TERESA O. MARTINEZ, 39, of Lower San Pedro, originally of Chimayó, died Sept. 1 after a battle with cancer.
She was a renowned Spanish Market artist. She was also a cosmetologist, most recently at Becky's Hair Salon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cayetano and Viola Ortiz. She is survived by her husband, Marvin L. Martinez of San Pedro; sisters, Cecilia M. Ortiz and Roberta A. Ortiz, both of Chimayó; father and mother in-law, Celso and Corrine Martinez of San Pedro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlo R. Martinez and wife, Valerie of San Pedro, Marcella Velasquez and husband Tomas of Los Lunas, Mark Martinez of San Pedro and Margaret Martinez of Albuquerque; special friends, Melissa Martinez of Arizona and LaVerne O. Ortega of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó with burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz. ISAAC RAEL, 92, of Santa Fe died unexpectedly Aug. 31.
He was an active member of the Guadalupe Catholic Church, member of the Union Protectiva— St. John's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nick Rael Sr.; parents, Antonio and Ramoncita Rael; sister, Margie Vigil; and brothers, Esequiel and Joe Rael.
He is survived by his wife, Isidora Rael; daughter, Rosalee Contreras and husband Robert of Santa Fe; four grandchildren; sisters, Isabel Pacheco, and Consuelo Sandoval and husband Fred, all of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.
Donations can be made to the Carmelite Monastery.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at the same church. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARY FRANCES ROYBAL, 76, of Fairview died Sept. 1 after a long illness.
She was a dedicated volunteer of the Hospital Auxiliary. She cherished her family and friends and was best known for having a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh. She never missed an opportunity to crack a joke as she loved life, laughter and joking. She enjoyed a passion for gardening, fishing, playing cards and baking. She was a loving, thoughtful and compassionate person who never forgot a birthday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Carlotta Herrera; sons, Anthony and David Lorenzo; brothers, Belarmino, Arthur, Phillip and Eloy Herrera; and sister, Rosina Martinez.
She is survived by her husband of over 24 years, Antonio M. Roybal of Fairview; sons, Joseph Lorenzo of Colorado, John Lorenzo of California, Charles "Jay" Lorenzo, Michael Lorenzo and wife Nancy and Phillip Lorenzo, all of Colorado; stepchildren, Lourdes Nevarez of Colorado, David Roybal and wife Elizabeth of Jemez Springs and Bernadette Naranjo and husband Albert of Arroyo Seco; brother, Mike Herrera of California; and sisters, Evelyn Martinez and Gloria Martin of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 6 at the same church with burial to follow at a time pending at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

DELFINA S. SANDOVAL, 87, of Ranchos de Taos, died Sept. 1.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Sandoval and daughter, Rebecca Fiore.
She is survived by her sister, Claudina Macias; children, Evangeline Thompson (Robert), Connie Roth (Ron), Susana Hand (David), Josephine Prince, Amanda Brisko (Barry) and Tony Sandoval (Melody); 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 with burial to follow at Jesus Nazareno Cemetery.

JUANITA ZAMORA, 74, of San Isidro Norte died Aug. 31 after a long illness.
She was born in San Isidro. She was a member of the San Isidro Labrador Church and spent most of her life raising children in the San Isidro Norte area.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Moises and Martina Zamora; parents, Carmel and Teofila Aragon; sister, Annie Olivas; and brother, Estevan Gonzales and Melisandro Gonzales.
She is survived by her sister, Lucille Celina Gurule and husband Ramon of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, Antonio Aragon of San Isidro Norte; children whom she raised, Shirley Sandoval and husband Mike, Patrick Sandoval and wife Deanna, Del Gonzales, Angelo Aragon, Luis Gonzales and wife Yolanda, Miriah Sandoval, Leroy Gonzales and wife Patsy, Augustine Gonzales and wife Angela, Eddie Gonzales, and Rose Gonzales and husband Isidoro, all of San Isidro Norte, Melissa and Leonard Aragon, both of Albuquerque, Annabelle Lattimore and husband Bruce, Christina, and Alicia Lattimore, all of Wasillia, Alaska, Consuelo Gonzales and fiancé Pedro of Denver; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 3 at the San Isidro Labrador Church in San Isidro Norte with burial to follow in the San Isidro Norte Cemetery.

VICTORIA LEE BYARS, 47, of Taos, formerly of Cerro, died Sept. 10, 2005. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Louis B. Gomez. She is survived by her daughter, Dion C. Gallegos Locke (Kurt) of Albuquerque; sons, Daniel Johnathon Martinez of Albuquerque and Julian Romero of Taos; mother, Kathleen A. Gomez of Cerro; one grandson; brother, Joe Richard Gomez (Isabel); sister, Louann Bridges; and many other relatives and many friends. MARIA RITA M. GUTIERREZ, 83, of El Guache died Sept.12, 2005, after a long illness. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to entertain and was a great cook. She belonged to the Yucca Woman's Club and was a member of the Lions Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacobo and Beatriz Martinez; daughter, Beatrice Lopez; brothers, Fred, Jubencio, and Jose Martinez; and sister, Sister Martina. She is survived by her husband, Garfield Gutierrez of El Guache; son, Joseph Lopez of El Guache; sisters, Corine Gallegos of Las Vegas, N.M., and Mary Glover of Denver; brother, Frank Martinez of Denver; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A public visitation will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. today at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel in DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. EDWARD "SONNY" LEE III, 43, of Santa Fe died suddenly Sept. 11, 2005. Edward graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1980 and attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colo. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps and was the No. 1 expert marksman out of 300 in his company. He was also trained in helicopter jet engine mechanics and received top honors in his class. After his discharge, he worked in Durango and Santa Fe as a master plumber. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved all sports. He is survived by his mother, Dolores Lee-Burciaga; father, Edward H. Lee Natay; wife, Suzanne; brother, Gerald Lee and wife Angela; close niece, Mary Margaret Lee; special nephews, Gerald Lee, Jr. and Gabriel Thomas Lee; close cousins, Shanna Bock and husband Jimmy, Carmen Briseno and husband Richard, Michelle Clark and husband David; relatives and friends at Santo Domingo Pueblo and the Navajo Nation, Ariz.; and many other relatives and friends.
