ADELINE PATRICIA (PAT) SMITH, 81, of Los Alamos died suddenly Friday.
She was born in Detroit to the late Ernest and Jane Bodkins. She was employed at the Zia Company in Los Alamos from 1975-1985. She was devoted to her family and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed her kid's games, school functions and other activities. She enjoyed relaxing at their Heron Lake home, crafting and casino visits. She shared a love of animals with her kids and each pet became a special member of the family. One of the highlights of her Zia Company career was her friendship with her beloved "Lunch Bunch," a friendship that would continue for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Candy Bradley, Dottie MacVeigh and husband Bill, Holly Smith and Sally Ballard and husband Tony; son, Ernie Smith and wife Judy; ten grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at noon today with a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service followed by burial at Guaje Pines Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Leukemia Society, 1421E 12 Mile Rd # A, Madison Heights MI 48071.

MARY M. BRANSFORD, 87, of Santa Fe died Tuesday after a long illness.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or St. John the Baptist Catholic soup kitchen.

MARGARET CARTER, 75, of White Rock died April 14.
She was a remarkable local public health nurse whose career spanned work with American Indians in the Southwest starting in the early 1950s to AIDS orphans in Ethiopia in the 1990s. She was a fearless world traveler and a devout Catholic. Her indomitable spirit ultimately led her to meet and work with Mother Theresa in India, Nepal and Ethiopia.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Edwina Barvosa-Carter; and many other relatives and friends.
Her estate will establish a nursing scholarship at Catholic University to continue to train nuns in modern, compassionate health-care techniques. Donations in her memory can be made to the Margaret Ann Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Los Alamos National Bank.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Alamos.

THE REV. ROBERT HUDSON DINEGAR, 83, of Santa Fe died April 21, 2005, at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born in New York City. He graduated from Trinity School in 1939 and Cornell University, with a major in chemistry, in 1942. He was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1942 and graduated from New York University in 1943 as a meteorologist. During World War II, he served with the 7th Fleet ("McArthur's Navy") in the Southwest Pacific. He retired from the active Naval Reserve with the rank of commander in 1975. After the war, he attended Columbia University in New York City and received his master's degree in 1947 and a doctorate in physical chemistry in 1951. He joined the staff of the Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1950 in Group GMX-7 and retired from the lab in 1987. He published 25 papers in the open scientific literature and was the holder of two patents. He was an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos beginning in 1970 and rose to the positions of division head for science and technology and interim associate director of instruction. He had a third career as a priest in the Episcopal Church. He was ordained in 1959 and served as the curate and associate rector of Trinity-on-the-Hill Episcopal Church until his retirement in 1984. He was also priest-in-charge of St. Peter's Chapel in White Rock from 1964-68, the first organized church group in that area. He received a theological degree from the College of Santa Fe in 1976. In 1991, he joined the staff of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Faith in Santa Fe. He was married in 1942 to Ann Elizabeth Knolle, who was deputy county clerk of Los Alamos County from 1964 until her death in 1980.
He is survived by his children, Dr. Janice A. Boyd of Slidell, La., Barbara H. Menicucci and husband David of Albuquerque, and Robert W. L. and wife Kay of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren; wife, Elaine Coleman of Santa Fe; brother, Lt. Col. W.W. Dinegar, USMC (Ret.); sister, Dr. Caroline A. Dinegar; and many other relatives and friends.
He was a longtime supporter of two funds at Trinity School in the class of 1939 in New York City— the Bruner-Smith Scholarship Fund (in honor of his favorite English teacher) and the Distinguished Teacher Award. In lieu of flowers, the family requests individuals make charitable donations to either or both of these funds in his honor at Trinity School, 139 W. 91st Street, New York, NY, 10024-1399.
A memorial Eucharist will be held at 2 p.m. April 27 at The Church of the Holy Faith, 311 E. Palace Ave.

ANNA HELEN ANNE GAUTHIER, 106, of Santa Fe died after a short illness.
She was born Anna Domaleski to the late Felix Domaleski and Alexandra Karpowicz. She was a clear-headed, in-the-present individual concerned with family and friends. She was an employee in the engineering and research division of RCA in Harrison, N.J., before becoming a spot welder during World War II. She was then the proprietor of Gauthier Engineering Company in Bergenfield, N.J., and was co-owner and manager of a hardware store until her retirement in 1971. She was very active in her church. She was a member of the Parents Guild of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and School in Bergenfield, N.J., from 1945-1954. She was a member of the Altar Committee from 1941-1971. She was a member of the Wives Guild to Knights of Columbus at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Bergenfield, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Gauthier; three brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Joseph of Santa Fe; close nephew, John Szymanski; friends, Richard Viano, Kevin Dalton, and Robert Marquis; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial luncheon will be held at a later date.

AGAPITA HELEN MAES, 88, a lifetime resident of the Pecos area, died April 21, 2005, at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe following a brief illness.
She was born in Santa Fe to the late Eustacio Roybal and Soledad Ulibarri. She was united in marriage to Catalino Maes. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Pecos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eustacio and Soledad Roybal; husband, Catalino Maes; sons, Silviano Maes, Fermin Maes, Fernando Maes, Manuel Maes, Pancho Maes and Cruz Maes; and brother, Edmundo Roybal.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, Gonzalo Maes and wife Tina of Grants, Agapito Maes and wife Lucille of Pecos, Edward Maes of Española, Gloria Breidenbach and husband John of Canon City, Colo., Charlotte Maes, Freddy Maes, and Benji Maes and wife Myra, all of Glorieta, Johnny Maes and wife Shirley and Lorraine Allen, all of Colorado, Lourdes Gonzales and husband Jimmy of Arizona; 34 grandchildren; brothers, Julian Roybal and wife Rufina of Glorieta, and Willie Roybal and wife Susie of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. April 23 at St. Anthony's Church in Pecos with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Pecos.
