JESSE MICHAEL (JABBER) FELIX, 21, of Santa Fe died unexpectedly Saturday.
He was born in Santa Fe, the son of Philip (Pito) and Irene Felix. He was employed by First National Bank in Santa Fe. He enjoyed life and his friends, but most of all he loved his mom and dad.
He is survived by his parents and grandparents; best friends, Mikie Mendoza, Alex Perez and Estevan Montoya; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be donated to First National Bank c/o Philip Felix.
A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. today with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Santa Maria de La Paz. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

MAX A. MAEZ, JR., 73, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Friday.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M. to the late Max Maez, Sr. and Eliza Fernandez Maez. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Church in Springer. He was a gentleman as well as an exceptional cattleman. He owned and operated a cattle ranch in Sweetwater which had belonged to the Maez family for generations. He graduated from Springer High School in 1948 and received a bachelor of science degree from New Mexico Highlands University. He was an educator and coached volleyball, baseball and basketball, including winning several district championships. He taught for the New Mexico School for the Deaf, the Maxwell School District, the Springer School District, the Wagon Mound School District and was employed by the West Las Vegas School District. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Springer Electric Co-op for 28 years. He was appointed to the New Mexico Highway Commission by Gov. Bruce King. He served on the FHA Board and the Colfax County Fair Board Association. He loved team roping and was a lifetime member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the United States Team Roping Championships for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joel Maez; and daughter, Bunny Maez.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Seay-Maez; sons, Max Maez III of Santa Fe and Ramon Maez of Texline, Texas; daughter, Bernadette Foster of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; stepdaughters, Angel Gutierrez of the family home and Joselle DeMarco-Chandler and husband Jim Chandler; stepson, Ernie Montano; six step-grandchildren; special friends, Jimmy and Betsy Lovato; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held all day today at the Rogers Chapel until the rosary, to be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the same church. Following the Mass, family will receive family and friends at the VFW located on Mills Avenue. Cremation and Memorial services will be held at a later date.

JOEY A. MARTINEZ, 41, of Santo Niņo died Sunday following a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Martinez; and father, Fermin Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Martinez, of Santo Niņo; children, Contessa Salazar of El Llano, Elena Archuleta Martinez, Jerome Archuleta Martinez, Matthew Salazar Martinez, all of Santo Niņo; mother, Corinne Martinez of Santo Niņo; sisters, Yvonne Martinez and husband, Martin, of Albuquerque, Arlene Archuleta and husband, Adelmo, of Servilleta, Denise Ornelas and husband, Juan, of Espaņola, Nadine Martinez and husband, Jeremiah, of Fairview and Melissa Martinez of Santo Niņo; best friend, David Gonzales and wife, Annette, of Chamita; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Caņada with burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. JOSE ADOLFO MARTINEZ, 88, of Valdez died Sunday.
He is survived by his children, Joe Martinez and wife, Jenny, of Questa, Reynaldo Martinez and wife, Delicia, of Denver, Loyola Lucero and husband, Toby, of Albuquerque, Diane Sanchez of El Prado, Connie Cordova and husband, Mike, and Clarence Martinez and wife, Sandy, all of Valdez, Theresa Romero and husband Elizardo of Espaņola; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Rivera Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Valdez Catholic Church with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

CLEO J. MONTOYA, 85, of Chama died Thursday.
She was born in Chama. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Montoya; and parents, Vicente and Luicita Jaramillo.
She is survived by her children, Ben Montoya and wife, Mona, of Rio Rancho, Vincent J. Montoya, Prudy Jaramillo and husband, Roy, Ann Garcia and husband, Pete, Joseph Montoya and wife, Louana Prada, and Rosemarie Garcia, all of Santa Fe, Helen Garcia and husband, Roberto, of Plano, Texas, and Albert Montoya and wife, Cyndi, of Albuquerque; sister, Helen Gonzales; close granddaughters Melissa and Jessica Garcia; 21 grandchildren; special friend, Ernestina Carrillo; dogs, Peaches and Chopper; and many other relatives and friends.
Services have taken place with burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARIE PATRICIA ORTIZ-RISBERG, 50, of San Juan Pueblo died unexpectedly Friday. She was born in Santa Fe to Jose S. and Louise Patricia Ortiz.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her daughters, Renee S. Ortiz and Pacifica Azul Risberg; son, Theodore W. Risberg, III; three grandchildren; mother, Pat Ortiz; brother, Curtis and wife, Patricia A. Ortiz; and many other relatives and friends.

ISABEL O. ROMERO, 86, of Llano Quemado died Sunday. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlos Chavez; second husband, Alfred Romero Sr.; sons, Alfred Romero Jr. and Carlos Chavez; and brother, Candido Ortiz.
She is survived by her children, Frances Martinez and husband, Leonides, Ben and wife, Terre, Emos, Dillon and wife, Dina, Andrew and wife, Frances, Elefio and wife, Clara, Rick, Danny and Amos Chavez and Marbella Trujillo and husband Michael; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Llano Quemado Capilla. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at San Francisco de Asis Church in Ranchos de Taos with burial to follow at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.
