RAMON N. MONTOYA, 77, of Santa Fe died Friday following a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy A. Montoya.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana M. Montoya; sons, Richard A. Montoya and wife Kathy and Elmer P. Montoya; one granddaughter; two grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

RAYMOND ORTEGA, 45, of Chimayó died Saturday.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Beroniz Ortega; grandfather, Eliseo Ortega; and sister, Racheal Lopez.

A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos with a devotional service to be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at the El Templo Bautista Cemetery in Chimayó.

RONALD T. PATRICK, 71, of Pecos died Thursday following a long battle with lung disease.
He was born in Hawaii, the son of Jack and Carman Patrick. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for the Forest Service for several years. He served in Korea and was a Merchant Marine since the age of 15. He loved all sports with a passion and enjoyed his second home in Belize, Central America, where he loved to fish.
He is survived by his sons, Ron Patrick Jr. and Robert Patrick; daughter, Alayne Patrick; life-long companion, Windy Nichols; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

ERACLIO L. VIGIL, 61, a lifelong resident of La Sacotosa in San Miguel County died Saturday following a long illness.

JAIRO DE JESUS GUTIERREZ, 30, of Santa Fe died unexpectedly April 18.
He was born in New York City, the son of Mary M. Burchard. He was raised in California and Mexico, but considered himself, and was considered to be, a Santa Fean. He left Santa Fe for Chicago in his early 20s. There he fostered strong friendships, which allowed him to expand his interests in art, music, and in particular photography. He was fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel the world and develop his talent as a photographer and observer. After documenting his travels to Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Australia, Europe and Africa, he had begun to compile his work with the intention of organizing an exhibition and publishing project, the proceeds of which were to be donated to Parkinson's disease research. He was genuine and honest. He was respectful and trusting. He was a loyal and loving son and a true and giving friend.
He is survived by his mother; goddaughter, Valencya Estrella Valdez; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church.

CRAIL F. HAMMOND, 61, of Santa Fe died April 18.
He was born to Crail F. and Ann Hammond in Albuquerque. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1961 and later graduated from the College of Santa Fe. He served his country in the U.S. Army for three years. He retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he was a chemical technician. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and fossil hunting.
He is survived by his brother Ronald L. Hammond.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McGee Memorial Chapel with a burial to follow at 3 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

JAMES 'JIM' ROBERT LAIRD JR., 62, died Friday.
He was born in Pensacola, Fla. He was an educator for 25 years. He worked in the public school systems in Florida, Wyoming, and New Mexico, and for the Santa Fe Indian School. He was historian for the state of Wyoming, and also worked as a consultant for the visually impaired. After retirement, he was owner of Laird's Western Americana.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Laird, Sr., and brother, Larry Laird.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Laird; and mother, Mildred Laird of Pensacola, Fla.
