FREDERICK LUERAS
Frederick "Fred" Lueras, 52, of Mountainair passed away Dec. 2, 2005, at home with his loving family beside him.
Frederick was born May 29, 1953, in Mountainair to Margarito and Demecia (Lopez) Lueras. He proudly served his country as a Marine in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an automotive mechanic. He belonged to the St. Alice Catholic Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Frederick is survived by his sons, David Lueras and Melissa Gonzales, and Dimas Carlos Lueras and Mary Katherine Baca; daughter, Sonya and husband Lonnie Greene; sisters, Diana and husband Edward Padilla, Stella Archuleta and Albino Lopez, Linda Medina, and Tom McCarty and Alice Paiz; four grandchildren, Santiago Lueras, Dylan Greene, Wyatt Greene and Anthony Padilla; special friend and former spouse, Patsy Lueras; and many nieces and nephews. All that knew and loved him will miss Frederick.
A Rosary was recited for Frederick on Dec. 30 at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair. Mass was celebrated on Dec. 31 at the St. Alice Catholic Church with Father Ron Stone officiating. Interment followed at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery in Mountainair.

CHARLES RICHARD GILBERT
Charles Richard Gilbert, 72, of Mountainair passed away Dec. 27, 2005 at home with his loving family beside him.
Charles was born May 19, 1933, in Crawford, Texas, to Emory and Edna (Williams) Gilbert. He married Jimmie Louise Wilson on Dec. 6, 1974, in Waco, Texas. They moved to Mountainair in 1983. Charles proudly served his country in the Air Force/Air Corps.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jimmie, of the home; a son, Nicholas Gilbert of Mountainair; and three brothers, Kenneth Gilbert, Darrel Gilbert and Leonard Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Edna Gilbert.
Charles will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Arrangements for cremation have been handled by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Mountainair.
BENITO ALEJANDRO SALAS
Benito Alejandro Salas, 22, of Edgewood passed away Dec. 31, 2005.
Benito was born July 11, 1983, in Landstuhl, Germany, to Benito and Sandra (Gauldin) Salas. Benito was a 2001 graduate of Moriarty High School.
He is survived by his parents, Benny and Sandra Salas of Edgewood; a sister, Jessica Leonor Evelyn Salas of Edgewood; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Bessie Gauldin and Alejandro and Leonor Salas. All that knew and loved Benito will miss him.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty with Father William Young officiating. Interment was at the San Lorenzo Catholic Cemetery in Abo.

CHRISTINA ELAINE KINGSBURY
Christina Elaine Kingsbury, 80, of Stanley passed away Jan. 1, 2006 at home with her loving family beside her.
Christina was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Lancaster, Ill., to Elmer and Bessie (Griesemer) Knoerr. She married Harry Kenneth Kingsbury on March 20, 1957, in Las Cruces. They had moved to Stanley from Albuquerque 10 years ago.
Christina is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee Musgrove and wife Karla of Clovis; daughters Karen Lewis and husband Dale of Stanley, and Becky Morris and husband Lee of Dumas, N.M.; sisters, Heidi Bonita Farmer and Marilyn Kay Griesemer; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bessie Knoerr; her husband, Harry Kingsbury; and a sister, Cherry Alice Keepes. Christina will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at the Mosquero Cemetery in Mosquero, N.M.

TERRY LEE MATHES
Terry Lee Mathes, 56, of Moriarty passed away Dec. 31, 2005 in Albuquerque with his loving family beside him.
Terry was born Oct. 21, 1949, to Leonard and Lois "Ilene" (Kutzner) Mathes. He married Kathleen Olsen on Sept. 22, 2000, in Moriarty. Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was active in the DAV and the VFW. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus as a fourth-degree Knight. He served as a lector as well as a mayordomo for the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty.
Terry is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home; his sons, Sean McCloskey and wife Samantha of Moriarty, David McCloskey of Albuquerque, Dale McCloskey and wife Reyna of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Brian McCloskey of Moriarty; daughters, Tammie Spann and husband Steve of Moriarty, and Lenora Mathes of Albuquerque; a brother, Jeremy Mathes of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister, Denise Beasley and husband Terry of Derby, Kan.; five grandchildren, Alicia Ann, Julianna, Kailee, Sheldon and Bryanna; and his father, Leonard Mathes of Moriarty.
His mother, Ilene, preceded him in death.
Terry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A Rosary will be recited for Terry today at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. A Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel with Father William Young officiating.

BESSIE LEA WATTS
Bessie Lea Watts, 73, a resident of Corrales, and former resident of Willard and Mountainair passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008.
Bessie was born August 26, 1934, the daughter of Percy and Willie Lura Nicholas Wheatley in Pedarnal, N.M. She enjoyed making quilts and giving them away to families whose children still have them today. Bessie was an artist using mostly acrylics to paint southwestern landscapes. She was proud of being a military wife for 20 years.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Donald Watts in 2006; and son, Leslie Gene Watts in 1996. Bessie is survived by daughter, Norma Sue Watts-Lucero of Corrales and daughter-in-law Stephanie Lucero of Corrales; three grandchildren, Christopher Lucero and wife Lisa, David Lucero and wife Monique, and Kodee Lea Watts; and two great grandchildren, Chelsea and Christopher Giles.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bessie's name to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held.

FEDELINA GARCIA
Fedelina Garcia, 94, of Willard passed away Feb. 13, 2008 at her home with her loving family beside her.
Fedelina was born Feb. 15, 1913, in Punta De Agua, N.M., to Salvador and Maria (Jaramillo) Griego. Fedelina married Salomon Garcia in 1932. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Eucharistic League of St. Charles. Fedelina was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Earnestine Garcia; sisters, Adela Chavez; Manuelita Herrera; brother, Sisto Griego; grandson, Joe A. "Chip" Garcia Jr.; granddaughters, Jamie Garcia, Celina Salgado; son-in-laws, Terrel J. Vickoren; William Brown, sister-in-laws, Florinda Chavez and Clorinda Garcia. Fedelina is survived by sons, Chris Garcia and wife Jeannine of Willard; Joe A. Garcia Sr. of Willard; Herminio Garcia and wife Anita of Albuquerque; daughters, Rose Brown of Willard; Nora Tenorio and husband Richard of Albuquerque; Prescilla Vickeron of Lake Side, Ariz.; Miguela Tackett and husband Randy of Ft. Sumner; Gloria Padilla of Albuquerque; Ramona Sanders and husband Dave of Camp Verde, Ariz.; Lorella Alderete and husband LeRoy of Torreon; brother, Pedro Griego of Albuquerque; sisters, Virginia Aragon of Albuquerque; Carmen Thompson of Albuquerque; Mary Griego of Albuquerque; 34 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 27 great-great grandchildren. A rosary was recited Feb. 17 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard.
The mass was celebrated Feb. 18 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard. Burial followed at the El Rosario Cemetery in Willard. Pallbearers were Chris Garcia, Joe A. Garcia Sr., Herminio Garcia, LeRoy Alderete, Johnny Garcia, and Dave Sanders. Honorary pallbearer was Adam Garcia.
