salazar.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Salazar of the family home in Sena; daughters, Martha Gutierrez and husband, Frank, of Villanueva; Helen Gallegos and husband, David, of Moriarty, Diana Perea and husband, Oliver, of San Ysidro, and Valerie Salazar of Sena; son, Tommy Salazar and wife, Marina, of Sena; seven grandchildren; sisters, Benigna Romero of Romeroville, Pablita Trujillo and husband, Rubio, of Albuquerque, Esquipulita Encinias and husband, Casimiro, of Portales, and Deluvina Encinias of Moriarty; brothers, Petro Salazar and wife, Agnes; and Jimmy Salazar and wife, Patsy; all of Moriarty, and Armando Salazar and wife, Angela, of Aurora, Colo. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva with burial to follow at the Sena Cemetery. Nelson Funeral Home, 425-6551.

ANDALECIA TRUJILLO, 91, of Pojoaque died Sunday, Feb. 27. She was born in Sena to the late Celestino and Maria Archibeque. She made her home in Pojoaque when she married Luis Trujillo in 1935.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Trujillo; sons, David Trujillo and Jerry Trujillo and wife, Dorothy; and siblings, Carmen Tafoya, Antonio Archibeque and Ernesto (Tito) Archibeque.
She is survived by her children, Jose Clemente Trujillo and wife, Christine, and Alex Trujillo and wife, Martha; all of Pojoaque, Jim Trujillo and wife, Victoria, and Abie Trujillo and wife, Rosemary, all of Santa Fe, Luciano Trujillo and Arsenio Trujillo and wife, Norma; Clara DeMaria and husband; Michael; and George Trujillo, all of Nambé, Billy Trujillo and wife Maureen of Jacona, Geri Mannix and husband Danny of Arizona, Charlie Trujillo, and Ramon Trujillo and wife Sandra, all of La Mesilla; 27 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at the Pojoaque Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque. DeVargas Funeral Home of the Española Valley, 747-7477.

MARGARET "LALA" (LEYBA) VERDUSCO, 84, of died Thursday.
She was born in Cleveland, N.M., and lived in Guadalupita. During World War II, she moved to Los Angeles and in her later years she returned to Mora. Her last years were spent in Pueblo, Colo. She always was filled with laughter, jokes, funny faces, and hugs and kisses.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Juanita and Justo Pacheco; natural parents, Adolfo and Lucia (Trujillo) Leyba; and sisters, Laura, Jennie, Cleo and Senaida.
She is survived by her children, Cecila Martinez, Frances Luz Martinez and Alfonso Martinez; brothers, Melesandro and wife Gena Duran and Sergio and wife MariInes Duran; 14 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rogers Chapel, Las Vegas, N.M. with burial to follow at the Mora Cemetery. A reception will follow in Mora. Rogers Mortuary, Las Vegas, NM, 1(800)479-3511.

KAREN ELIZABETH WHITEHOUSE-HALL, 61, of Santa Fe and formerly of Los Alamos, died Jan. 19 in Arizona.
She was born in Allegheny County, Pa., to Ruth and Floyd Whitehouse. Her family moved to Tucson, Ariz. in 1956, where she spent her adolescent years. She was very active in high school and college. She loved dance and participated in several ballet and dance troupes in Tucson. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1965 with a B.S. in home economics education and from Colorado State University in 1970 with an M.HE. in consumer science and housing. She married Verne Loose in August, 1965. She excelled by finding ways to apply the principles of home economics to community wellness and nutrition. In Canada, she worked for Vancouver Health Department and for Health and Welfare Canada, teaching prenatal and infant nutrition in communities of the First Nation through the Indian Health Service program. From Canada, her family moved to New Mexico. She worked for the state and later for the Los Alamos National Laboratory. In her effort to cope with bi-polar disorder and associated physical limitations, she moved back to Arizona in 1996.
She is survived by her son Brice and wife Kim and one granddaughter; aunt, Betty; close friends, Carol, Butch, Janis and Geoff, Laura, and Consuelo; cat, Jasper; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at the Valley Presbyterian Church, Green Valley, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Nature Conservancy.

GREGORITA V. SANCHEZ, 94, of Dixon died Monday Feb. 28 after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eluid Sanchez; daughter, Lorraine Velarde; son, Salomon Sanchez; two grandchildren; parents, Juanita and Dolores Valdez; sisters, Beronis, Laura and Lucia; and brothers, Zacarias and Silas Valdez.
She is survived by her daughters, Lucille Martinez and husband Augustine of Albuquerque, Sadie Hanson and husband Allan of Edgewood, Eileen Olivas and husband Rosendo of Las Vegas, Nev., Gloria Gonzalez and husband Alberto, and Louella Reyes and husband Elizer, all of Moriarty; son, John Tony Sanchez and wife Lorraine of Dixon; sisters, Celina Sanchez, Alice Arellano and Rosa DeHerrera; brother, Ben Valdez; 17 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home with a devotional service to follow at 7 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Praise Temple in Apodaca with burial to follow at the Apostolic Cemetery in Apodaca.

ALEX EUGENE ORTIZ, 57, of Aurora died Tuesday at St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Aurora to the late Jerry Ortiz and Agneda Saiz. He loved horse racing, fishing, camping and hunting. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Agneda Ortiz. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Ortiz and wife, Debra; Leonard Ortiz and Jacob Ortiz and wife, Sylvia; all of Roswell; mother of his children, Darlene Ortiz of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; brothers, Roy Saiz of Albuquerque and Marcellino Ortiz of Los Lunas; sisters, Priscilla Solano and Patricia Loya and husband, Javier; all of Albuquerque, Geraldine Ortiz and Mary Ellen Ortiz, both of Los Lunas; special aunt, Margie Orozco; special uncle, Adonias Ortiz, both of Clovis; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 tonight at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the same church with burial to follow at the Ortiz Private Cemetery in Aurora.
