ELOY (CHAROOGA) MAES, 60, of Santa Fe died Sept. 11, 2005. Eloy worked in many facets of construction and did them well. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He enjoyed helping others and donated time at the boys and girls club. He served in the U.S. Navy and also served in Vietnam. CHRISTOPHER GEORGE JOSEPH MARTINEZ, 45, of Cuarteles died unexpectedly Sept. 11, 2005. Chris was skilled in many trades including carpentry and fence building. He lived and worked in Las Cruces, Farmington and Denver. He was very outgoing and was loved by all who knew him. ANTHONY "TONY" MIRANDA, 24, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sept. 10, 2005. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was well-known in the community. He worked as a waiter in numerous restaurants. He was currently employed at Charlie's Spic and Span Restaurant, where he worked as a waiter. He graduated from Robertson High School and was involved in the MECHA program. He attended New Mexico Highlands University and also worked at the Plaza Hotel and was the manager of the kitchen crew for a few years. His hobbies included riding his horse, fishing and collecting all kinds of things, especially animals. PATRICIO M. ULIBARRI, 88, of El Pueblo died Sept. 11, 2005. Pat served in the U.S. Army/Air Corps during World War II in Italy and Germany. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, Eagles, American Legion, GI Forum, LULAC and VFW, and served on the board of directors for Santa Fe Jobs for Progress. CASIMIRO CASADOS, 85, of Chamisal died Sept. 12, 2005, after a long illness.
He was a member of the American Legion, a World War II veteran, was a member of the 51st Combat Civil Engineering Battalion, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence H. Casados.

BESSIE R. MARTINEZ, 55, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sept. 13, 2005, at the Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to the late Benjamin Duran and Mary Alice Thomas. She was united in marriage on July 1987 in Las Vegas, N.M., to Louie Pedro Martinez. She retired in 1996 from Las Vegas City Schools, where she was employed for 25 years as cook. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed traveling and baking. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Alice Duran; infant daughter, Tomasita Martinez; sister, Eva Cordova; and adopted parents, Emilio and Tomasita Guerin.
She is survived by her husband, Louie Pedro Martinez of Las Vegas, N.M.; stepsons, Louie Martinez Jr. of Denver and Anthony Martinez of Pueblo, Colo.; stepdaughter, Susan Martinez and daughter Louise of Albuquerque; brother, Charles Thomas and wife Mabel of Belen; sisters, Helen Atwood and companion Steve Cordova of Vernal, Nev., Carmen Martinez and husband Lloyd of Tucson and Julia Abeyta and husband Lloyd of Las Vegas, N.M.; special friends, Helen Lucero and Sandra Cordova; and many other relatives and friends.

ADELINA M. SANDOVAL, 81, of Ruidoso Downs died Sept. 13, 2005.
Formerly of Chimayó, Adelina was a school teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School and the Española Public Schools for 17 years. When she moved to Ruidoso, she was a hospital auxiliary and Garden Club member. She was a great cook and seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben J. Sandoval; son, Gerald Sandoval; parents, Bonifacio and Epifania Martinez; and brothers, Celedonio Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Gracino Martinez.
She is survived by her daughters, Chris Farrington and husband Galen of Ruidoso, Evelyn Jacquez and husband Gene of La Mesilla; four grandchildren; brother, Cas Martinez and wife Petra of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Rose Fontenot and husband Ray of Jacksonville, and Susan Dennison and husband Glenn of Reno, Nev.; and many other relatives and friends.
