VIOLA TAYLOR FOLK
Viola Taylor Folk, 75, of Moriarty passed away Feb. 20, 2006 at her home with her loving family beside her.
Viola was born July 24, 1930, in Groundhog, N.M. She married Elmer Yates Folk on Dec. 25, 1948, in Bayard, N.M. Viola was the most beautiful girl, a homemaker and a loving wife.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Elmer. She was his best friend, partner and love of his life. Viola is also survived by her sons, E. Yates Folk Jr. and wife Mercerdees of Anthony, Texas, Jack DeVant Folk and wife Kate of China Lake, Calif., and Timothy Lee Folk; daughter, Sylvia Jean Folk of Moriarty; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bassett and her extended family of Italy; brother, Wilber Taylor and wife Harriett of Las Cruces; sister, Ernestine Swanson of Silver City; grandsons, Tim, Rusty, and Trevor; granddaughter, Jaime; and great-grandchild, Chloe.
Viola was preceded in death by her father, Ernest; her mother, Florence; her stepfather, Charles DeVant Cole; brother, James Taylor; uncle, Buster; and grandfather Bobo. Viola will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

JOE WARD PETROSS
Joe Ward Petross, 83, of Claunch passed away Feb. 6, 2006 at home.
He was born March 15, 1922, in Gran Quivira to Willie and Mary (Stacy) Petross. He was a lifelong resident of Claunch, on the ranch his parents homesteaded. He married Neva Brown on Oct. 24, 1941, in Carrizozo. Joe and Neva ran their ranch, and Joe worked on the Harvey Ranch for 33 years. He was a true cowboy. Neva preceded Joe in death on Jan. 30, 1997, after 56 years of marriage.
Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. All that knew and loved Joe will miss him.
He is survived by his brother, R.M. Petross of Whitewater, Colo.; an aunt, Jewel Petross of Weiser, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and many friends.
His parents, Willie and Mary Petross; and a sister, Mildred Ellen Petross-Montgomery, preceded him in death.
A funeral was held Friday at the Claunch Community Church in Claunch with Pastor Vernon Wells officiating. Interment was at the Claunch Cemetery.

ANDRES JARAMILLO
Andres Jaramillo, 83, of McIntosh passed away Feb. 9, 2006 in Albuquerque with his loving family beside him.
Andy was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Brownsville, Texas, to Evaristo and Guadalupe (Villafana) Jaramillo. Andy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Andy moved to New Mexico three years ago from California to be near his family.
Andy is survived by his daughters, Josephine J. Dominguez and husband Eloy of New Mexico, Anita Lopez of Arizona, and Amy Snyder of Virginia; brothers, Victor Jaramillo and wife Terry, Evaristo Jaramillo and Richard Jaramillo; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo and Guadalupe Jaramillo; and a son, Andres Jaramillo Jr.
Andy will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. All that knew and loved him will miss Andy.
Interment took place Monday at 10 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

EDWARD M. GARCIA
Edward M. Garcia, 52, of Willard passed away Feb. 13, 2006 in Albuquerque.
Edward was born Oct. 14, 1953, in Clovis to Rafael and Dulcinia (Marez) Garcia. Edward was a published poet and accomplished guitarist who excelled in gymnastics in school and was on the Dean's List while attending Clovis Community College.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Melissa, of Portales; father, Rafael Garcia of Willard; brothers, Ambrosio Garcia and wife Maggie of Albuquerque, Ernest Garcia of Albuquerque, and Albert Padilla and wife Brenda of Estancia; sister, Lucinda Padilla and husband George of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Abelito, Seth, Ian and T.J.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
His mother, Dulcinia Garcia, preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2004.
Edward will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard with Father Ron Stone officiating.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

WILBUR LESLIE JARVIS
Wilbur Leslie Jarvis III, 83, of Albuquerque passed away Jan. 31, 2006 at home.
Wilbur was born Oct. 20, 1922, in El Dorado, Kan., to Wilbur Leslie Jarvis Jr. and Marjorie Herring (Dalton) Jarvis. Wilbur proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of first lieutenant. Wilbur was a pilot of a twin-engine fighter during World War II. He was a prisoner of war from Sept. 27, 1944, until May 1, 1945. Wilbur was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.
Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Parkinson and husband Robin of New York; a son, Jefferson Jarvis and wife Anne Guzzardi of Tennessee; two grandchildren; and special friends Just Anaya-Sanchez, Lisa Marie Sanchez, Grace Williams and Phillip Gomez. Wilbur will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

ADELINA I. TAFOYA
Adelina I. Tafoya, 59, of Moriarty passed away Jan. 25, 2006 in Albuquerque with her loving family beside her.
Adelina was born March 21, 1946, in Encino to Prospero and Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Saiz. She married William A. Tafoya on Oct. 8, 1984, in Moriarty. He survives her.
Adelina is also survived by her daughter, Dorenda Baca and husband Billy; brother, Ross Saiz and wife Juana; sisters, Mary Quintero, Alice Williams and Patsy Rubi; two grandchildren, Amanda Baca-Macias and William Baca II; two great-grandchildren, Lorali Macias and Jonah Baca; her mother, Guadalupe Saiz; and many friends.
Adelina will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend. All that knew and loved her will miss Adelina.
A rosary was recited for Adelina on Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Mass was celebrated Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel with Father William Young officiating. Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.

MILDRED GOAR DUNLOP
Mildred Goar Dunlop, 85, of Mountainair passed away Jan. 25, 2006 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Millie was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Hamilton, Texas, to John Boyce and Lela Bell (Gray) Goar. She attended school in Mountainair, where she met and married John Bradley Dunlop Jr. on June 1, 1939. Following World War II they moved to Albuquerque and lived there until 1986. After retirement, they returned to the Mountainair area.
John preceded her in death in 1991 after 52 years of marriage.
Millie had a zest for life and enjoyed many activities and hobbies throughout her life. Her interests included square-dancing, bowling, horseshoes, sewing, crafts and painting. In her later years she found great pleasure in activities and friends at the Mountainair Senior Center. She was small in stature but large in heart. She will be remembered for her feisty manner and love of life. All that knew and loved her will miss Millie.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Carol Jacobi and husband Richard of California, Dianna Richards of Albuquerque, Velta Gilley and husband James of Mountainair, and Nila Scarberry and husband Robert of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law Larry Richards on Jan. 3, 2006.
A funeral service was held Saturday at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Mountainair with Rev. Alan Granat officiating. Interment was at the Mountainair Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Mountainair Senior Center, 107 North Summit, Mountainair, NM 87036.
