PAUL PACHECO, JR, 69, of Santa Fe died Friday.
A lifelong resident of Santa Fe, he was born to Isabel Rael Pacheco and Paul Pacheco, Sr. He worked as a meat cutter for many years helping to run the family business, the historic Pacheco's Meat Market on Galisteo Street along with his father and six brothers. He enjoyed the sport of boxing and in his younger years was a Golden Gloves boxer.
He was preceded in death by his father; sisters, Josie and Tessie; and brothers, Orlando (Boboy) and Patrick (Bito).
He is survived by his mother, Isabel Rael Pacheco; children, Paul Arthur III, Martha, Sandy, Georgia and husband Jimmy, Joseph, Loretta and husband Rey, Charlotte, Theresa, Joyce, Johnny and wife Francine, Josephine Paula, and Patrick; sister, Angie and husband Danny; brothers, Paul, Eddie and wife Josie, Albert, Frank (Pancho) and wife JoAnne, and Leo; 18 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

MELAQUIAS ROMERO, 95, of Cordova died Sunday after a long illness.
He was a rancher for many years and loved to race horses. He was in the movie "The Milagro Bean Field War". He would always tell his family that he was going to look for a gold mine. He loved attending the Presbyterian Church and being involved with the senior citizens in Truchas. He worked in California and Wyoming for the railroad as well as the shipyards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donaciano and Eulalia Romero; and brothers and sisters, Carlos Romero, Rafelita Montoya, Josephita Cordova and Elvira Romero.
He is survived by his sister, Floraida Romero and husband Alfredo Jr.; and daughter, Lola Sandoval, all of Cordova; special nephews and nieces, Uvaldo and Ramon Cordova, both of Cordova, Lucy Sherwood and husband Jesse, and Helen Duran, all of Albuquerque, Dora Romero and companion Michael Duran, Patty Martinez and husband Joe of Chimayó and Carol Salazar and husband Peter, all of Española; great-nephews raised by him, Roger Romero and girlfriend, Julia of Cordova and Ricky Romero and wife Debra of Bernalillo; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Cordova.

ARSENIO "ARCHIE" SAIZ, 79, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Sunday at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe after a long illness.
He was born in Villanueva to the late Pablo Saiz and Petrita Galvan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the invasion of Normandy. He retired from the New Mexico Transportation Department where he was employed as a custodian. He was a former employee of Shilling Law Fuel Company and Doxol Gas Company. He loved to fish, hunt, and play basketball with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Petrita Saiz; two sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his son, Manuel Saiz, Sr., and wife Jane of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, Pedro Saiz of Lancaster, Calif.; three grandchildren; mother of his son, Mary Koteen; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Sante Fe National Cemetery.

SACARIAS S. AND JOANN SANCHEZ of Ensenada died Saturday following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Soraida Cordova; he was preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio and Alejandrina Sanchez; brothers, Ramon Sanchez and Joe V. Lovato; and sister, Bennie Archuleta.
They are survived by their children, Raymond Sanchez of Ensenada, Delora Manzanares and husband Robert, both of Ensenada and Tanya Mercure and husband Eugene of Plaza Blanca; two grandchildren; her father, Joe B. Cordova; her brother, Ben Cordova and wife Monica, all of Ensenada; his brothers, Roy Sanchez and wife Carmen of Albuquerque and Desiderio Sanchez and wife Joyce of Cebolla; his sisters, Lupe Bustos and husband Orlando of Las Cruces, Emma Maez and husband Vince of Española, Lydia Carbajal of Los Lunas, Willie Nelson of Utah, Nelda Cordova of Ensenada, Joyce Langhorst of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at the Ensenada Cemetery.

JOSE NERIO MARTINEZ, 83, of Cleveland, N.M., died Aug. 17, 2005, after a long illness.
He was born in Cleveland, N.M., to the late Jose Luz Martinez and Maria Nieves Zamora. He was united in marriage to Rosa Romero at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora on July 19, 1971. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a private first class during World War II with Company F, 407th Infantry. He retired from the state Highway Department, where he was employed as a highway maintenance worker for 15 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Luz and Maria Nieves Martinez; brothers, Cayetano Martinez, Abenicio Martinez, Eugenio Martinez, Alejandro Martinez, Philadelfio Martinez and Luis Zamora; and sister, Eulalia Romero.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Martinez of Cleveland, N.M.; daughters, Josephine "JoJo" D. Martinez of Cleveland, N.M., Julie Trambley and husband Frank L. of Mora, Angela Salazar and husband Marc of Albuquerque, Tonie Trujillo and husband Fidel of Ledoux, Mary Helen Casados and husband Frank of San Jose, Calif., Marcy Bustos and husband Ben of Cleveland, N.M., and Rosalia Padilla and husband Augustine of Cleveland, N.M.; sister, Maria Ruben Bonney of Cleveland, N.M.; brothers, Pat Martinez and wife Mary of Holman and David Martinez of Grand Junction, Colo.; 21 grandchildren; special friends, Visty Curry, Judy Silva and Jesus Montano; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at the same church with burial to follow at the San Antonio Cemetery in Cleveland, N.M.

DANIEL DURAN, 54, of Questa died Aug. 24.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Emilia Duran; sister, Marcella Duran; and brothers, Nilo, Arthur and Sammy Duran.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Orlinda Garcia, Annadella Cisneros, Cici Romo (Pat), and Maurcie Duran (Dorothy).

HUGH M. LIVINGSTON, 67, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Aug. 24.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to the late William Carl Livingston and Ramoncita Gonzales. He was united in marriage to Aurelia Martinez-Livingston on Aug. 27, 1960 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M. He was employed as a vocational rehab counselor at the State of New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehab, where he retired in 1994 after 25 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and reading. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Livingston and Ramoncita Gonzales Rivera; and sister, Mary Jane Lovato.
He is survived by his wife, Aurelia M. Livingston; son, Mark Livingston, both of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughter, Rebecca L. Livingston and friend Eddie Moreno of Clovis; sponsored daughter, Maria Elena Garcia Villanueva of Cuernavaca, Mexico; one granddaughter; brother, Manuel Rivera and wife Mary Elva of Los Alamos; sisters, Pauline Gonzales and Mary C de Baca, both of Las Vegas, N.M.; special nephews, Carl Livingston and wife Carolyn of Reserve; Michael Gonzales and friend Paula of Las Vegas, N.M.; Patrick Trujillo of Albuquerque, William Romero of Springer, Ronnie Romero of Cerillos; special nieces, Louise C de Baca of Las Vegas, N.M., Patricia Trujillo of Albuquerque, and Clara Romero of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held all day Aug. 26 until 6:30 p.m. at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at the same church with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
