YVONNE M. STARAS
Yvonne M. Staras, 64, of Tajique passed away March 7, 2006 at home.
Yvonne was born Nov. 11, 1941, to Edward and Madonna (Wiwi) Staras. Yvonne moved to New Mexico 19 years ago, coming from Arizona. Yvonne enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Walnoha and Georgette Aanerudm; and her companion, Harold Staley.
Her parents, Edward and Madonna Staras, preceded her in death.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

SAMUEL HAMLIN OSGOOD III
Samuel Hamlin Osgood III, 75, of Sandia Park passed away April 9, 2006 in Albuquerque with his loving family beside him.
Samuel was born July 29, 1930, in Greeley, Colo., to Samuel Hamlin Osgood II and Ruby Marie (Dahl) Osgood. Samuel worked as a carpenter for a construction group.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Mary Osgood of Sandia Park; sons, Richard Hamlin Osgood and Marie Anthony of San Diego, Calif., and Christopher Hamlin and wife Michelle Osgood of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Jean Rene and husband Tom Arnalod of Albuquerque; and a brother, James Hamlin Osgood.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ruby Osgood.
Samuel will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend. All that knew Samuel will greatly miss him.
Burial will take place today at 11 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

IRENE FORBES
Irene Forbes, 83, of Albuquerque passed away March 21, 2006 in Albuquerque with her loving family beside her.
Irene was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Brandon, Minn., to Alfred Nylander and Mabel Peterson. Irene worked as a registered nurse. She was also a member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque.
Irene is survived by her son, Dale M. Forbes of Mountainair; her grandchildren, Naomi Argaez and Carlos Jojola, Kenneth Argaez and Charity Griego, Jennifer Argaez and Mark Larremore, Patricia Argaez, Josephine Argaez, Katherine Forbes and Virginia Forbes; her great-grandchildren, Randee Larremore, Vanessa Lopez, Anthony Maestas, Jolten Larremore, Rhea Jojola, Miguel Vigil, Mateo Griego, Victoria Serrano, Kaila Argaez-Griego and Caeden Jojola; her nephew, David and wife, Charlene Nylander; and her niece, Karen and husband, Tom Thennes.
Memorial services for Irene were held at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Mountainair on Friday.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Mountainair.

ROSALIE JANE GIBBS
Rosalie Jane Gibbs, 70, a longtime resident of New Mexico, passed away March 19, 2006.
Rosalie is survived by her five children, Greg Brenholdt and wife, Michelle of San Diego, Calif., Julianna LaBouliere and husband, John, of Menomonie, Wis., Jeff Brenholdt of Albuquerque, Jim Brenholdt and wife, Nita, of Albuquerque, and Gary Brenholdt and wife, Ramona, of Bosque Farms; 14 grandchildren; brothers, David and Larry Gibbs of Iowa; and four nieces and nephews.
A celebration of praise and worship was held Friday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cedar Crest with Pastor Devon Woodyard officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

WALTER W. APPEL
Walter W. Appel of Mountainair passed away Feb. 25, 2006.
He is survived by his wife and daughter. He "lived life his way."

RICHARD P. SUTTON
Richard P. Sutton, 81, of Moriarty passed away March 22, 2006 in Albuquerque with his loving family beside him.
Richard was born Jan. 9, 1924, in White Plans, N.Y. Richard worked as a guard at CCA in Estancia. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Estancia Branch.
Richard is survived by his sons, Charles H. Hood and wife, Shirley, Stephen Gray, Richard Sutton Jr. and Kelly Gray; daughters, Mercedes Sutton and Patricia Sutton; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Estancia with President Virgil Higgins presiding.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

THOMAS LUTHER CRAIG
Thomas Luther Craig, 83, of McIntosh passed away March 25, 2006 in Albuquerque with his loving family beside him.
Thomas was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Marceline, Mo., to Thomas Arnold Craig and Evelyn Marie Mote. Richard retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of service. Richard was active with Boy Scouts, played city baseball for 25 years and was an avid fisherman. Thomas is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Estancia Branch.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Dennis Craig and Thomas Craig of North Carolina, Cory Craig and Larry Craig of McIntosh, Matthew McCune of Texas and Robert McCune of Missouri; daughters, Barbara Esterbrook and Susan Heathman of Missouri, Terri Petty of Kansas and Colleen McCune of Florida; sister, Margie Franklin of Missouri; 31 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Liberty, Mo. A funeral service was held Wednesday in Estancia at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with President Leon Kessinger presiding.

GRACE SOPHIA MILLER KERR
Grace Sophia Miller Kerr, 89, of Moriarty passed away March 26, 2006 in Moriarty with her loving family beside her.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Nancy Lee Kerr Canfield and Sally Ann Kerr Teasdale of Moriarty and Faye Matilda Kerr Diehl and husband, Mark, of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Lucille Miller Blicha and Mary Miller McWithey; one brother, Lewis Miller; six loving grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Anna Miller from Butler, Pa.; five sisters; and two brothers.
Grace lived for over 35 years in Meadville, Pa. She was the primary chef for the family business of Kerr's town and country restaurant. After taking up residence with her daughter Sally in Moriarty, Grace was an active member of the Torrance County Extension and Garden Club. Grace loved needlepointing and won numerous awards at the Torrance County Fair. A lover of animals and birds, Grace helped her daughter Sally with animal rescues.
Cremation has taken place. A small memorial service was held at her home in Moriarty on Wednesday.
The family wishes to extend a deep appreciation and gratitude to Zia Hospice for her excellent care. All that knew and loved Grace will miss her.
